Welcome to the Clutter Patrol, formerly CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning, Thanks for the hugs Martha. Just before 8pm yesterday we were hit with an incredible rainstorm. Just walking to my car, which is parked in the lot closest to the door, I was soaked to the skin, hair like I just got out of the shower. Driving that short 2 miles home took almost 10 minutes because the streets were flooded across. I sent a text to DB when I got home letting him know I got home safely. He sent a message back with . They live about 6 miles from me (as the crow flies), it wasn’t even raining at all there. That was so strange. Today I’ve put my items for Amvets pickup near the door. I will take them out tomorrow morning. Tomorrow is also trash day and I’ve got extra for that too. Now I’m tidying up and getting ready to watch some tv and have lunch. Will have chili in crockpot tonight. Temps are in the 70s for the next 10 days so it’s not too hot for chili. See ya tomorrow

Joyce, that sounds like quite a storm. Glad you made it home safely. We had thunderstorms about 9 o’clock here but nothing that severe.
Martha, thanks for the ((HUGS)) and ((HUGS)) back to you. Any news on your car?
Ruth I hope you are having a good clutterbusting day.
I’m glad we made it to the pool yesterday because today is much cooler and not really pool weather. It was really good to catch up with our neighbors also. I am trying to get back into my exercise routine and like to do it first thing in the morning. I used a different DVD today and felt like I got in a lot of steps and a decent work out. My country ribs in the crock pot seemed to turn out okay, we are planning on eating them tonight, if anything they are a little overcooked, falling off the bone. I plan to just reheat them and add some sauce, I’ll let you know how they turn out.
A weird thing happened when I was cooking dinner last night. I did the bacon for BLTs in the microwave. I picked up the plate and it was so hot that I dropped it (about an inch) on to the glass turntable and broke it. I couldn’t believe how many different glass turntables there are. Ours was 14 1/4” inches and I couldn’t really find one that size so bought one that was 13” – it will be in next week. We can use the microwave we just have to be careful where we place what we are heating. I hope the 13” works, if not it can be returned.

Watching some Olympics as cbing. No tv in spare room.
DH liked the surprise of choc.chip cookies.
Car - Two of the three packages of parts have arrived. The last to arrive should be here today. The issues with car are multiple. Temperature/Coolant issues. We are hoping this takes care of the issues. DH will be working on the car this weekend. Other than groceries, I'll be at home. I'll walk up to library, as its only 7 blocks away. They aren't taking donations so can't get rid of some hanging around.
Joy - Yowsers! That is a lot of rain. Glad you took it slow & made it home safely. How was the rain at your house? Dottie - I like it when the meat falls off the bone. I just measured my old glass turntable for microwave. It's a little over 14 inches. You might check who made your microwave & ask if they have a replacement. Ruth - Hope you were able to find fresh corn. How did your cbing go?
Back to cbing.....
(((hugs)))

Good afternoon all. Went to the PT for my back. Turns out they use a lot of the same machines that we used for upper/middle back. So I’m used to most of the machines and I had a PT today that I really liked. I need to make a half dozen more appts that work with our schedule and will try to get her for most of them. The continuity is nice.
Woke up about 5 to lots of thunder and when I got up about 8:15 it was raining. We really still need it. Not like Joy got, but light rain. So glad you got home safely Joy. I hate driving in pouring rain like that. And getting soaked before the drive is no fun either!! We were to get to 97 (feels like 105) today; but due to the clouds we’ll probably only get to lower 90’s. But more storms possible tonight.
HUGS back at your Martha. Nice that your DH can do the car repairs. Mine won’t even try. He used to change oil and do minor repairs, but doesn’t do any of it anymore. Our younger DSIL does most of their car repairs. Older DSIL does some of it.
Dottie, you can look online for your model of microwave and it will tell you which plate to order. The biggest issue is how it attaches in the middle. We had extra plates from microwaves that no longer worked, that fit size wise; but how they attached in the middle was off. Why they aren’t standard is another of life’s mysteries!
We are watching a LOT of Olympics (probably too much), but it’s only every 4 years and we really enjoy it. I’m trying to get some things done while we do that. I tossed about 50-60 more pictures and some negatives yesterday. Need to do more of that today too. I found another box of pictures downstairs yesterday, looking for something else, so brought those up and dealt with some of that.
I need to toss in a load of laundry today and get it done. And in general, I just need to start moving more and sitting less! Going to see if I can make my 250 steps every hour I’m awake! And more, but that for a baseline! If I don’t watch it, I’m sitting way too much!
2020 and 2021 have not been good years for me! Mentally or physically I’m afraid. Oh well, there are things I can do to make it better and I need to begin doing them!
Have a good day all.
