I might have to print these out and read them again and again. This is my food bank Saturday so I will be doing that before heading to work. Church on Sunday and then work.

I've had fun reading through all these and noting the things I do, plus new ideas or reminders of some that I haven't thought about for awhile. The format reminded me of store displays of a bunch of assorted merchandise that make you slow down and look carefully to see if there's anything you'd want. There were hints that were similar but worded a bit differently each time. That made me think & pick out the ones that could work for me. I noticed lots in the last 50 that related to the mindfulness aspects and enjoying life, doing what we enjoy. Can't go wrong with that! Hope everyone has a great weekend.

There are quite a few things in that last list that I would like to do more often. Here are 3 that caught my eye:
Clear away your clutter in the kitchen and beyond. Find enjoyable ways to move your body. Walk more.
No special plans for the weekend. Mass this evening, and this morning I'm going to prop up the corn stalks in my garden with stakes and twine. We had a storm with strong winds that laid them all flat.

I agree with Judy that these last tips deal with more mindfulness. We need all aspects of our lives to be healthy.

Thanks Jan for refreshing my mind with these ideas, sometimes I just get stuck into thinking that if I'm not doing perfect that I am totally failing at my healthy eating regime. This has reminded me that it is just a bunch of baby steps!
Today is the day for the Soup for Souls luncheon. I am very glad that it is back. I am just dropping off my food today as DS & his wife are coming for lunch. I think the 4 of us are just going to pick up Chinese for lunch, then we will go to church this evening & tomorrow will probably just be piddling around the house.

3. Take as much vacation as you can. This is one that really hit a chord with me. I don't take vacations as a regular on-going kind of thing. When I worked full-time, yes, I took my two weeks a year (or whatever the job came with) but otherwise, no. DH and I have been talking about one major vacation (and have the money already saved and put away in a special account for two weeks for a tour of Israel) but I didn't renew my passport before the pandemic (our original plan was to go around March of 2020, so it's just as well we didn't get stuck overseas), so we couldn't go (even had the pandemic not hit). And I haven't looked at March of 2022 yet, and am beginning to wonder whether our health (neither one of us is getting any younger, as it turns out) will permit that kind of trip much later than 2022.
Taken all (150 tips) together, great article, Jan! Thank you for posting it.
Yesterday, after morning services I took the rest of the day off. I lounged, watched movies (either on TV or that we previously recorded), stuck to an SFT (or later SF) plan of eating, and just relaxed, even going to bed earlier than usual. What a gift to myself that was!
[edited to add] and I found out that yesterday was something like "Give yourself a gift day" or words to that effect! Who knew...

Not much going on for me today. I went to Mass last evening. Today I'm going to water my new trees. It's going to be hot, but I won't have to be outside except for moving the water. I'm going to try to move around more today and I'm going to take that tip about removing clutter and do it during the time I'm moving. When I'm just sitting I'll probably do some reading.

Just got out of church, came home to change clothes and now heading to work. We have a new cashier (yesterday was her first day) and she must weigh close to 300 pounds. I asked her a bit about her eating meals and she eats a large dinner at 10pm and then goes to bed. And very little movement of any kind due to her weight. She is really struggling to be on her feet all day. Not sure cashiering is a good job fit for her. Makes me thankful for WW and my weight loss and makes me more determined than ever to never let the weight creep back on again (like it did last time).
Just got this from WW. Lots of recipes (400 of them)
