CJ- congrats on getting that hand pieced quilt top done! What an awesome feeling of accomplishment when you complete something that you envisioned many years ago. Bet it looks great. Makes sense that you will hand stitch the binding. Yay yay yay! You found the pumpkin spice cereal you like! How long can you stretch those 3 boxes out for?? I was just able to find my favorite sugar free peppermint mocha coffee creamer, which I really love. Its just a shame that I can only find it from now until January. Don’t you love this cooler weather?
Ruth- so glad you got all the adult gifts done- now on to the sharks! How many different color sharks will you make?
Spent a bit of time figuring out the ornament construction and started making one. I have to watch the video one more time (oh this woman is SO aggravating ) but I think I have this figured out. Sure nice to play with fabric once again.

CJ, yes that great feeling if happiness that an expert like Pat Sloan complimented will last a long time. And wow, it's great that you got that quilting done that you started so long ago! Do you keep a written record of when you start and complete each quilt? I try to do it with my crocheting by I miss doing that more often than getting it actually written down. It's great too that you were able to find the cereal that you like. I like pumpkin spice too. ONe year dh, who likes Frosted Mini Wheats, bought some of the pumpkin spice flavor and he and my grandaughter who was visiting then, really liked it. Ginny, some of the people that make videos are enough to make you want to tear your hair out. It's so frustrating watching them. I think I will at least try to make six of the baby sharks. I may do all the boys' sharks in grey and the girls' in pink and yellow but I'm not sure yet. Maybe one of the boys will have a blue shark. Today I made another cup cozy which took about a half hour and have been working on a hat since. I gave up on one because it was by a woman who writes beautiful patterns but much of the time they make no sense to me.the one I changed to is made in the round, turning after each round. I really dislike doing those because I mostly mess up that seam but hey, if you don't try, you won't learn. It's a very pretty hat if I can just get that seam part right. I need to catch up on hats because winter is coming fast. One of the crochet groups every Monday asks if you have crochet goals for the week. I listed mine and so far have them all done except for putting the baby Yoda together so I better get started with that tomorrow. And Ginny, buy a case of the creamer to last you

Glad you are able to meet your crochet goals this week!!!

Ruth did you watch the video of the prairie point Christmas ornaments? I posted the link a week or so ago…and its ok if you forgot or did not watch it. The woman would give anyone a headache and the video is awful. I think her husband is filming and there must be a live feed, as they are constantly talking to or about others who are commenting on the video. And of course he says he has to take a video of her work station (which was nice enough, but really a waste of time to see), plus he comments on her cleavage. Think its a 28 minute video that could be condensed to 5. So frustrating. So aggravating. Were you able to finish the hat you were working on?
Gonna be cold here tonight….think we go into the mid 40’s….fall is here.

Ginny, I watched a video of Ornaments that you posted a link for but it was a good video and no husband making remarks so I must have missed the one you're talking about now or I somehow got the wrong one. Yes I hate video's like that. Oh and maybe I missed all the husband chatter because I never have sound on since I can't hear it anyway. I always put on closed captioning.IN the one I saw it looked as though those ornaments would be fairly easy.I was even tempted to put it on my to do list

Hello Ginny - You should pick up some more of that creamer. I know I was still eating Pumpkin Spice cereal in April/May of this year from all that I had bought Hope you stay warm in your house tonight I am enjoying the cooler weather. Ruth - Congratulations for meeting your goals, hope you finished the baby Yoda The weather here is still nice, it's been good to open the curtains and blinds and let some light into the house. I removed all the thread basted and trimmed the hand pieced sampler and after looking at it I felt that the border needed a bit more stitching, so I finished that today. Now I'm ready to sew the binding and I hope to finish that by this weekend. The next quilt along with Pat Sloan that I'm doing starts on Monday so I'd like to be ready to work on that. Take care everyone

Cj, I'm glad that you were able to get that stitching done when you felt the border didn't have enough. And it's great to be ready for the quilt along you're planning to participate in next.
I didn't work on Yoda at all today actually. I will try to get him done before Monday though. I didn't finish the hat either because it's one that takes quite a while to finish and I want to get to some faster ones because I intend to take my bags of hats to the senior center to drop off soon.I did start another hat that will be done this evening.
Now, though, I'm going to go back to youtube and search prairie point Christmas ornament videos. I like prairie points.I've never made one of course

these ornaments would be really cute if you made it so that they fabric was plain where it showed on the front and you embroidered a child's name on it and when they were born or just the year that you gave it to them. Kind of an ornament keepsake. or you could make it for a newly married couple with the year of their marraige. I guess you would have to do some maneuvering to make sure the part with the embroidery showed up properly

oh I think I found the one you were talking about!! Did the woman have on a red dress with flowers and the man there, who I guess was her husband, was Dave? She did show a lot of cleavage. And she already talked a lot and I only watched a little of it.I already want to yell...hey can we get on with the subject at hand, hahahaha. and THAT ornament sure didn't look easy at all.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today It's another pretty day here, I've enjoyed the weather the last few days. I have my sampler quilt ready to start on the binding and I hope to get some stitching done today. This morning I had an idea of how I wanted to put together my house blocks into a wall hanging so I went ahead and did that (see picture). I really like this layout and I was glad to use the extra half square triangles I saved from the roof corners of the houses. I think a 3-4 inch border would look good on this if I can find a fabric I'd want to use. If not I'll just bind it at this point. I'm ready to start piecing the Sudoku quilt too and might start working on that this weekend. Hope you are all having nice weather and getting to do some crafting. Take care!

CJ,those half triangles on to top and bottom are wonderful. It was a great idea!! The whole thing is beautiful. Yes a border would be great but it looks great just as it is too!
I haven't been able to get any crocheting in yet today. I was visiting with dh then doing some advance cooking and also wanted to use up some frozen blueberries I had so made muffins. I think that today I'm just going to work on hats. I made 1 1/2 last evening. I used some ugly yarn to make a pattern called Pop Of Color beanie and it turned out to be beautiful! Only thing is, although I followed instructions the hat turned out small. Probably a toddler size which is fine because it will be donated but it looked to me that it was supposed to be a small adult size and, as I mentioned, I'm a pretty loose crocheter.

Ok here ya go…..28 minutes of torture… www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlQcpR9ZBZk Happy viewing and do not say I did not warn you. The folded fabric ornament is much simpler and I thought also adorable. I just do not have the right fabrics for it at the moment, perhaps will make a quick run to Joanns to stock up on good fabrics for that.

CJ- the house wall hanging is absolutely adorable and I love how you used the HST’s as a sort of border.. Yes a border would look nice, but this is charming as it is and a simple binding would look lovely also. This fall weather is lovely….enjoy it while it is here!! Glad you are getting ready for the next Pat Sloan quilt along. I do not know how you can manage to keep up with the new projects like that…I can barely make a simple CHristmas ornament!!!
Yes, Ruth you found the right video. Its awful. She does explain the ornament well enough but with way way too much embellishment and extra commentary.yes its the right video - gotta be if you wanted to yell.. And for the folded fabric ornaments, what a sweet idea to personalize them, if I could figure out how to place the personalization so it showed well.
Worked this am and did get my hair done this afternoon. Home for the night and hope to get busy on some ornaments….
