Comments I've read about the situation with abortion in Texas: One was the idea that they would force a woman to carry a baby to term but won't force them to wear a mask to protect people from COVID. The other was that COVID had reproductive rights in Texas but women don't.

What these idiots don't seem to realize is that making abortion illegal doesn't stop abortions. It just forces women (and doctors) underground.

I believe they know what will happen, they just don't care.
It takes two to tango, wouldn't it make sense if men stepped up to the plate and took some responsibility and precautions too?
Women could and should encourage their partners cooperation. There are ways. Women need to get creative. One would think.

My understanding is there will be legal challenges and this ruling won't stand. Who knows? bbbearsmom, I would think the civil law suits could only be brought against aiding and abetting an abortion taking place in Texas. So PP would not be in trouble for providing information on how to obtain one elsewhere. But again, who knows what these fanatics will come up with in practice.

This really bothers me. I don't know if we covered this but the woman who has the abortion can't be sued?

This really bothers me. I don't know if we covered this but the woman who has the abortion can't be sued? My understanding is the woman herself can't be sued, only providers and helpers. Also, a Texas judge blocked any suits against PP, so I guess that was a possibility after all.

How about some good news for a change? Pete Buttigieg and his husband Chasten have adopted a baby boy and girl, Joseph August and Penelope Rose. I don't know for sure if they are twins but so happy for them.

I love the names! Thank you for posting this good news. I just finished telling my spouse I'm tired of all bad news all the time and then I saw this post.
I'm wishing that family health, happiness, love, and peace. Congratulations to the new daddies!

birdgal, I fail at posting pictures, links, etc., but if you just google "pete and chasten" the first thing that comes up is CNN and there is an adorable photo of the four of them.

But will PP be sued for the information on their website? You used it first!
