Good morning friends. Slept well and grateful. I can't believe this is the last week of July. My how time flies....
No plans other than once again a boatload of laundry. While that washes I'll busy myself
Our air quality is compromised due to the wildfires on the west coast. They say it's going to be better tomorrow.
Pam once again you are one busy gal. Happy that you had a good visit with your therapist and that she is cutting back and not retiring. Once you 'find one' that's a good fit it's hard to switch. I've heard of that author but don't remember if I read anything. I will google and find out. Thanks for the suggestion. I keep meaning to ask you if you hear from or remember 'reallymine' from the old WW board? Nice that there is a complete meal of 0 points on purple. I'm still doing blue
Waving and will CBL

Took a very short hood walk with Carl and Benjamin. Very HHH here with air quality poor due to wildfires from the west coast. Short jaunts in the yard are about all we can and will handle today. I am still doing laundry and reading. Carl is putting together a smoker that he bought just before Covid hit. He gave our older one to a cashier at Hannaford's that really doesn't have much. She's such a sweet gal and she and her DH are hard workers. Makes you feel good to pass things on...... My day is planned and tracked. I shall pop in later to see who pops in to post. Waving...............................and wishing all a wonderful day

Good Afternoon, WW Friends ~
Happy Tuesday! I woke up early (at 6 a.m.) but dawdled around with DH while he cooked breakfast for us, and posting some online, etc. W have another HHH day here though the temp is only in the 80's, the humidity makes it stifling!
Ann ~ Good luck with that laundry. We have so much less in the Summertime than Winter that it is almost laughable! My DH also gifted our gas grill to one of the cooks at a customer's restaurant. She is a single mom and when he asked her she said she *had* a grill but one of the legs was threatening to come off. He felt really good about giving it to her. That is a great feeling!
Judy ~ Congrats on your new grandson! I know you are dying to go see him and hold him!
Pam ~ Glad your therapist is not retiring. That would be so disappointing. It isn't always easy to find the right "fit". Your car dealership wasn't offering you much of a deal at all, were they? I made out much better.
I have been to my Fitness Class where she worked our butts off (again!). I stopped afterward to talk with our receptionist and then had to go right to the Chevy dealership for an appointment. They are so depleted on stock, but have some on order. My salesman ran the numbers for me and came up with my payment the same or lower for a 2 year newer car with all the same features. There is one in my preferred color on order and due to arrive around September 1st. Since my lease goes until next Summer I am not in any hurry. They would LOVE to have my car because they can make more on the resale of it. I wouldn't mind having my price locked in for the next 2-3 years either.
Right now we are shopping for a truck for DH. His needs massive work and now has developed an oil leak. However small, it is a pain because we can't park it anywhere without something underneath it to catch the droplets. We have known for some time that we needed to upgrade, but suddenly it is more imperative. My DH has been dragging his feet on it, and now the time is here! I saw him at the dealership this morning looking around. Of course our budget isn't in line with dealer prices, especially right now when vehicles (especially used) are at a premium!
He has a lead on an Escalade which is the same body type as the Avalanche that he is driving, so it has all the same features. It is for sale at the small dealer up the street where I have purchased so many things for his truck - like the remote starter, the Weather Tech floor mats, the side steps and the bug deflector. I'm sure there's more that's escaping me right now. But the price is a bit more than he wants to spend. He talked with the owner this morning who told him to make an offer. I hope he goes back there this afternoon.
I was reading a delightful book yesterday and plan to finish it this afternoon.
BBL. Make a great day!!

LOL Sue. I never noticed lighter laundry in the summer. Lots of our laundry is towels after showering and when Carl works on the truck or is outside doing this and that. I have NO IDEA how he manages to get so grubby LOL. So there's that! At least I don't have to be fussy with the work clothes Your DH is a lot like Carl. It is such a great feeling gifting something to someone that really needs and appreciates it. So happy that you are loving your fitness class. That makes all the difference...a good instructor that works you and people that are friendly. Win win in my book. Good luck with the car/truck purchase. Praying that DH makes an offer and they accept. Keep us posted. We are under a severe thunderstorm watch. Between that and the compromised air from the west coast this has been a not so great month. Oh well...we will just deal with it. Yeah to finishing a good book. I tried reading but fell asleep. Will try again later. WAving............

Hi Ann ~
I never did get to read. I sat down and was scrolling through Facebook to see the Neighborhood News regarding the tornado clean up. Then I happened upon Market Place and was looking at vehicles for DH. He called meantime and had made his day's work looking for a truck. He had seen several that he told me about, but one in particular really caught his eye. He called the guy's number and was told the keys were inside the gas cap and to go ahead and take it for a ride. He asked if I wanted to go, so he waited until I got there to go out in it. It is a Chevrolet Colorado, which is good because DH has always driven Chevy trucks. This one is a bit smaller, but it has a covered bed with a locking cover. It is spotless and recently detailed, so very pleasing to the eye. I liked it right off the bat. The price listed was very fair, and DH offered less and the offer was accepted. The guy selling it is a private dealer who got it from a dealership who took it as a trade-in from someone else. He came home and we ate supper, then he heard back from his mechanic and told him about the new truck. They decided to look at it together this evening. When DH called the owner back he said he had already taken the new truck off its parking spot and removed the For Sale sign. DH had a problem with the adjustment for the seat back on the driver's side as well as the lock on the truck bed. The dealer said he is currently at his mechanic's shop (right near by) and they have fixed the lock and had to order the handle for the seat back so will install it tomorrow. I do hope it passes muster and DH can get it, as it really is nice and clean and bright and shiny. it will do my heart so good to see him driving a newer and better vehicle. Now to get the Avalanche in shape to be sold, as we have nowhere to keep it. Maybe we'll get some of the $$ back that we're taking out of the bank.
I'm going to go get ready for bed and perhaps read until DH gets back. I will be excited to hear what they all decide.
Sweet dreams ......

Hi all,
I wasn’t able to read all the notes yet but I will plan on doing that tomorrow. I just wanted to check in and I have just finished reading Mondays posts.
Pam, I love books by Elly Griffiths and I have read most of them. I also recommended them to my friend Connie and her husband Ed who are anthropologist and they loved them. I’m on a Elin Hellenbrand streak right now and enjoying it.
We’ve been watching the Olympics every night and enjoying the swimmers and divers. The gymnasts I’ve been good too. I felt sad to see Simone biles drop out tonight due to the stress and emotional upheaval of the Olympics. I can only imagine the stress these young people are onto her and I suppose when she started having trouble, she thought it might be best for the team to take a step back. I hope she rebounds.
We had another two showings today. We haven’t heard anything back yet from the realtor who called me last night and I’m not getting my hopes up. You never know and it takes a lot of patience. I just wish it would sell so that we could get out of this mode of having to live like perfect little people which we definitely are not!
Tomorrow I’m heading to Plymouth and taking the day off to spend with family and I’m really looking forward to that. I may even go back on Thursday if I can. My boss is traveling this week and I already informed him that I might take some time off which he thought was fine. I have to be back at work on Monday, August 2 but I will only be working three days a week in the office and two at home which will be nice. I plan to stick with working until the house is sold even though it will make it harder to show when I’m not around to corral the dogs and take them out for a ride. Will have to limit the hours for the showings but that’s fine too. It may be just weekends and the days that I am home.
I’m hoping you are all doing well! I’ll check in tomorrow!

Good evening! It was another busy day for me. I headed to BTR before 8:00 am to attend a strategic planning session with the upper management folks at the credit union. The other board member who was supposed to attend stayed home because his DD tested + for CV and he wasn't feeling well. Anyway, it was an interesting session with lots of good discussion. I had ordered a shrimp and avocado salad for my lunch and it was a big disappointment. Whatever green they used in the salad was very peppery-tasting and I didn't like it at all. No lettuce of any kind in sight! I didn't care for their version of honey mustard dressing. The avocado was small in amount and past its prime as were the cherry tomatoes. Oh well! I ate what I could, but was glad I had tucked a protein bar in my purse before I left. I did indulge in the oversized cookies that were on hand. On the way home, I stopped at Walmart to pick up a prescription for DH and the groceries that were on our list. When I got home, I was upset that DH was late getting home and wasn't here at the time I had scheduled the delivery of his infusion antibiotics. However, the delivery guy drove in while I was unloading groceries, so all was well. I even managed to get a short nap in the lazyboy before time to start dinner. I threw together some whole wheat pasta, shrimp, carrots, onions, garlic, bellpepper, cauliflower, broccoli, mozarella and white wine, with a little butter and olive oil. It made a good pasta primavera and there were no leftovers, lol. DH and I face-timed with Madison, who is beyond excited about their trip here and counting the days. DD3 joked that she might have to dose her with benedryl to get her to sleep at all. Poor Abby called to request a sleepover, but I couldn't say yes as I have to take DH to his treatments the next 3 mornings. She was disappointed, but I reminded her that Madison will be here soon and they can probably have a sleepover together. Ann - Laundry does have a way of growing, doesn't it? Sometimes I am appalled at what DH and I can accumulate in a week's time. Sue- Two new (to you) vehicles! You two youngsters are living the high life! Hope the sale on the pickup goes through without a hitch! Judy - I hope the last couple decide to buy. It would ease so many of your current issues. So, maybe it was YOU who recommended the Elly Griffiths books! Whoever recommended them, I am very grateful, as I am enjoying this first one. I have some hot chocolate with a dash of Bailey's Irish Cream to enjoy while I read. Tomorrow will be a busy day as DH sees the wound care doctor in addition to his hyperbaric tx and after I drop him at home, I have to head to BTR for a credit union meeting. Sweet dreams all!
