I need motivation/help to stop evening eating! I do it mindlessly and don't track it. I fell like I'm gonna need to just start going straight to bed after dinner! What's my problem?!?!!

Welcome to the human race!!! When I notice myself doing that it is usually when I get stressed (insert any emotion here for me it's stress.) I try to keep celery/carrots front and center in the fridge so it is the first thing I see. Drink water, crochet, knit (anything to keep hands busy) chew gum, polish nails, take a bath, go for a walk, call a friend, or just go to bed because being tired always makes me want to eat uncontrollably! Welcome to the boards!!

I've posted about my similar problem recently on the Maintenance board. I know what to do about it, but sometimes it feels like just too much work. I'm going to try to keep reminding myself about why I don't want to overeat and gain weight. Focusing on all the reasons that I have for maintaining my weight loss has helped me in the past.

I just plan for it. I like to have an Enlightened ice cream bar (3 points) or Goldfish or maybe popcorn... I always make sure I've saved up the points for it. I've lost 79 pounds...

I get hungry about every 4-5 hours when I'm awake, so if I stay up reading/watching tv, I know I will get hungry. Some things that have worked for me:
*Plan for a healthy snack--cheese, apple, grapes, boiled egg, celery with peanut butter, popcorn, yogurt, etc. that fits within your plan.
*Have a cup of hot bedtime tea instead - Bigelow Sweet Dreams and Celestial Sleepy Time are my favorites and they also promote drowsiness and restful sleep.
*Decide to institute a NO CHOICE regimen where you read a 3X5 card with the reasons you want to lose weight and the words NO CHOICE. This is from Beck Diet Solution by Dr. Judith Beck.
Unplanned snacking is a major downfall to weight-loss efforts, but CAN be overcome.
