My spouse just told me it's 84 degrees outside according to her phone. I told her 50 years ago she could have been put in an institution for saying something like that. Lol. Times they are a changin.

It does boggle the mind when you think about the changes that have occurred in our lifetimes. I am somewhat living in the past with all the old movies I watch, not to mention really old Law & Orders. No cell phones at first in that series.

Lani, It must be weird to watch it like that. No cell phones? They must have had pay phones on the street back then.
I took the money out of pay phones when I worked for the phone company.
I have a poster in our office with a picture of Big Foot on a pay phone with two people hiding behind a tree peeking out at him.
One says to the other you never see that anymore. The other person says it's true you never see or hear anything about Big Foot anymore. The other person says, "I mean the pay phone!"

I remember getting son a cell phone in high school (not that long ago) because there were no pay phones on campus! They kids had 1 call per semester they could make from the office, that was it.

They must have had pay phones on the street back then. You got it. So OT, but remember that scene in Rosemary's Baby where she has to tie up the phone booth with a fake call so she could get the call back from the doctor?

I spent quite a few years in the "Coin" department, which was the one for payphones. I never had to take the money out of the phones, but I had several friends who did during strikes, and I working in the counting room during one strike.
