Happy Sunday, Brenda - thanks for the encouraging message. Lots of people without masks sounds to scary , I wouldn’t return unless they required proof of vaccination. Louis - that looks fun. Sorry the food was only ok.
This morning Ted and I went for a nice bike ride and I did a Blogilates ab video. All the girlfriends are back in town so we had a nice get together. We set up a trip to Italy, Milan and Bologna. I am so excited because it’s my first trip to Italy. Waving hi to Vicki , Virginia and Lori Debbie

Hello,
Finally I made it back to the boards! Whew.
Lou, sorry about the too-early start to Monday. I woke at 5:15 this morning and said "oh he!! no" to getting up that early, especially after yesterday's HM. I was able to go back to sleep until almost 7, thankfully. The absinthe delivery looks quite impressive. Your experience with Thai food makes me think of the Detroit area. Some of my former co-workers were just over the moon about the Thai cuisine there. I am truly not a connoisseur, and I have to wonder if they were or not. Congrats on a meeting-free day last week. I am sure that is a rare occurrence. That is strange to not have poppies at the poppy festival. What is the deal with that?
Debbie, it sounds like you had a too-early start to Tuesday. Yuck. You are so creative, I am sure you can find a way to attach your Fitbit to your ankle to capture some of your biking activity. Hopefully next summer you can be away for the really hot times. I am with Lou, though. I adapt as best I can to the hot and humid days here and on my FL visits. I try to get activity in early and late. On heat advisory days I do indoor activity. It is still a bit warm and humid here today.
Brenda, I am surprised that WW doesn't require masks in the meeting room. Our numbers around here are starting to go down. Sadly, one of DH's former co-workers lost his DDIL and one of DSis' friends lost her DBIL in the last week, both to COVID. I assume neither were vaccinated but I don't know for sure. How is Maddie and is your weather getting better for walking outdoors?
I had a great trip with DS#2 and DSis to visit DS#1 and family. Pics are on FB. Our rental was good and the host was very gracious. It was a relief after the three strikeouts to have a positive experience with the rental. We were in FL during the start of taper week for the HM. DS#2 and I did our 8 mile training around the neighborhood. It was a good place to walk. DSis did 3 miles with me and then I continued solo for the remainder. She has been walking a bit but not up to HM training distances. Playing with the DGDs and the grandpup and visiting with the adults was very enjoyable. We got to see DGD #1's first t-ball game and go to her b'day party last Saturday. We went to the Rays' last home game of the regular season. I was super happy about that. They are my favorite baseball team, and I seldom get to see any of their games on TV.
Yesterday was our local HM. We got rained on for part of it. Fortunately we didn't get totally drenched so it didn't feel bad. DS#2 completed his first HM in under 2:30. I am super proud of that. He prefers to train solo and he was quite serious about sticking to the training plan as much as possible.
I went back to work on Thursday and got through most of my backlog of e-mails. I had things whipped into shape by midday on Friday. I'll be in a good spot to start my Monday with a mostly clean slate.
Waving hi to Vicki and Lori. I hope you are both doing well.
Take care, Ginia
