How are you doing on accepting your body as is?

When I reached my goal weight, I had a talk with myself. I was on the old WW message boards at the time and I had seen a lot of post of members after they reached goal continuing to complain about different aspects of their bodies. I told myself I wasn't going to do that. It took a lot of energy and work to get to goal and I didn't think I had it in me to start reshaping my body with exercise, so no complaining. Right now this is the best I can do and no beating myself up over perceived body faults.

How are you doing on accepting your body as is? * At this age I'm ok with my body at goal but I need to ride my air dyne bike or some form of exercise to firm up my body in legs, arms and waist. When I was younger my body image was really important to me especially when I was a teacher because I felt I was a role model for my students. After I retired in 1995 I went into the bank wearing jeans and tennis shoes, three of my former students, who were working there, were dressed like I dressed when I taught them, we had a good laugh at how our roles had changed with me in the jeans looking like they came to my class.

My body has been good to me, through all the ups and downs on the scale, two childbirths, and surgery. I love it just the way it is. And I look the best I’ve ever looked, to me. 😁 Great stories bbbearsmom & mac. 👍🏽👍🏽

I don't know if this is the "best" I've ever looked, but who pays rational attention to their looks when they are young? I was always zeroing in on some perceived flaw. I do know right now is the best I've ever felt about my body. Hurray for the wisdom that comes with age!

I accept myself as I am. I am 69 and will be 70 in February. I am thankful my body does what needs to be done and so very thankful it is lighter now than it was a year or two ago!

I was one of the few teens who was always paying attention to how I looked. How I looked became a focus for me since I was 9 years old, tall for my age group and fully developed. As adolescence progressed I was always overweight, larger than my classmates and unable to wear clothing that my peers were wearing. At 15 years old I sought guidance from Weight Watchers.
