Good morning.
I am having issues with either my mouse (the right clicking to duplicate the page), or the site is not letting me open a duplicate tab, so there won't be a description page for our Booklover's Board today. I will try again tomorrow, maybe it will work, but I am doubtful.
Robin, I believe the kids love the beach; I was raised with every summer for a week my parents would rent a cottage at a lake up north, and it was the best time of our lives. The memories you are creating for your whole family are the best!
About DS, I think you were thinking if she has only been married once, her thinking is more narrow....? I think it has to do with DH being in our family so long, she has put him on a pedestal, what with all his health issues, then covid taking him.
For years I have felt the same way, about sleeves, and would not go near sleeveless tops, but the saleswomen and my DS convinced me that with the very hot days, to heck with sleeves, why not be comfortable? So for DGS birthday on the 4th, I wore a very nice orange tank top, with a bra let under, because it was sleeveless and the holes were big, and I had more compliments about that shirt! I did find a tag for that dress that said it is 95% Polyester, and 5% spandex. The boutique I bought it at did say they can't keep that dress in stock, as soon as they get it, it sells out.
Marsha, oh boy, your poor DD! That sounds like a long time to be in school. I hope it goes fast for her. Hope also that the doctor apt went well.
I am surprised you did not hear back from DDIL, as she seemed to be better at replying to you than your DS.
Did you see any of the Parade in Milwaukee yesterday? I had it on, and was not going to watch it, but started, and I am glad I did. I do think that most of the players were drunk though, lol. There had to be 3 or 4 hundred thousand people there, watching along the route and at the Deer District. Very happy for the people of Milwaukee.
Gareth, you are a trooper! No way would I have been out walking in that humidity yesterday. Of course with my lung issues, it affects me differently.
Good luck to your DH boss, boy that does not sound good. I can't believe how this summer is flying by, so hopefully he will make it to see that grand baby.
I think if I were to read GWTW now, for the first time, I would not be very impressed with it. I was a young teen when I read it, then saw the movie. Then with my DD2, when she was growing up, we would have GWTW watch parties, and when it comes down to it, make fun of it. We knew all the words, and would make up different, funny replies, instead of the ones in the movie. And of course just as everyone else, would make fun of the drape dress.
Thank you for the directions to post an image.
Carol, yes, my DS is overstepping. I get the impression sometimes that she thinks that poor Karen is all alone, so she has to guide me. She has told me that it just makes her sick, to think that we lost our little brother, and our other brother has turned into a man that likes to chase women in their 20's, so she does not want to loose her little sister, who, according to her, is the only other normal person left in our family. But with that, I think she does not want me to rock the boat, as in do not meet someone new, and then god knows what I might do!
I like nice boring weeks, I am looking forward to having one of those next week!!!
About greeting cards, I like when we get them in the mail, for free, but I do make a donation, to whatever charity mails them out.
Anngie, waking up not knowing what day it is has a name for that!!! It is called RETIREMENT!!!! Hahaha, but really, I have had that issue, so I know what you are talking about.
Your BBQ sounds like a lot of fun! And that squash casserole, yum! But no, I have never made it.
How great that you will be included with the dress shopping!!! That will be so fun, make sure you bring tissues, you may need them!
Pinky, hello!!! You really need to put your motor in 1st gear!!! I hope you have a quiet weekend planned....yeah I know, not going to happen!
Thank you, everyone for your comments to the PM. There is so much I could tell you all, but I gab too much on here as it is. I wanted to post a picture of him, but just could not figure it out, between pulling the picture from my phone, to trying to post it on this goofy site, I gave up. He is not on Facebook; I would have just posted it on there, but do not think, since he is not on there, it would be fair to him. If it was a pic of us together, I would put it on there. But that won't happen for maybe a bit over a month.
Now the drama in my life is trying to figure out what the heck is wrong with my mouse! Oh and also, I think I reached the dreaded plateau! I stayed the same this weigh in. I did nothing different this week, compared to the last how many weeks I have been back on WW. I wanted to loose another 10 pounds while DF is in Ireland, but I don't think that will happen now.
Have a wonderful day, everyone.
