LABOR DAY!
CAIT -- Thanks for the tip for adding the Beck Institute to the home screen. Good job with your HHs! I'm sorry about your grand-dog; it's never easy to let a pet go, is it?
Went to the pool today. There was only one class because of the holiday, and it was really crowded! These classes are very popular! When I went to the campus pool, both as a "student" and a leader, we were thrilled when 6 people would show up! Occasionally we'd have a dozen or so at the beginning of a semester, but then the students would trickle out. Today I counted 38 people! I just finished a stretch session focussing on my low back.
There's no way I'll hit 250 by October, as we're going to Colorado for several days, but I'll keep plugging away!
203/250 miles -- I'm going to have to hoof it during September! 65/75 stretching Stretching: 2018:141;2019:192; 2020:182 2021: Jan.15; February:13; March16; April:17; May:16; June:16; July:14; Aug:17; Sept: 3/30

Good Afternoon Challengers
Yesterday I did 3/6 of my main HHs, stayed in my đ my zone of pts. Strangely, I stayed up late reading and ate tortilla chips, but stopped after one serving. I just didnât want more. They didnât even taste that good. Often that doesnât stop me! đ¤¨đł I overate fruit, but a much better choice.

Yesterday we walked 2.1 mi before breakfast and enjoyed a relaxing afternoon outside. It was warm, in 80âs but we had a nice onshore breeze.

Good Morning!!!
Sorry to be MIA. I had an extra long weekend and enjoyed some time time away from the computer. I added 11 miles Fri-Tuesday. Eating was not too bad other than on Monday as went to a picnic and ate over points.
Carol: Good job on your pool workouts and some walking. Sorry your back is acting up again.
Cait: So sorry about the grand dog. Good job in good days and your consistency with your walks.
Amy: Sorry about your knee. I agree with Cait about doing some leg stretching exercises. Best thing for knee pain.
Waving to all. Happy Walking!!

WEDNESDAY
KELLY -- a digital screen fast is a good idea! Good job with 11 miles!
CAIT -- GFY stopping the tortilla chips after one serving. I once heard the "perfect" number of French Fries is 6; enough to be satisfying, but not too many. Hard to stop, though!
Tuesday, I went for a bike ride (counting 2 miles), and we went to a concert (Sheryl Crow) in an outside venue on a perfect, perfect late-summer night. I'm counting 1 mile for walking to/from parking area. I just got back from the pool (2). I also stretched yesterday.

If I stretch and walk some during my volunteer gig tonight, I'll come back and add those.

Beck Tip of the day: Wednesday Sabotage: Itâs okay to eat this because Iâm having a bad day. Response: Itâs not okay to eat extra, because although my mind knows Iâm having a bad day, my body doesnât. Besides, if I overeat, Iâll feel bad and guilty, which will make me even more unhappy. If I stay on track with my eating, itâs highly likely my day will start to feel better, not worse.Â
I was able to talk with DGDs about school - the 1st grader said she prefers remote, except for recess. Her kinder yr was of course all remote. She says she only likes math, and doesnât like when the teacher has them doing other things, like art! What 6 yr old doesnât like art?! đł Donât know if thatâs because her Mommy was a math teacher. Or maybe because she feels super confident in her math skills. The 4th grader likes math, science, and reading, in that order. Iâm surprised at that too because sheâs a voracious reader. I gave her a whole book series in June and sheâs long since finished them and is reading at a 6th grade level. She used the word âmesmerizedâ in conversation and I said âWow, whereâd you learn that!?â She shrugged and nonchalantly said âReading.â Maybe the reading curriculum is boring at school.
CAROL - wow 38 people for water aerobics! I bet warm weather is a big motivator. My DH has been asking about Tesla and how you charge it, etc. What do you do if you donât park in a garage at home? It should be really nice weather for your CO trip. Glad youâre stressing over the number of miles đ¤. Just take good care of yourself. Interesting re the âperfect number of fries.â Fortunately I seem to have lost any desire for fries. They pretty much look gross to me. Now working on âdetachingâ from tortilla chips, which have been a binge food for me. Awesome you could do the 2 mi bike ride and it doesnât bother your back. And an outdoor concert!!! Wow. Iâve read that NE is pretty Covid safe.
KELLY - GFY with 11 mi for your long weekend and pretty good eating despite the Monday picnic and weekend and holiday vibes.
Be well and take care, for ourselves, and for each other.

Good Morning!!
Nothing much going on with me. I did add 2 miles yesterday and have stuck with the tracking in the app.
Carol: Good job on your walking, biking, water workout, and stretching. The outside concert sounds nice.
Cait: Good job on your miles and HHs.
Waving to all. Happy Walking!!

THURSDAY!
CAIT -- So funny about the DGDs' takes on school! One never knows, I guess! Good job with your HHs and staying w/in your points range.
KELLY -- Another good day walking and tracking! Good job!
About Tesla charging: One big advantage Tesla has is the Supercharging infrastructure; that's how we can travel easily, even coast-to-coast. Some people who live in apartments or condos usually use Superchargers in their area, although that's not the best for the battery, I guess. We charge in the garage (240 outlet), so we get about 25 miles per hour; when we used to park in the FIL's garage we could "trickle charge" using his regular 110 outlet, about 4 miles per hour. Overnight, we'd get 40-50 miles, which isn't too shabby. Like anything, there's a learning curve!
Today there were only 12 of us in the pool for water aerobics, maybe because it was a little cooler this morning. We're looking at hot weather returning this weekend, so I hope we can still have class outside for a couple more weeks.
I'm adding 2 for water aerobics this morning, and 1 for walking at my volunteer gig last night.

Good Evening Dimers
Yesterday I did 3/6 of my main HHs, stayed up way late reading and are into my red zone of pts, but didnât go above it. I didnât even think to use the Beck tip about sabotage thinking đł But I did finish two books Iâd been reading very slowly, and started a new one, so thereâs thatâŚ.đ§

Yesterday we walked 2.1 mi before breakfast.
Beck Tip of the day: Thursday Think Tip: Staying on track â while it can feel very difficult in the moment â is actually a stress-reducer overall, because it gives you something to feel proud of and makes you feel in control.Â
CAROL - GFY with the 2 mi for water aerobics and 1 for your volunteer outing. Thanks for the Tesla info.
KELLY - GFY 2 mi and tracking your food in the app.
Be well and take care, for ourselves, and for each other.

TGIFRIDAY! CAIT -- Your early morning walk sounds so nice! You'll get back to your HHs before you know it! KELLY -- GFY on a good day walking and tracking. I hope you can have a nice visit with your sisters. The other day, my sister asked me what my hubby's name is, and then she asked me what her hubby's name is. I went to the water class this morning. It was a little chilly, but we're expecting temps near 100 tomorrow, so I hope they don't drain the pool too soon. (2). I also stayed a little longer and did my stretching in the water. Have a good weekend, everyone! 213/250 miles 67/75 stretching Stretching: 2018:141;2019:192; 2020:182 2021: Jan.15; February:13; March16; April:17; May:16; June:16; July:14; Aug:17; Sept: 5/30

It was a long day of work
Beck Tip of the day: Friday Weekend Warm-up: If you come in contact with food pushers this weekend, remember that in terms of your eating, you only have to answer to yourself. Donât let comments or predicted reactions from others influence how you eat. Youâre working on healthy eating because itâs an important goal for YOU. You donât need to explain or answer to anybody else about this!Â
Be well and take care, for ourselves, and for each other.
