Don't be afraid to love yourself!
Not exactly weight related, but here are a few quotes from our friend, Dolly Parton on how to be good to yourself.
1. Travel through life by faith. Everyone knows that Dolly is a very religious person. 2. Reset yourself with a good read. Dolly says her favorite pastime is reading. She reads every day & reads herself to sleep every night. Her favorite author is Lee Smith. She seldom reads the same book twice. 3. Prioritize yourself. In life it is important to know your weaknesses, Dolly advises. Write them down on a piece of paper, all your good points & all your bad points. Then see which balance out the most. Life is like a battery, you have to have the negative & the positive to make it work. 4. Follow one rule. Treat everyone the way you want to be treated. 5. Find peace outside. Get out and explore nature, Dolly suggests. Just being outside is so good for the soul, just seeing all things new & growing is very refreshing. 6. Joy is an inside job! You've got to kick your own butt! This is how Dolly motivates herself. Not to blame others for your problems, but to make yourself do something about it.
Any of Dolly's ideas speak to you? Do you already do any of these things?
FUN: Are you a fan of Dolly's, if so, what is your favorite Dolly song? Do you like her movies?

Any of Dolly's ideas speak to you? Do you already do any of these things? I think she is a wiser woman than most realize AND she is a great songwriter that sells her songs as well as keeping some to sing herself. I liked her wise sayings - thank you for finding and sharing themFUN: Are you a fan of Dolly's, if so, what is your favorite Dolly song? Do you like her movies? I have liked some of the movies I have seen her in. I think it was 9-5 that was the best that I saw? I don't know how many she has been in? I don't know her songs by name so???

When the vaccines were being developed, I thought it was very generous for her to make a donation to help fund the process.
Reading - I like to read, but (unlike Dolly) often re-read the same book. Sometimes I rush to see how a book turns out and then re-read to savor it more. Some, I've read often, doesn't matter to me that I know the outcome.
Listing traits - Interesting idea to list (and acknowledge) the negatives/weaknesses and relate them to the positive.
Without resorting to Google, I can't remember specific song titles, but enjoy her music.

I think "9 to 5" was her masterpiece. I guess "I Will Always Love You" was the most profitable thing that she ever wrote. She said that when she sang it she opened a bank account & when Whitney Houston sang it, she bought a bank. LOL Got to run, have a good one.

She makes some good points there. I like to read too, but I seldom read a book twice. There are a few I have.
I like Dolly Parton. The only movie I saw was 9 to 5. I Will Always Love You is a favorite song, also Islands in the Stream by Dolly and Kenny Rogers.

Thanks for finding those. I guess I never thought of Dolly Parton as a wise woman, but she seems to have her priorities in order. Especially treat others as you want to be treated.
The only movie I really remember is 9 to 5 but have watched it many times. I really like Islands in the stream with Kenny Rogers and also she has a new Christian single out with Zach Williams called "There was Jesus". They won a Grammy for that song.
