Happy Day All!
As you can imagine I've been REALLY busy and the exhausted at night. Everything is gradually falling into place, but so much to go. Did have a good sushi lunch yesterday with a neighbor - after going to the Humane Society Thift Store, Hobby Lobby and Lowe's - and before going to Walmart and back to Lowe's. I've made seven trips to Lowe's in 6 days! Yesterday had to go back after getting home, as I forgot the two gallons of paint I had them mix. It was sitting there nicely on their counter waiting for me.
Decided yesterday to check in with our primary care doc. Have taken my BP a few times (found our machine) and did it once at Walmart and it's really high. Was high in GA as well, so getting a little concerned. Couldn't believe the gal got me in at 0940 this morning! I knew she'd get me in, but thought it would be late afternoon. Must have had a cancellation. It's right down the road from Lowe's, but I'm NOT going there! LOL!
It is so awesome to be home! We've lived in this house for 34 years and love it. We love the cabin, but this is home. I'd like to stay longer, but DH has dr appt in GA next week and we prefer to travel on Sunday.
Phyl - hope they figure out exactly what's going on with you and that it's an easy fix. Prayers...
BettyJ - prayers today for Dave and you as well. Once this procedure is over, hopefully things will be on an upswing without the dips!
Sue - if you're reading this, how's it going with the caregiver? Hope all is working out.
Well, guess I'll go get started - again. Make your day a good one! Cheers!

Morning All!
Penny don’t you hate it when you forget things like that? Can’t tell you how many times I’ve done that over the years and had to double back. Sounds like you are busy, exhausted and very happy. Couldn’t be happier for you friend! Remember, easy does it, one day at a time. I’ve been on the same BP meds for years and just this last time the doc didn’t think it was doing the trick, so now I have a mini pill to take with the old one. I guess it’s just a product of the age and times….Considering our stress levels these days, it’s no wonder it isn’t higher.
I’m up pretty early – garbage, cleaning lady day. That plus was one of those nights where you don’t think you’re asleep, cause you are so restless – but maybe you were… either way you just don’t feel like you did. I actually was glad to get out of bed this morning, seemed pointless to stay there, if you know what I mean…
We’ve had several bear sitings in the last couple of weeks, so I am being extra cautious when the princess goes out – I usually go with her. I got another warning e mail from the police last night – one was seen three blocks away. Elusive little devil – every time they get close it takes off for the woods…Right now the lawn mower guys are here and she’s barking up a storm – the nerve of them making all that racket!
My mini chair is actually looking really good! Im pleased with it so far. After my nail appointment and a short run to the vets for Lily’s Apoquel, I’ll come home and work on it some more. I want to try to make a ruffle for the bottom of the chair – like those old fashioned ones made out of chintz.. Any way Im enjoying myself – keeping me out of the heat and humidity.
Betty thinking of you and Dave today, wishing you well.
Emily glad you had a good time with DSIS. Spoke to my cousin and the weather at the shore hasn‘t been too bad – he said a lot of wind in the afternoons. He can’t wait for all the tourists to leave after Labor Day. He says its been crazy with people!
Wishing all a pleasant and productive day!
Dayle

The day is going fast. Ozzie decided that he really needed to get up early because the squirrels were outside playing so up we got. Got a lot done already. Sheets washed, squirrels fed, flowers watered. Ready to take a shower now because I am totally soaked with sweat.
Penny, sounds like you're working hard but enjoying it a lot. Nothing like home for sure.
Soon we have to start prepping for DH procedure. The first thing is a fleets enema which he is not going to enjoy at all and will probably complain about it a whole lot. I will definitely be glad when this is over.
Off to shower.

Good morning all,
It's going to be a nice, sunny day and only 81*. We didn't get any rain yesterday. Choir was great last night. I think I am getting my singing voice back. I didn't do any singing while we were under Covid restrictions so my voice is a little scratchy. My DGD did not have appendicitis. She has a kidney infection. So no surgery but I think she is going to have a rough time for a few days. Lots of water and antibiotics. And I got an email from my Primary Care Physician yesterday. They cancelled my Aug 13th appointment and made it for Aug 12th. But they made it for 11:00am. I never schedule a morning appointment with this doctor because he is in Baltimore City, 25 miles away through city traffic. But I think I will just keep it for the time being, until I go to the eye doctor about the cataract surgery. I may have to change it then anyway.
I asked Ed about going to Home Depot today to look for a new dishwasher. I stopped using mine in November. I had a plumber here for a new hot water heater and he said not to use it. It was backing up into the garbage disposal. It is the original dishwasher when the condos were built in 2007. We have replaced the refrigerator, heating and AC, hot water heater and the dryer. The only appliances left are the washing machine, the stove and the microwave. That should be fun. Maybe I can talk him into going out for dinner.
Lin, I printed out that recipe for the chicken and rice casserole. It looks really good. I have a similar one but it is done on the stove top and has no cheese.
Have a good one.

Was on phone with my neighbor for quite awhile. Her best friend just died. What is going on around here lately!! Service on Friday and she is helping the family out. Nice of her but kind of stressful.
Happy anniversary, Helen, hope you are doing something special. Those are the best "special days" of all.
Phyl, I'll bet you can't tip that chair over either!! that is how I got the earring out of my couch tilt back chair. NO not me, DSIL did it for me. and pop out it came. I am never buying another couch or love seat with tilt back chairs. Too heavy to move and not sure what all is under there these days. Had it all cleaned out under there when I was scrubbing to get rid of kitty dander she Calli died. I found a letter opener I thought I had thrown out by mistake last year. See how long it goes before someone can move that darn thing!!
I ordered one of the mattress in a box. for the bunk bed I have stored in basement. IF my friend in Florida come to visit with her older DD I will need to sleep down there. No I won't make them do that neither one does well on stairs. I am used to them and kind of like the privacy, also have a half bath down there so I am good. the bunk bed belongs to my DSIL's daughter and she has not room for it at this time and may not be in my life time before she does have a place . Not sure who has the other half. Didn't ask, just asked if it would be okay to use it if I buy the mattress.
Penny, I am so excited for you and your home!! have you taken the time to walk the beach!! Like you my Blood pressure has been a bit higher than usual, the top figure. I did buy a new monitor as mine was pretty old and it was really pushing up the pressure on my arm. tossed it and the new one is much better. My Dr does not recommend the wrist ones. This one keeps track of more readings the old one did.

As you can see by the map, Pa is increasing as well. Masking is going to be required for all school kids again in the fall. Hoping the vaccines pick up a lot more ! Kids ending up in hospital !! Not good.

NO LIN, IT did not come out, went To the furniture store, they did not have the smaller recliners. Kim said she has some Best brands coming in.
trying to get through Don's head why we should get rid of it.
this is funny,he said he could put a convertor on the chair, (me,_ how big is a convertor? he laughed, you know how big a CAR BATTERY IS? where would it set, behind the chair,I don 'think so..KIM said some of those chairs have a battery back up.wish Randall would have mention that..
Kim said to shake the chair, one a day it will come out.we knew we had seen each other ,turns out she went to school with our kids. so we had a nice chat.
CONNIE,what is happening is,we are getting older and more medical problems.

Wow! Thank you for the congratulations on our anniversary.
The plan today was to get out of town so we went to Brownsville, NE the oldest town in Nebraska. We both love history and found new and interesting things. BUT this morning just before taking off my bad knee popped. So it hurt--a lot! It really slowed me down but we still went just couldn't walk very far. I finally called the ER just now and the suggestion was to ice, raise the leg and rest and call the doctor in the morning as in ER they can only determine if it's broken or not and I can walk, it just hurts. So here I sit with ice with leg up and got on here. It is good to hear from all my friends here.
Tomorrow's plan was to spend time with DS#2 and DGD#5 exploring the different bakeries in our town. so hope that still can happen.
