First off, thank you everyone for your prayers. I think we might have some answers. Jerry's pulmonologist feels he was released from the hospital to soon (what I've been thinking for days). Plus the fact that the hospital did not send him home with any medications was probably the wrong thing to do. So the pulmonologist has put him on Prednisone (a steroid) and given him a rescue inhaler. This along with the oxygen he's on plus using his nebulizer with time should do the trick. He only had his first dose of Prednisone yesterday afternoon and I saw a difference in him last night. He's still in bed so not sure how he is this morning.
Only thing is while he's on a steroid he cannot take his cancer drug because they combat other. Just another layer of worry for me.
Between Jerry not feeling well, getting depressed over everything and my pity party things have been rough here. Sorry to lay this on you so early but you're the only ones I can talk to about the situation.

Good morning friends.
Pat good news about Jerry. Things should get better now, poor fellow and you too. Hugs and continued prayers.
Vicki did your friends come for their visit? You were so active before the accident with church functions etc. How is your Jerry doing? I might have him confused with Pat’s Jerry but if I remember right he has his health issues too.
So far Don and I are fine but I know things sometimes change quickly so today is a blessing.
We had a nice long phone visit with DS and DDIL yesterday afternoon about nothing and things. Just a visit to see how we’re getting along. DGD AND DGGD are coming today. I had told DGD Brenna I would sew her patches on her uniform and nursing school starts soon. 2 year old Kallie will go to day care then. She met her teacher and saw her room and is excited to go.
Funny story, Don asked me this morning what the dark spots were in the bathtub. I checked and first was worried then realized I left a few drops of my purple shampoo last night. Crisis avoided.
Sandy I’m sure it’s pleasant being home in your own environment again.
Safe travels and good times wished for Geri and Karen C.
I hear thunder this morning and it’s getting dark. We’re hoping for rain.

Today we are going to Kapok Tree for a catered luncheon and tour. Kapok Tree is a legendary destination restaurant in Clearwater FL , The KAPOK TREE INN opened in 1958. It became an immediate hit with locals and tourists, alike. It has now become an event space for weddings, etc.

Pat, It is so good to hear that Jerry is doing a little better. My fear was that when they sent him home from the hospital he may had had a false negative for COVID. I am so glad that was not the case. Continued ((HUGS)) and prayers.
Sharon, Enjoy your time with your DGD and your DGGD today. I know how much you are enjoying being near your family!

Good morning. Travel yesterday had a few snags because of an accident, road work, etc. It was after three before I got home. Good news for me,. I lost three pounds during those five days. I'm sure his beautiful pool helped.
Pat definitely in my prayers for you and Jerry. Mass shortly. Going to attend crochet group for first time in 16+ months. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
Sharon I know you are enjoying all the family time. DGGD is at such an enjoyable age. Those days are long gone for me. Oldest grand is 15 so doubt I will see great grands. My children did not have children until they were 35.
Sandy hope you have some good memories from your trip.

Geri 3 lbs, wow. Good for you girl.
AOTD: we do not use cable, Dish or Direct Tv or anything like that. We have a small antenna for local stations and an Amazon Fire Stick for streaming. The streaming service we use is Sling TV. We get some sports, HGTV, History, Discovery, all the major news networks and many others. I no longer like it after they changed their guide which is difficult to use. Also many of the demand shows are gone. DD has HULU and they are not happy with that either. Sling TV is $35 monthly. I will be getting a PBS passport again so we can stream some of their programs, such as Masterpiece. Thank you Ruth for that list, I may look into other streaming services.

Good morning all.
I have therapy this morning but I wanted to jump on and post before the day got away from me. This afternoon we need to pick up the Kroger order. We're supposed to get quite a bit of rain that will usher in a cool front for the weekend so I'm hoping we get home from Kroger before it hits.
Pat, I'm glad you're finally getting some answers. Continued prayers for both you and Jerry.
Sharon, yes my friends came last week for a visit and it was wonderful. They got here at 1pm and didn't leave until 3:30! My Jerry is doing pretty well so I think you might have got him mixed up with Pat's Jerry. Thanks for asking about him though.
Ruth, your plans for today sound so fun. Enjoy!
Geri, welcome home and congrats on that 3# weight loss!

AOTD: The only streaming service we have is Amazon Prime and since it's included in a Prime membership I think it's worth the price (free)! I really like it and it sure saved my sanity last year during the big lock down.
Jerry brought Molly home from the vet yesterday about 4pm. Thankfully the rest of her blood work came back fine and the Xray showed no blockage. The vet thinks she has a severe case of gastroenteritis and she should start feeling and eating better in a few days. They gave her some fluids while she was there and another anti-nausea injection. They also gave her some special soft food to eat and she did eat some and seemed to like it so the vet sent enough home for a few days. I fed her some this morning but she only ate about a tablespoon but that's a tablespoon more food that she was eating when we took her in yesterday.
Well, I better go get ready for therapy. Have a wonderful rest of the day!

Prayers Pat for Jerry and you. Some answers, hopefully things will start looking up and he can soon get back on cancer meds.
Great loss Geri, I would have to cut off an arm to have a loss like that. Kudos. Happy you enjoyed your short trip.
Our only TV source I Dish Network. We are very rural and set low in the trees on north and west side of house. We are basic Dish at that, no Hopper or player/ recorder. As long as he can get his westerns we are good. As most of you have probably gathered I am not a worldly person. Give me my basics, my sewing machine, flowers, nature, family, I’m good.
Humidity about 90%, to be about 90, we did get a short shower this morning. Looking forward to 80’s in a day or two.
Been going through some drawers this morning, kinda down memory lane. Found some things I will be giving to Robert and Brenda. Brenda’s 50th birthday is Saturday and I was looking for a coin type thing my mother gave me and if I find it will pass it on to her. Will give her the other things I found today. I did pass the Gold Dollar the gentleman gave me at the car dealership on to her last evening. She has signed up for a half marathon this fall in Des Moines. If I had a bit of her gusto and energy.
Jane, last night I was wishing I had your knowledge of these technologies apparatuses. My Apple iPad screen locked up. Messed with it for awhile then went to bed. Woke about 2:30, got up and started searching for ways to unlock it. Finally got it. Went back to bed and didn’t wake till 7:30 when Steven called to say John and Larry were taking him gambling in Tama. I already Shayna moving to NC as she always helped me figure things out. Kyla also helps me now but she is moving to the Kansas City area. Brenda does help but she has lass patience. Can’t ask Rob as he knows less than I, they have no internet in their home.

Pat, never feel bad about venting here. You are under a tremendous amount of pressure. Thank goodness you found out some information about Jerry. Still thinking of you both.
Katie is 2 already, Sharon? Wow! Enjoy your time with both of them. Haha about the dark spots. I've had similar things happen.
Kapok Tree sounds like great fun, Ruth.
AOTD: According to Business Week theses are the best streaming services for 2021. Which do you have for on demand viewing (even if not mentioned)? If you do not have cable, which Live TV service do you have? Do you like what you are using? If they are paid services do you feel they are worth the price? Good questions! I'm interested in what the rest of you have to say. I have indicated those I have.
*Best on-demand video streaming services: Netflix, Disney Plus, HBO Max, Hulu, Peacock, Apple TV Plus, Paramount Plus, and Amazon Prime Video.
*Best live TV streaming services: Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, Sling TV, FuboTV, Philo TV, and AT&T TV.
I like those I have. I discontinued HBO Max because I was subscribing to too many, but might return. DD put me on Spectrum for a router and I think that is how I stream too. I am not sure how this all works yet, but it is MUCH less costly. I got PBS Passport in CT, but they do not stream live here. I have to find out if I can transfer Passport to SC PBS.
You lost weight on your trip, Geri? Awesome!
Thank goodness about Molly, Vicki. It was great to see you looking a bit more comfortable on zoom.
Karen E, I call Apple Support if I have trouble. They have been wonderful.
I have had a terrific day already. I went to Aqua Zumba first. OMG, what an aerobic workout! The leader is a hoot. She knows all the songs and sings along and makes gestures to emphasize the words. She is a bundle of energy and a joy to watch. I love this class. I am somewhat of a klutz but nobody can see what my feet are doing so who cares?
After that I went home to shower, then went to the gym for a meeting with my personal trainer. Doing better each time. I had signed up for a quick start of 4 sessions, but think I will continue seeing him maybe once a week to check in and see what needs adjustment, what I can add, etc. I want to continue to go to that fitness center 3 times a week. It had been a while since I did strength and resistance training and I know it is important.
Yesterday a woman from the welcoming committee came over. She gave me some materials and scads of info. I told her I was looking for: a housekeeper, a handyman, and someone to drive me to and from the airport. She called back today with a list of names. Everybody here is welcoming, but she was special.
Something weird happened. My trip to Chautauqua NY for a week of lectures, cultural events, etc is coming up and I got a call from the institute asking if I was still rooming with my long-time friend since she was registered as a single. I told them there must be a mistake as we had decided to room together. Nope! She apparently changed her mind and never told me. She is the woman who shoved me aside to get photographed in the middle of the three of us who are going on this trip. I don't know if it's because she's embarrassed at what she did or upset that I said something. Either way, it's probably just as well! Still love her...
DD and fam are leaving CT on the 31 and will be arriving here to a rental the 1st or 2nd of August. They will stay there until their house is built. It may not be that long. I know they will all love the life down here, but it is wrenching for them to be leaving the town they have been in for 15 years. DGD16's friends gave her a going-away party and her BFF gave her an album with over 100 photos of them together from over the years. I feel for her. DGS will be going away to college...also a big adjustment. And DD will be very emotional about his not being around as they are very close. DSIL has to find employment down here too. Adjustments all around.
Doing some laundries and will go for a walk later if the weather permits.
Ciao for now.

Gail Kallie will be 3 in September. How time flies. Do you have to buy new furniture now and if so how is that going. I’m still wanting until fall for our bedroom furniture.
Rather than have Brenna come here today I told her we’d stop by tomorrow and pick up the patches. We have some shopping to do and will be near her neighborhood.
Rain has dropped so we have one small outdoor project to do. Put up all the plants around the mailbox

Sharon, I do have to buy new furniture. I brought down my bed, a dresser, a coffee table, and a small dining table. Nothing for the guest room. I also do not have one painting on the wall.
3? A delicious age. I feel blessed to have lived long enough to see my DGS about to go away to college and my DGD 16 get a license. I doubt that I will ever see a Great Grand. Give Kallie an extra hug for me.

Finally got the one bunch of stuff sold. I just kept hearing from this woman since Monday and she always gave an excuse for not showing. I told her I had to leave at noon and she again backed out because she was sending her son and it was raining so he had to wait. Then she let me know he would get here before noon. Then that car had a problem so had to go home and get another car. I told her I would stay home until 12:45 and he was on the way and would be here at 12:30. I was to be at clubhouse atv1 He got here atv1:15 and was driving a jag!, he was a kid. Might have been 18 but I had it all packed up and gave cloth bags full of mostly pfaltzgraff and he handed me the money. So I arrive over 20 minutes late. Yesterday I arrived 20 minutes late. And Tuesday night my partner made me late. All week I have been rushed. Yesterday the truck arrived with my roof tiles and woke me up at 6:30. This morning I dreamed someone was banging on door…got up..dressed..no one there so sat and read a page and went to sleep with my glasses on and the book in my hand and slept over an hour. I am glad this sell worked but sure was a struggle for me. Another couple of interested people today but no one saying they are on their way.
I need to feed Kelcy and myself. Been living on salad each night and need some thing different

Our Kapok Tree luncheon and tour with our Senior group was fun. I took tons of pics but it was a rainy day so only posted 2 on FB. We were stuck in a traffic mess on I-75 due to an accident so we got off at Lois Ave. and took the long route home, which I am sure was quicker than being stuck on the expressway. Geri, Congrats on that AWESOME 3 lb weight loss. Noom is working for you! BRAVO! AOTD: According to Business Week theses are the best streaming services for 2021. Which do you have for on demand viewing (even if not mentioned)? If you do not have cable, which Live TV service do you have? Do you like what you are using? If they are paid services do you feel they are worth the price? *Best on-demand video streaming services: Netflix, Disney Plus, HBO Max, Hulu, Peacock, Apple TV Plus, Paramount Plus, and Amazon Prime Video (which we only have to save shipping on Prime like Vicki). *Best live TV streaming services: Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, Sling TV, FuboTV, Philo TV, and AT&T TV. Like Gail, I highlighted those that we have and I love them all. I will get my 6 months free APPLE TV soon but will only continue if I feel it is worth it. I am going to get PBS Passport because AMAZON PRIME users can get it for $3.99 a month. That was the only thing we were missing as we do get local stations on HULU Live for the weather.Karen E, You are like me, if I have a problem with an electronic device I am not going to get my sleep unless I can get it figured out. Glad you got your iPad working Gail has more faith in Apple support than I do. If you remember I was on the phone with them for 4 hours and they could not solve my problem, which is why I got a new phone. Expensive! Sharon, I also had a hard time believing that Kallie is almost 3 already. Where does the time go? Gail, OMG...what kind of friend is that? To change her reservation to single without telling you is unacceptable! What if you were on a budget and could not afford to go as a single. But you are right, if she has an issue it is better that you are rooming without her. Jane, How do you keep your sanity? People are so unreliable. Glad it finally worked out but sorry it made you late!
