Morning All!
Lin I really loved your post about those born circa 1900. They lived through so much and yet married, started families and carried on. Our small inconveniences (when the cell phone canât get reception, etc.) are very small in comparison. Perspective and mind set are key in having a happy life and in just about everythingâŠ.
Phyl I donât think you should let your friendâs lapse bother you. Obviously she was sick and had other priorities getting ready for surgery. Making sure her husband was taken care of was probably top of her list. She also may have been just too sick to go through the details again. Iâm sure there was no slight intended. Reach out to her husband and find out how sheâs doing â maybe take him out to dinner. Iâm sure it will be appreciated by the both of them.
Connie really loved your memory of your family road trip. The summer before my father died we took a 2 1//2 week car trip through New England. There were several of those special kinds of motels along the way â not the big, franchise types, just the ten unit kinds nestled in the back roads. Every night we sat around the AAA trip ticks and picked out the sites for the next day. It was a wonderful trip, full of really great memories.
The weather man is predicting heavy storms again this afternoon and into the night. We are less than an inch away from the top record rainfall for this area ever and we just might go over the top today. The princess slept really well last night â didnât move a muscle, so it must have been a storm that unnerved her the night before. Poor baby â sheâs going to get it again tonight.
I have an appointment to get cortisone shots in both of my hands this afternoon. Pretty sad when youâre looking forward to something like that. I used to think I had fat hands, but in the last year or so, they have definitely slimmed down and they are becoming boney. My one sister has pretty hands, long and slender fingers, perfect for her quilting hobby â was always wistful when looking at her hands â stupid things we waste our time on.
Wishing everyone a pleasant day!

Good morning Dayle & ATF,
Cloudy and yes storms coming this afternoon. Temp. In the 70's today.
Nothing doing here; street still closed to traffic and they are doing in front of my house today. This should all be done by tomorrow. Hope the rain holds out for them.
Have a great day!

Good morning. Dayle, ouch...cortisone shots in your hands. Hope it helps.
Bad news again from here. DH fell again this morning. For the past few days his feet, ankles and up to his knees have been quite swollen. Also his L hand up to his elbow. Lots of pain in that L shoulder and arm. Had to call 911 because I can't help much with the arthritis in my back, hips and ankles. He is not happy that I had him transferred and they will be admitting him which makes him even more upset. He is of course blaming me for all his problems and has been very angry and irritable for the past few days. Just had a call from the hospital. They will admit him because his heart isn't working so well right now.
I am not feeling very well. The stress has elevated causing continuous headache and upset stomach. Don't feel that I can drive 40 miles right now but as with most patients he's only thinking about his problems.

HI CALLERS, BETTY, I hurt for you and Dave having another trip to the hospital again. please take care of yourself so you do not end up in the hospital.
try this exercise. get in your quiet place eyes closed, breathe in slow deep breaths and let out your breaths very slowly.do this several times a day. I have read this is suppose to help with high blood pressure .e don't need you going to the hospital as a patient.
PENNY I have left several messages,RONNIE knows my voice, and where we live. I know he is staying by MARY JO"S side, maybe having to make small trips,we are less then 5 minutes from each other by the car.walking is longer.
I am not ready to knock on the door.
this am was the dentist ,this crown is done..took along time and $$$$
she reminded me the other tooth needs a root canal ,I am going to wait for awhile. I have 10 crowns in my mouth.
at 3 is the cat scan, hope we find out something. probably will not hear till tomorrow.phyl

Good morning everyone
Betty- I am so sorry Dave is back in the hospital. Hopefully wonât be there long.
Dayle - I am such a injection baby that would be hard for me. Hope it helps you.
Phyl- I seemed to have pulled away a little from my friends lately. I donât feel like socializing right now. I do this when sick or stressed. Glad you are having the test today. Hopefully you get results quickly.
Today is second day of lip medicine. So far going ok. Thank goodness no allergic reactions. According to my doctor the blisters wonât start until around 5th day or so. I am glad I am getting lips healthy. Focusing on the positive outcome. I can get through this. Lol lol
Hope I find glasses I like when we go to the eye doctor today.

Mar, good luck picking out new glasses. I love to get new frames. A fashion statement!! With dark circles and puffiness under my eyes, my glasses hid that a bit. My new ones are dark wine with a swirl like pattern. All the way around the lens this time. ( I have dark brown hair with some natural highlights and I am tan) Know what you mean about not getting in touch with friends lately. I am not in a very good place right now and it is hard to explain how I feel. and most days don't want to talk. Just me myself and I these days. Glad your salve is doing okay and no reaction. I never get a reaction from anything. I do read the paper though when taking a new prescription.
Betty I am so sorry that you get blamed each time Dave has a set back. You didn't cause the swelling and it is certainly caused by his own heart. I could not drive that 40 miles when under stress like you are. Do NOT blame your self for any of that.
My tummy a bit off today. I do need gas in car and a trip to the ATM and have a package I need to take to post office. Going to wait on all of that for a bit. maybe tummy will straightened out.
Phyl, good luck with new test. hope when this is all said and done, you will know what you are dealing with and what to do about it. thinking of you!!

Hi all,
Bettye, I am so sorry to hear about Dave falling. EMT personnel usually take a person to the hospital who falls, especially if they have done it a few times. But it is so hard on the family, especially you, to have him in the hospital again. We'll pray that they can stabilize his heart quickly and he can come home again.
Mar, the few times that my DH used my computer he did nothing but complain about the touch screen. He holds the laptop on his big tummy and he holds it by the screen. And every time his hand would slip a little the screen would disappear or he would end up on another screen that he didn't know where he was. I wrote the directions for shutting the machine off on a post-it note and left it on the keyboard. He couldn't figure it out and left the machine on most of the time. I'm not looking forward to him having a new laptop. I'm glad that at least he will not have to deal with the touch screen. I have a feeling that he had Windows 7 and he will now have Windows 10. Best Buy did all the setup for him, thank goodness. We bought the Geek package for a year so all our computers are safe for a while. And this particular agreement also covers the computers on all our other appliances and the cars. Geek support for all of that. I think that my DH is having some dementia issues and he is frustrated with anything new or different.
We are expecting some thunderstorms this afternoon. And we are under a tornado watch until 9:00pm. We have not had the really large, dangerous tornados in this area just some smaller ones that tear up a couple trees or so. But they do call for the watches. Ed got the call yesterday that his laptop was ready to pick up. So he made an appointment to pick it up and then he has gone to the grocery store to get a few things. So it is quiet here right now. I want to work on my puzzle for a while today and possibly do some sewing. It sounds like we may be heading to mandatory masks in this area again.
Have a good one.

Happy Day All!
BettyJ - am so sorry to hear about Dave's fall and subsequent admission. As before, he's where he needs to be. Also, we tend to take our frustrations out on those we are closest to - no worry they'll leave! A friend used to preach we need to be at least as nice to our family as we are to our friends. Good advice, I have to remind myself of sometimes! Again - take care of YOU!
Lin - have seen that bear pic before. A friend of a friend up here had an enclosed porch with no stairs. One year a mama bear would climb up the supports with her two cubs. She'd take a nap in a corner in the shade and they'd play on the porch furniture, like in a playpen. When she was done with her nap, down they'd go! Sorry if I've told this story before!
Dayle - our apples are gala apples, but were picked before ripe, and are kinda small - not like you see in the grocery store. Still good, though. Particularly for apple cake!
Didn't go to Costco today, friend's ankle is out of whack. Hopefully next week. I've just been doing laundry and cleaning out the cupboard under the master bath sinks. Getting rid of a lot of old meds. Can take them to Walgreen's or the sheriff's office. We'll see.
Emily - hopefully it's not too noisy with them working on your street.
A good friend/neighbor in Panama City is being tested for COVID this afternoon. I was with her a couple of times last week, including last Saturday, so am awaiting her results. Was going to visit my friend today who has COPD, and take her some apples, but that's out! I feel fine.
Like many of you, I don't seem to want to call friends or talk/visit. After a year of partial isolation, and all the crap going on in the world, I just don't feel very social. I did walk a mile this morning - all by myself!
Dryer buzzer has called me. Take care all. Cheers!

Here in Nebraska like much of the US we don't have to wear masks because our numbers are low. So it was interesting that we were asked to wear masks at the funeral yesterday. And social distance. I found out why. Quite a few older men have died recently in my home town, all I knew. On the last funeral, one of the funeral workers had symptoms of covid. He was tested and tested positive +. He already had the shot and his symptoms were mild but because of this they asked all of us to wear masks again. We have had both our shots as have all my immediate family that were there. But I was happy to oblige.
Betty I'm so sorry for your DH set back. So hard for you and you need to care for yourself too.
Another hot day. Dried clothes outside and when we took them inside they felt like we had just taken them out of the dryer!
