One step is all it takes to move forward!
As some of us have said in the past, exercise is the most challenging part of our program, here are a few ideas for daily "dos".
Add these smart moves to your daily routine for greater heart, brain, and muscle health.
1. Work it out. Exercise forces your heart to pump more blood & getting your heart rat up regularly over time keeps the arteries flexible, lowering blood pressure and helping your heart to run more efficiently. That enhanced blood flow also means more oxygen is getting to your brain, which supports good cognitive function. Of course, exercise also helps keep your muscles strong and working as they should. 2. Make it a habit. Do activities that get your heart racing and target major muscle groups. Walking, jogging, biking and swimming are just a few great ways to achieve this. 3. Incorporate light strength training and stretching. Doing these on a regular basis will support strong, flexible, mobile muscles. 4. Give dance a chance. Dance requires rhythmic patterns and exercises focuses on hand-eye coordination, this helps keep the brain sharp & alert.
FUN: How many purses do you own? Do you change them out according to what you are wearing? Or do you just carry the same one until the season changes, or until you get tired of it?

I didn't make it here yesterday. Here are some of what would have been my responses...
Shoes: I wear one pair of walking or running shoes pretty much every day and replace them when they wear out. I have one pair of flats that I wear for special events (practically zero during the last, what is it now, year and a half?) plus I wear flats for Sabbath services (very very very few of which I've been able to attend in person in the last [more or less] year and a half). I was never a big shoe collector, unlike my sister who almost always had a lot of shoes to choose from. I probably have a few additional pairs, but don't wear them except for one exception: one day a year I wear one particular pair of white canvas shoes (which I change out when they get yucky). I have given away or thrown away shoes that were given to me (or that I wore out), but my life has become so simplified that a pair of everyday shoes and one pair (sometimes two in different colors) for "dress up" are sufficient.
I didn't know about the connection between vision and exercise. Will look more into it.
I make approximately 64 (slightly more) ounces of herbal tea every morning, pour it into travel mugs, and take the mugs with me and drink all day long. That's my water supply.
I rarely hold a grudge, and although DH and I argue (sometimes rather strongly), I spend some time cooling down and it's extremely rare that I go to bed angry.

Exercise is something I really need to get a handle on. I know it is important, good for the body, helps keep me healthy and all that stuff, but I have such a hard time keeping at it. I enjoy walking and my favorite cardio is dancing to music with a good beat, but still I don't do it on a regular basis.
As for purses, I mainly stick to one, whatever the season. I do have 2 or 3 more but I seldom use them. I also have a back pack that I use sometimes when I am on an outing. It's easier to use than the over the shoulder style purse I usually carry. It holds more and I can put a light jacket or sweat shirt in it if I need to.

I'm making progress with exercise. I am going to the fitness center at least 2 times a week...was doing well with 3 times a week. I will get back to 3 times.
Really enjoyed aerobic dance type exercise when it was popular (jazzercize was one franchise/style).
Purses - I aspire to be the kind of person who changes purses. But, I hardly ever do. So, I have a few "spares" - probably around 10. They are from the thrift store, if I see one in nice condition (I like Baggallini brand - they have lots of pockets!).
Related type of item - tote bags - I have more of those. I have a couple that work well for baseball games, others that work well for dog volunteer stuff or dog classes. I used to have a few different ones for work. And use them around the house, such as to contain crochet projects in progress.

I have cut back on my walking because several mornings a week I spend my before work time watering and/or working in the yard. I am still getting in a good sweat so I am happy with that. I had to give up the mindset that if I didn't hit 10K steps a day I had "failed" the day.
I have 1 main purse (that I just bought, also at a thrift store like Judy) that replaced one whose strap was basically held on by a safety pin. I hadn't seen a purse to replace it with that I liked so was making do until... I also have a quite small purse (maybe a pursette ?) that can hold a cell phone and some cash/credit card that I sometimes take when going out and I don't need all the stuff in my purse. I also have a red one that I used during the holidays.

Some days, exercise alludes me. The weather is so hot & humid now, that walking outside is a struggle. Seems as though I am always looking for excuses. I try to do my 10 min. of stretches in the mornings, I am getting more walking in, especially, now that I am walking through stores, etc. again.
I laughed at some of the purse responses. Jan, I love that you have yours fastened together with a safety pin! I have several purses piled up on the top of my closet. I seem to use the same one for months on end, then I will decide to change it out. Since the pandemic & my physical issues, I mostly only carry a small bag that goes across my body. That leaves both hands free. I, too, love thrift stores. I have bought purses there, I am not at all picky about them. Just a necessity.

No idea how many purses...I tend to use one and not switch them out. I remember mom used to have a little pouch thing with dividers to move from one purse to another...hmm... Of course not going anywhere and not wanting to touch anything when I do go out makes purses a less important item at the moment!
I need to get back into exercising...but...not sure if/when I will
