This is a monthly thread for those of us who have a lot of weight to lose. The definition of “a lot” is something that is determined personally, so everyone who feels they have a lot of weight to lose is welcome to post here.
Please join us in offering support, checking in for accountability, help with questions, etc. We’re in this for the long haul.
We’d also love to hear from those of you who are maintaining a large loss. We need those tips to help us to keep the weight off once we lose it.

Hi sunrose - Thanks for starting our thread for the month. Good luck with getting on track and having a loss this month. I was a bit disappointed at my weigh-in. I had weighed about a week or so ago, and was expecting to see the same weight. Today I was up about a pound from that weight! What's that about??? I feel like I'm starving, and I sure haven't been overeating. I know it's probably just my body and it might be that I'm not eating enough, as strange as that always seemed to me. So I'll see how the next 2 weeks go. Hope all of your are doing well and that you'll check in and let us know - take care

Cj, sorry about the small gain but I think you are right. Our bodies hold on when you start eating less. Could be water too. Hang in there and keep doing what you are doing.

My ds is here for a week. So far not making good choices. He is going to help me with things around the house. I so need to get my act together 🙄

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well sunrose - I'm glad your DS is there and helping you with things around the house, I hope you can get a lot done This first week of August has been a very off-track, overeating, week for me. I'll be glad to put it behind me and get back on track. I'm not even going to go near the scale, because I know seeing a gain will put me right off track again. It's really scary how quickly a day or two off track can lead to 3 days, and then 4 days and then a week I've been having some pain in one of my knees, I get that from time to time, and so I haven't been able to walk each day. I think I used that as an excuse to just eat everything in sight (including junk I bought at the grocery store). Take care everyone!

Hello everyone!
Just popping in to say hi.
I have not been trying to lose weight at all the past while; I've gained about another five pounds.
I was just feeling very restricted and like I wasn't in a good place with it, so I took some time away. The time that I intentionally decided to focus on other things was ok, but when I tried to recommit, it didn't go well and I wasn't able to stick to anything for more than a few days.
I hope you are all doing well!

Hi wwlurker - I'm glad you checked in. Sorry you've been off track. Hope you can get back on track when you are ready I got rid of all the junk food this weekend, so I'm working on staying on track this week. I will have a bit of a temptation since I have to be in a few stores one day. Since I don't go out very much, I'm very weak about resisting treats when I do go out. Hopefully I can limit anything I buy. Hope everyone is having a good day and that we all have a great week!

Hello Everyone - Hope you are doing well Looks like this will be a quiet month for our thread I've stayed on track all week, after the off track week last week. I'll be weighing on Sunday, the 15th since I'm just doing a twice a month weigh-in. I hope the bad week of overeating will be countered by this good week. I am getting a bit frustrated by all of this again, so I sure hope to see a loss to motivate me. I haven't been able to walk for a few weeks, since I don't want to aggravate my knee. I'm also only eating about 1200-1300 calories a day and I know that's probably not enough, but I just feel "afraid" to eat more. I'm trying to add in a day or two each week of higher calories. The other day I was counting out 6 pickles (a serving for sweet ones) and just thought to myself that it's ridiculous that I have to count pickles before I eat them Take care everyone and have a good weekend!

Hi sunrose - Hope you are doing well I weighed in this morning and was very happy to see a loss since the 1st of the month, especially after that really bad first week of August. But this confuses me so much. How can I lose weight when I overate for a week, and then had a week on track. I feel like I don't know how much to eat each day to lose weight. I can't do another week of overeating - it's not good for me or my body. I keep thinking just a day or two a week of higher calories, but then I go through a week and end up eating in the same calorie range each day. It's all just so difficult At least the good thing is I'm only 5 or so pounds away from the goal I set for myself for the beginning of October, so maybe it will be possible to meet it now. Hope all of you are doing well and that you are having a good weekend

Cj59, yay on a good WI. That’s awesome that you are so close to your October goal. When I was reading your post it reminded me of how the Wendy plan works. I think we talked about that before. Sometimes at the higher calorie and then going back down it tricks your body. Keep up the good work.

My son has been here about a week and a half. He goes back today I have not made good choices at all but I seem to be maintaining so that’s good. I really need to get back on track.

I hope you are all doing well.
I'm around. I'm really just focusing on trying to eat regularly and to pay attention nutrition at this point.
I would really like to at least lose the weight I gained, but I feel like it came back so quickly, what I was doing was probably not sustainable.
