I'm glad it's cooled down there for you. We have two days left of high 90's then Wed will start a cool spell. I hope to get some outside work done on thos days.
Well I made a huge mistake on the blanket and have to rip out at least 8 rows on each side and the main problem is I've woven in all the ends and when I weave, I weave a lot. So getting this ripped out will be the biggest problem.
I might just set it aside and start the next one on my list but I hate to do that because I may then never get back to it. It's so pretty though that I'd like to get it completed.

Ruth, that stinks when you must rip out many rows….hope the beauty of the project inspires you to finish it now, so that you can keep your inspiration going the momentum to finish the afghan. I made a mistake today also, had to rip out two rows. By mistake I had started the wrong color . Hope that they are right about the cool spell for you!! Do you have much you want to get done outside?
Its still not really cool here, but surely better than the extreme heat and humidity we had, which actually made me feel sick, even in air conditioning.
CJ- Phyl, Sue… hope you had a good Monday to start your week. Ginny

Ginny, sorry you had to rip out rows also. It's so frustrating when we do a silly thing that causes us more work. Picking up the wrong color is something I would do accidentally also. Yes the colors have definitely inspired me to go on. I ripped out all the rows that needed ripped then I actually found another mistake so had to take out more rows. I do have those crocheted back in and now am on the second row of the initial ripped out rows on the first side. The mistake that caused me to have to do more rows was because I didn't realize that each section had to seven rows and that section ended up with 8. This is probably really confusing to everyone but I still at that point didn't realize that so all I really had to do was remove that 8th row instead of that whole section. I do have a lot I could do outside but I will start with the most important and see how things go.

Good morning, just talked to my nutritionist, she gave me some ideas, does not think it is gluten.I can try a piece of bread and see how I feel. She can't stand green bananas either.
I don't mind if they start turning a little yellow, but a whole green banana yuck. I don't want to give up a banana every day.probably have between 9-13 pounds off now and still cannot get in my regular old clothes.that is what gets me.
yesterday I finished cutting out 2 and 1/2 inch squares, Then read they should have been 2 inches.
I am not trimming them down,by the time I get all 4 sides sewed 1/4 inch
also.they won't be that big. so the wall hanging/table mat won't be that much bigger.
I do have a couple more small projects I want to take and need to cut on those. I will work on the big projects at home.
Cj I am thinking about the silent night snowman project, don't know buy one or two? then I think I have Not gotten the jelly roll snowflake one done. phyl

Hello Everyone It's very humid and muggy here, even though temps are only in the 80s. Looks like we'll have some rain or storms each day this week! Hope your weather is nicer. Ginny - Sorry the heat/humidity mad you feel sick, and I'm glad you are getting some cooler weather. Ruth - Sorry you had to tear out some of your project, and I hope things get back on track with it. Phyl - Hope some of the tips the nutritionist gave you will help. I'm glad you can still use those squares even if they are a bit bigger, it's worth not losing all your work. I enjoyed the quilt along by this quilter last year, so I can recommend that you might just want to sign up for the quilt along so you can get the emails with the patterns and then decide from there - it's free. I didn't order her panels last year, I just fussy cut a center block instead of putting in the pre-printed piece or doing the embroidery and I'll probably do that again this year. I'm hoping I have a snowman fabric I can use. Sue - Hope things are going well with your and your DH. I went out and bought some groceries this morning and I'm glad to be done with that for several weeks. It may just be the store I went to, but I noticed they were a bit low on some stock. I did some work yesterday on the quilt using those fabrics I've had for awhile. This quilt will be a bed runner size - long and rectangular. I can already see how I want to quilt it and I think I'll try to do that on my regular machine instead of pulling out the heavy duty one. Hope all of you get to do some crafting. Take care!

Phyl- its encouraging to hear that you can loosen up a little bit on your dietary constraints….hope that you are quickly able to find what works for your body so that you can live more comfortably. Yes we all have our favorite banana color. If they are too dark I freeze them to use in smoothies…and I like bananas just turning yellow. Think as long as you are consistent the issue cutting the squares a little bit too large should not be a problem.
Ruth, well I guess it was good fortune that you found that initial mistake on the afghan as it allowed you to notice the second mistake. Are you all caught up now??
Ran some errands this am and got a walk in . Think I will read or crochet a bit. Ginny

Phyl, I'm glad the dietician was able to adjust your food allowances so that the eating plan is more to your taste. Yes those blocks will still work.
CJ, It's always so good to have the grocery shopping done. The quilt along sounds really good esp in that it is free. I hope the humidity goes down. High humidity really does make higher temperatures feel even worse.
Ginny, Sorry the heat made you feel so sick. I hope it stays a little on the cooler side at least. It's much more bearable. It's great you were able to get errands done and are back home and can relax and read or crochet.
I think I'm back on track and maybe THIS WEEK the blanket will be done.I did start a couple little things on Sunday when I was mad at myself for making that mistake. I'm behind on hats. I now owe six so I started one on Sunday and also started a potholder for dgs and dgd's apartment. I haven't heard that they've found one yet. I may set that one aside though and make a set of my usual thermal stitch hotpads and potholders with a matching hanging towel and maybe dishclothes for them.I also want to make a couple little things for the dgd who's birthday this coming Sunday. I'll do as usual and send the package later so she can enjoy the gifts from her immediate family then a week or so later with get the package from Grandpa and me
Oh, now crocheting but first dish washing

Phyl - The blocks are finishing at 12.5 inches, so I believe that center block will be 4.5 inches. Ruth - Fussy cutting is taking a fabric and cutting a piece of it to fit a size block. Most of the time the cut is from a design on the fabric - like a fabric with pictures of snowmen on it and you could cut out a piece that is just one snowman. Here's an article about it: www.quiltingdaily.com/top-ten-fussy-cutting-tips/

CJ- we were posting at the same time…..so sorry I missed your post earlier. Yeah it’s been pretty muggy by me also, so as much as it’s cooler it’s not tremendously comfortable. Glad you got some errands done and the food shopping done. I am also noticing somethings are short stock or out of stock in the store. I think I’ve heard they say this could go on for another year.
Ruth, I’m glad that you were making progress on the blanket, and you were able to make a pot holder for your grandkids.
Phil, it does sound like you’re going to try and sign up for that call salon.I hope you can find some fabric that in your stash that will work perfectly for it.
I’m gonna have to take out a few more rows of the Afghan, as at the color join some of it’s unraveled a little bit I must not of secured it well enough. I think it’s only four rows that I have to take out and they go quickly. I’ll do that tomorrow. Have a good night all.

Thank you CJ, that is interesting and it's exactly what I want to do with my Peanuts fabric. I love how they put that frame around the one they cut in a hexagon shape. I've never seen that before and it's so nice.
Phyl, if what you're saying is that you don't want to cut some of your fabric because you might want to use it for something else later, I can sure relate. I'm always saving yarn in case I want to make something different or better. I don't know why because I need to use it up.
Ginny, wow, I'm sure sorry to hear that you have to pull out even more rows. I definitely feel your pain. I'm glad it's an easy pattern for you to do that without too much frustration.

Good morning all! I did just sign up for the snow man sew along….I remember the night I attempted to do so their web site or my internet access was a bit erratic and I had no luck being able to do so. It looks like such a cute mini quilt…thanks so much CJ for finding such a cut project for us.
Ruth, you are absolutely right, that Christmas mini quilt project could be done with any cute print of the right size….and you could make an adorable Peanuts mini quilt for yourself or as a gift.
Yeah, I will have to rip out a few rows….think its only 5. And you can be sure I will secure my color changes better this time!
Time to put the coffee on Ginny
