Good morning friends. Slept very well and grateful. Last night was a blast. We ended up having pizza and a huge salad. They have a garden so all was nice and fresh and crisp. We were gifted tomatoes and cucumbers which were very well received. The fur kid tired themselves out LOL...so cute to watch their antics. There were plenty of 'new smells' for Benjamin to investigate!
Sue I did bring the fixings for S'mores and we all enjoyed them. Again thanks for that suggestion.
Today will be laid back.
Pam sounds like you had a good and busy day. Happy you got to relax. Your supper sounded delicious.
Waving and will CBL

Hi all,
It's another nice day. I enjoyed reading about your firepit fun filled night, Ann. It sounded great! What a great suggestion from Sue on the S'Mores. Can't get any better than capping off the night with S'Mores. :-)
Pam, you remind me so much of my most beloved aunt who does so much for the community, feeding the poor, volunteering at church, reading to the blind and more. She has a few decades on you and is approaching 95 but still gets up every day with a mission. My cousin, her son, is now doing the same in his retirement. He lives in Maine and his days are filled with helping his community in every way he can. He helps people pay bills, fix things around their house, give them rides and more. You have a great soul and help so many. I always chuckle about Blondie's antics though I am sure the receptionist and others will be glad when their treatments are done. Smart to escape to run errands since the treatments take time. How many times a week does he go? I am glad the DGKs are gearing up and full of fun expectation for their visit to your house. DD3 must be SO happy. You haven't seen them in person since before the pandemic, right? Also, regarding your comment of the caregiver having Covid, I am with you. HOw can people deny science? Get vaccinated! They put so many vulnerable people and kids at risk. I just don't get it unless there is a medical reason for it. Ugh...our college staff and student population is now 85% vaccinated. We must hit 90-95% before the return to work, but I think we'll do it. We all had to submit our vaccination cards.
We wound up having 3 showings yesterday and I had to skedaddle out of the house in a hurry after I wrote yesterday to accommodate one within the hour. The dogs and I spent a lot of time at the park and riding around to stay cool! I tried to get them into doggy daycare, but everything was full.
I had a wonderful lunch with my older brother and his wife at a nearby Jimmy's Restaurant. We all had salads - he and I had Cobb salad and my DSIL had clam chowder and a side salad. They have been eating out so much that they want to go on the lighter side and I don't blame them. My brother looked fantastic considering his surgery and tenuous kidney situation. He is slim, trim and follows the doctor's orders to a letter without being uptight about it. My DSIL is very worried about him, but who wouldn't be? He had me in gales of laughter when he showed me a photo of DSIL trimming his hair before surgery. She had been doing a great job since the pandemic with clippers and the right attachments. But, in their preoccupation with the surgery and stress, they forgot to put the attachment in and she shaved a wide swath of his hair right across the top of his head. It was the funniest thing I've seen. He said he wore his ballcap for weeks but had to take it off when he went into a friend's home (our dad instilled the never wear a cap in a house or inside) and of course, his friends cracked up! Well into his 70s now, he still has a beautiful head of dark hair. Anyhow, it was great to visit them and we will see them on Sunday when they view the new house. I really wish we'd had more time, but I had to go home to collect the dogs for the next showing. No offers yet, but we have scheduled another already for next week. I'll keep you posted.
DH picked up all the tile from the Tile Shop for the mudroom and we'll bring it down on Sunday. The kitchen is going in next week and the hardwoods are almost done. Progress! The bathroom and kitchen tiling will take place in August.
I hope everyone has a great day! TTFN...

Judy so happy that you had as nice time with DB. Just love a nice crisp fresh salad with toppings I bet it was delicious. Praying that something good comes out of the three showings. If not there is always another day. Yes progress indeed. The best part (or one of them) last night was the fact that not one mosquito bothered me. I never got a bite I guess the combo of the fire citronella torches and bug zappers did the trick. I am planned and tracked. Coffee tasted especially good this morning...Going for another cup before I start the day. Tootles

Hooray on no mosquitoes. We suffer with the gnats or no-see-ums at the Cape. The cintronella helps I think the fire keeps them away, too. :-)
My taste buds come and go since I had Covid. Ugh. I still have that awful onion-y like smell and taste all the time and I miss my coffee and other foods. I sure wish it would be like it used to be. You'd think I wouldn't want to eat as much but that has not been the case!
Enjoy the day.

LOL Judy not the case with me either. Whenever I get a sinus infection or severe head cold that takes away my taste buds I over eat...thinking that THIS will be the FOOD that I can TASTE.
We just got back from a hood walk. It's nice to not have it be so humid.

Hi Ann, yes it is amazing how quickly the day flies by! I've done a bit of work and a bit of reading the Elin Hillenbrand Rumors book which is fun. Good escapism. Sure makes my problems seem small--lol.
We have another family gathering on Sunday but tomorrow will be a day of doing a few things around here.
Have a great night all!

We were just about to take Benjamin on the last walk of the day when the sky opened up. Luckily we were all under the carport. Hopefully it will 'let up' so that he can go and relieve himself. Carl was also supposed to mow Jean and Brian's lawn but guess that'll wait till tomorrow.
Yes a light book is good escapism for sure. Enjoy your family gathering on Sunday.
Sweet dreams.
