Wow, thanks everyone!
I do want to say that I had my annual physical last week and for my 50th birthday, my doctor ordered a COLONOSCOPY!!! She said it's a Right of Passage when we turn 50, then she laughed. Not looking forward to that on Monday, May 8th.
Also had to get a mammogram (check!... done!).

Doc told me next time it'll be a 10-day prep!

The first procedure I had was a sigroidoscopy. I don't wish that on anyone! At the time insurance wouldn't do the colonoscopy. The other is done without anesthetic and is the worst thing I've ever had done, even worse than childbirth. Anyway, after that the colonoscopy was a breeze. And I only had a day before the procedure prep, using pills, not the liquid. Last year, when I was due for my next colonoscopy my doctor recommended what he called "poop in a box". You send in a stool sample, and if it's clear you're good for three years. It's not offered to everyone, just those with no issues. So I'm sure the first time around you would have to have the colonoscopy.

I'm on a 3-year recall cycle for the colo due to family history; and also on a recall for an upper endoscopy due to family history of esophageal cancer. Dem's da breaks!
