Hello Everyone - Hope you have had a nice day Ruth - I forgot to answer a question you asked me recently and it just popped in my head that I hadn't. You asked if I kept the dates I finished my quilts. No, I don't unless I know it was a quilt done in a class and I can remember when I took the class - like the old unfinished quilt I'm working on now It was sunny and mild here (in the 70s) today and it's supposed to be warmer tomorrow. Looks like we might get some rain around here this coming week. I've finished hand stitching the binding on 3 sides of my sampler quilt, only one side left and I will finish that this evening. I'll be happy to get this done. I don't hate hand stitching binding, but I really don't enjoy it as much as hand quilting. And I can't imagine doing it for a large quilt. I also started making blocks for the rainbow scrap sudoku quilt. They come together really quickly but I have to be careful to make sure I lay out the colors in the correct puzzle order. Hope you are all getting to do some crafting. Take care!

CJ- sounds like you had a very pleasant day.- and a very productive one also. Like you , I dislike hand finishing a binding by hand…but they do come out better that way. That quilt is a work of love for you, something you started long ago and have successfully finished. Are you pleased with how it looks ? (Bet you are!!!) Now you can move on to the suduko quilt, and it sounds like you are looking forward to doing that! Like you, I am in for rain (Monday and Tuesday for me) but the temperatures are decent and the nights are cool. I hope you are blessed with similar weather. Dd came over for a few hours….DGS is adorable but a bit of a demanding baby. It was good to see them. I did go out and pick the last of the grapes which I will make into juice tomorrow. Looks like i have one last batch of jelly there. I did leave a few grapes on for the birds. Ds is working a double shift, so I am always concerned about his safety and getting home ok. Might work on some embroidery in a bit…that sounds good. Ginny

Ginny, I'm praying for safe travel home for your son. Babies are so cute but they can be demanding at times. That's the great thing about being a grandparent...when they become demanding send them home CJ, I hope you were able to finish your hand sewn binding as you had planned. What a great feeling it must be to see it finally completed. I've done a little crocheting today but it doesn't add up to much. Most of my crafting involved reorganizing some of my bags of crochet supplies. I hope you both have a good night.

Thanks to the Lord and for your prayers Ruth….Ds made it home and is already back to work. He knew that he was most likely going to have to work a double shift…they are very short staffed as are many workplaces, and no one wants to work. I saw on a store front an adorable sign the other day it said “weekly stimulus check available here! Apply at Acehardware.com”. it was on the window of a local hardware store that did an excellent job of providing shop from home service during the height of the virus. Plus they also sold household cleaning supplies during a time when those were in short supply. Enough about that….getting your crochet supplies organized sure does count as crafting!! What good are all our stockpiles of supplies and projects if we are unable to find them.
Hope that Ruth and CJ slept well last night. Think we are all out of the days of extreme heat, and its just more comfortable to sleep in this cooler weather.
Phyl, with Halloween and Thanksgiving coming up I am sure you are at least thinking about fall decorations and perhaps a fall quilt or table runner.
Sue, we miss hearing from you and hope you are ok. Is always good to hear from you.
Got a much less busy day planned today. Will watch some football…will do some sort of crafting during the game.
See ya later Ginny

Hello Everyone Ginny - I'm glad your DS made it home safe, sounds like his work is very busy. I love Ace Hardware and choose to go there sometimes over the big warehouse hardware stores. Hope you enjoy the football games. Ruth - Organizing our crafting supplies is a good thing Hope you found time to crochet today. Phyl and Sue - Hope you are well. It's warmer here today, 80 degree but sunny. I hope we don't have rain each day this coming week which they are predicting. I guess we have to be thankful for having so many pretty days. I did finish sewing down the machine binding last night. I think this must be my oldest UFO, so I'm happy about that. I'm proud to have one completely hand pieced and hand quilted quilt that I've done. I always wanted to make a quilt they way they used to before all the conveniences we have. I'll share a couple pictures below of the whole quilt and the a close of up of one block I like (54-40 or Fight is the name of it). I haven't done any crafting today and probably won't except for checking the Internet. I needed a day's break after all the work this week on the sampler quilt. Take care everyone!

CJ- that is such a pretty quilt and I love the colors. They might be a bit unconventional….but I LOVE the way the different fabrics pop. Congrats on getting your oldest UFO finished…..bet you are really happy to get that behind you.
I did get the hang of these prairie point ornaments, and now that I have, they are really cute and turn out well. I have to pick up buttons to finish the center, oh shucks, will have to make a trip to Joanns.
See ya later G
