Good morning friends. Slept well just not long enough. My mind just wouldn't 'shut off'. I'm sure y'all can relate.
It's supposed to rain on and off today. I heard from Linda and Mike and we want to get together. I suggested going out to eat. She will get back to me today. They are not real 'restaurant people' so we'll see how that pans out. With all the rain we've had I don't want to 'risk it' and get eaten alive even with the fire candles and bug zapper. My face and body is a mess with bites as it is.
After coffee I shall sit and plan/track my day.
Judy I think it's great that you are willing to commute to work. Only way you'll know if it's a good fit is to try it and then decide. Great that you will drive to see your new grandson Blake That will be your chicken soup for the soul. Also praying that the purchase and sale agreement goes smoothly. Sounds like you have solid home buyers not the 'fly by night' variety! Always a good sign. Enjoy your hair color Pam you and I are having the same weather deal. It's supposed to rain once again today. I know I sound like a broken record so I'll close my eyes to it all I know, easier said than done. Happy you are listening to books to block out 'Blondie' Reading is such a great way to escape. One of the reasons why I love to read. Another pastime of mine is coloring on my phone Poor Sadie!

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
TGIF!! I slept well also and woke about 6:45. I thought I might sleep later since I did so much yesterday and was quite tired last night. But I woke at my "usual time" and felt rested enough to get up and drink coffee.
Our promised cool-down has arrived!! Woke to temps in the mid-60's so, of course, the first thing I did was open all the doors and windows and let in the cool fresh air. It promises to stay more reasonable for the next few days which will be fine with me! I was bemoaning just last night the fact that we have brand new patio furniture (which we haven't been using) and a dining table and chairs on the covered front porch (which we haven't been using) and when the cold weather comes, we will be forced indoors again. I do realize that sitting out with the heat and humidity is not attractive, but I really miss it!! Maybe this weekend we can sit outdoors for a bit?? I watched the fireflies for a few minutes last night and it was beautiful!
Ann ~ Hope you can make plans for this evening that is agreeable to you and the other couple. I know DH and I have not been as big restaurant goers as we were before the pandemic, but to meet up with friends we make an exception. Hopefully your friends will do the same.
Judy ~ Sounds like you're on track with the sale of your house. You took on some extra work with being your own sales rep and realtor, but look at all you're learning! Surely that will pay off in the long run? Of course, this one will be the most difficult since it's YOUR house! But that should make future ones even easier?? I am so glad you will get to go and see the new baby before you go to California. Also it is great that you have this California trip coming up for a distraction from all the hard work you are putting in. Speaking of work, it may seem like a challenge right now to have to make a quick decision about your job, but perhaps it will end up being all for the best in the long run.
Pam ~ Yikes about the lightening strike ... and poor kitty! Our storms recently have been much worse than usual. DH mentioned last night that we seldom/never have "just rain" .... it's always a deluge with subsequent flooding - except for the days that we had tornadoes! What ever happened to simple summer rain storms?? You are so good about visiting your patients and I am sure the time spent means the world to them (especially your little man).
I don't have anything on my agenda for today but my to-do list definitely includes some time on the patio pruning the petunias, which have enjoyed another growth spurt and need to serious cutting back. I think that will about do it, but you know how that goes? I'll find other things along the way. I have already made the bed and cleaned up the kitchen, so once I shower and wipe down the bathroom, I'll consider the house done. Then I'll walk, and work on my flowers.
Tomorrow is another free day (I love those!) and Sunday we are driving to E. Lansing to spend some time with our (former) MSU student. Though she has moved back to Missouri for her grad work, she is in MI this weekend for her hubby to attend a buddy's bachelor party here. She is staying in Grand Rapids (she had hoped to be here but that didn't work out) so she asked if I'd be willing to "meet her halfway" and told me she will be staying with her in-laws. It is funny but E. Lansing (where she used to live) is exactly halfway between us. She is busy choosing a movie for us to go see and a restaurant for dinner. When she was in college we frequently saw a movie when we went to take her to dinner. This will be a continuation of a fun tradition for us. I am looking forward to seeing her and catching up.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue tonight has been called off. Mike woke with a horrible sinus headache and I can so relate to that. We'll do it another time for sure. Yes this pandemic surely has changed our lifestyle! Sounds like you have a few things to do and then Sunday you can enjoy being with a former student. Have fun catching up and also pruning the petunias Great that you cool down is happening. It's not bad here. Last night we got hammered once again with rain thunder and lightening. We were supposed to get more rain today...but thank God it went just north of us. Not going to hurt my feelings one bit!!!!! My day is planned and tracked. I had oatmeal with blueberries and cinnamon for breakfast. Lunch will be soup and the rest of the tomato salad and for supper we are having cheeseburgers sweet potato fries and I'm going to make a small salad as well. We have plenty of fresh fruit FF Greek yogurt and hummus to snack on. I've balanced the checkbook and paid bills. Now going to sit and relax with a sparking water and read a bit. Tootles....

Back from our final hood/potty walk of the day. It's beautiful out there. We got to chat with some super like minded neighbors which is always a treat. Now time to open the kindle. Sweet dreams

Today was another busy day and somewhat frustrating working on some of the real estate software at lunchtime and not being familiar enough to accomplish anything! I finally called Pan, my savior/mentor real estate friend. She came over and within 15 minutes had it all done! I can’t rest till I know things are in order and I’ll be away all weekend and Pam’s on vacation next week. She’s reachable though. We are vacationing at an inopportune time but it can’t be helped and we want to enjoy it. The home inspection is the next hurdle- ugh. The list of items he checks is pages long! Oh well, We’ll see!
My hair appointment went well. She colored it and did a quick trim. I feel better. Then I went to Carter’s to buy a few new outfits for little Blake! And of course, one matching outfit for his bug brother. It’ll be a quick trip down but I’ll be glad to see him!
I’m glad you are all doing well and it’s good to hear of your activities and reading, gardening and more. I can’t wait for that time soon. Thanks fir your solid advise regarding work. I’ll definitely give it a try to commute two days a week and if that’s too much, I’ll retire.
We watched some Olympics but not as much as usual.
Meals have been simple and I’ve probably grabbed more snacks than I should. In a few months we’ll be settled but a lot of work ahead.
Have a great night friends!
