Phyl, I tried to look up that web site you mentioned bonworth.com. I tried several times and they did not have much on their web site. Have fun cleaning your play house.
Ginny, hope all is well with you. I have to leave to get Devin. I will check back later.

Phyl, I need to clean mine too. I dragged clothes out of the closet yesterday and didn't get the bins and boxes put away so right now the "playpen" looks like a hoarder's house.
Meg, I went to the BonWorth site and I found a lot of things but nothing I'm interested in getting right now. They do seem pretty expensive for brands I don't know.
I guess I found the mistake I made in the blanket because it's ok now. I'll just have to count on every row to make sure it stays right and I hate having to do that. I like the scarf because I could do it without even looking almost.
RAinning and snowing mixed right now. I'm making soup because of cold weather.

So please explain to me why winter foods are so much more fun than summer foods ? Ruth, love the sound of your soup!
Hey Meg! Glad you were able to stop in! Were you hoping for a short haircut?
I will go back and finish responding on the iPad. With this phone I cannot see the previous posts. Ginny

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Phyl - Thanks for the information on BonWorth, I'm checking out their website and they do look like "classic" style clothes. I'm glad they liked your quilt and cookies at your meeting Meg - Are you doing anything special for Devin's birthday? I'm sure he is excited, and it has to be so fun to watch him enjoy his special day. I order a lot from Blair too. Ginny - Hope this last long day went well and you can relax some tomorrow. I hate the hot humid weather too and I'm dreading it. It was in the 80s here today and going stay there for a few days. Ruth - I'm glad you are getting some more crocheting done and hopefully made some progress with the cleaning out. Hope your weather isn't too bad. My sister-in-law and I had a great time at the Quilt Show today. There were over 200 quilts on display. The guild members in this group do a lot of applique and some of their quilts were just beautiful. I also found some fabric and a group of 18 finished plaid patchwork blocks at their guild table (where members sell things they don't want anymore). I bought a few quilt kits from some of the vendors too. They had all the fabric, batting and backing, and a pattern and are easy ones to put together. Finally I couldn't resist buying another Charm Square pack We go to the second show tomorrow, and we're interested to see if the style of the quilts will be different with this guild. Take care everyone!

So now you have me scared reading all this about packages getting lost! I Sent 2 gorgeous afghans made by my DSIL to her- they are supposed to arrive Monday. Years ago she made matching afghans for my FIL and MIL- and wanted them back (I to not blame her). I decided the best thing to do was get them in the mail to her. Let's hope the PO delivers them safe and sound to her.
Ruth, glad you found the mistake in the scarf. It's a pain when you have to count- that happened to me with that baby afghan I finished in January. I had to count the rows, or I made mistakes.
Phyl, back in the stone ages, I used to find some great clothes for work at Dress Barn, they had nice well priced clothes.
Meg- have your eyes recovered from the eye treatments?
I am so looking forward to Friday. Hope CJ had a great time at the quilt show. Ginny

Back again. Meg, I hope Devin has a fantastic bday. I still can't believe that she's that old already. CJ, sounds like a fantastic day at the quilt show and you get to go to another tomorrow It also sounds like you're all set to make several more quilts and will be busy and having fun. Ginny, I send a while lot of packages to my dgc and I've never had one get lost. Yes I did get two packages that weren't meant for me but that was a company and I don't think that the package services are as careful with those and the USPS is with packages between individuals. As for summer vs winter, I have to say that I like summer MUCH better. But here, although it can get very, very hot, we have no humidity in the summer so it's much more comfortable here than many places. I also like summer food better. I'm not all that fond of soups but I make a lot of them in the winter for dh and sometimes do eat some. Good think I'm counting rows now because I just found that I had an extra stitch in my last row but I found it in time to just frog that one row. With the fuzzy yarn I can't just look at the row and see where the extra went in so have to just pull the whole thing out...the while row that is. When I bought this yarn to g with the pink I had I should have bought more than just two but I think it will be an ok size. Not large but definitely large enough for a car seat and bassinet and is so nice and soft for baby to hug when she gets a little older. I love how thick and cushiony this feels while still being light in weight.

PHyl, I can sure believe you're in flannels. I'm in my fleece ones right now with a sweat shirt over it.High here today was in the 40's also but then it went down fast after the rain then snow started.
I did find a lot of clothes on there Phyl. It was Meg that didn't find much on the site. I don't know why. As you said they have a lot of sections and buttons to click to find what you want but it's there. And I'm sure you're right about the prices. I just haven't shopped in awhile. I have so many clothes but I do need some new tops. Pants I have to try on because otherwise they wouldn't fit I'm sure and I do have enough of those already.

megk31, gramma15, choney2, cj59, phyl, Ok so I hit the "simple tagging button and look what popped up? Lord knows I have no idea what I am doing....so I tried it! Now you can all laugh at my silliness. Happy Friday!!! Ruth, so glad you found the extra stitch and that correcting it was not too big a deal. Imagine if that happened 25 rows earlier..... The yarn you are using sounds delightful- what kind of yarn is it? the afghan sounds lovely- and your description of how warm and fuzzy it is sounds incredible. Gotta go BB soon Ginny

Well here we are on Friday again. I hope all of you are having a good one. Ginny, thank you, and the white yarn I'm using is Bernat Pipsqueek and the pink is from Premier but I forget what it's called as I seem to have misplaced the label. The pink was given to me and there was one and abot3/4 skeins so I had to find a yarn that would go with it since it's been discontinues. It doesn't match exactly in texture but it's fairly close and does make a good baby blanket.Bernat is thicker and a lot fuzzier. The blanket is nearly done. I put the pink on one end and now I'm putting it on the other end and if I have enough I'm going to try a border around with the pink. I've used up all of the white and wouldn't you know I was three stitches short of enough to finish the last row of white, which of course makes no difference at all except that I would then have been able to use every bit of it instead of having a 3ft length of it left.I was looking up this Pipsqueek to see how much it costs as I forgot. I thought it would make a great lap blanket for one of the older dgds. DDil mentioned that one would like a "thick blanket" but her spell checker changed the name so I'm not sure which grand it was. I think that whoever it is would love one made of this altho I'm sure it would be costly to use that many skeins of this yarn but oh well...we do anything for our dgks don't we She forgot too and said she'd ask but she must have forgotten again. I know CJ is having a great time looking at all the quilts. I'd love to be there We have a bit of snow and it's still snowing but even so I have my doubts that we're going to get as much as they predicted. OH the bad thing about the blanket is that in the second ball of yarn there were three knots that had to get cut out and the yarn rejoined so there's weaving in to do in several places. I tried my usual crocheting over the ends but it made it too bulky. You would think on a bulky fuzzy yarn that wouldn't be the case but it was so I have to find a way to weave so that the blanket doesn't have "lumps". You wouldn't think that there would be so many knots in one small skein of yarn. There's only 100 yards. You would think they would make sure that they have 100 yards of knot free yarn in each skein..first skein had two only one knot but there shouldn't be any. Have a good day all and I'll see you later

Hapy Friday everyone. Today Devin is 9. He went off to school and his Mom sent cupcakes to share with his class. So he was very excited. Tomorrow he will have a b/day party. I don't know a lot about it as his Mom planned it.
I am going to my Knit Wits Gp. very soon. I have started a b/blanket to take with me as my afghan is getting too big to work on there.
Ruth, sorry you had trouble with your project. I hope you have worked out the problem. I hate it when I have to keep counting the stitches.. I enjoy mindless knitting. That's probably I make so many b/blankets. I should be finished with my afghan soon. I will try the Bonworth site again when I have time. I got my order from Blain but I am going to have to send 2 tops back and get a larger size. I have already reordered 2 more tops. I need to clean out my clothes closet and get rid of some of the stuff taking up space there. It's the time of year to do some spring cleaning.
I will continue this later I is time for me to get out of here. I will check back later.

Thank you Meg. I finished the blanket all but the weaving in and since it's "Finish it Friday" I'm going to bite the bullet and weave them all in today. It's quite a small blanket because of the amount of yarn I had to make it with but, as I mentioned yesterday, it will be good for some things and it's so nice and soft that I'm sure a baby would love it to play with and hug when old enough Meg, have a good time at Knitwits. I always did have a good time in my Caps for Kids group just sitting and knitting or crocheting, visiting and seeing what hats everyone else made or was making but now I really don't want to go out so I don't. Also, yes I hate having to send things back. I haven't had much luck ordering clothing online as I probably mentioned before. For one thing i always think I'm larger than I am so most things end up too big or else, like that dress and skirt usually too long..but yes that dress was way to short even for ppl my height. I guess most people do like to wear them to only midthigh but I like to be more covered...way more.So I hope you have better luck with the two other ones you ordered. Right now though, before weaving in ends, I'm going to go try to organize my clothing I dragged out of the closets so that I can walk in my craft room or as PHyl says...my playpen... I love that

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ginny - I saw your tag Ruth - I hope you don't get much more snow, especially since you like the warmer weather Meg - I hope you enjoyed Knit Wits today and that Devin had a wonderful birthday Phyl - Hope you get some warmer weather soon too - you have have my 90 degree weather that we're getting tomorrow We had a nice time at the Quilt Show today. The setup of this show made it easier to view the quilts, but we preferred the styles of the quilts from yesterday more. Yesterday's show had lots of traditional style quilts, but today's show had a lot more modern quilts - lots of batiks, and quilts with a lot of machine quilting on them. I only saw two handquilted pieces today compared to several yesterday. So while we enjoyed looking at the quilts, there weren't really our style. I did find another hand pieced old quilt top that they were selling and I bought it. It is the Churn Dash pattern and it looks to be about a full-queen size quilt top. Looking at the fabrics I would think it was made in the 1950s maybe. I hope that one day I can hand quilt it and finish it. I bought a few other pieces of fabric, but not a lot. There aren't any shows now until June (when there are three!). So I can take a break and work on projects. Take care everyone!

Just me again! Dh started chatting with me earlier, so I had to end the post abruptly.
Phyl- yes I can surely relate to being in flannel jammies! It's ok, really....I would wear mine year round if the temperature warranted it. Enjoy the weather.....hot summers are no fun.
Ruth, that stinks that the yarn had so many knots in it! Of course it would show up more in a bulky yarn. The baby afghan sounds lovely- and I hope you can figure out which granddaughter wants an afghan from bulky yarn. Perhaps you can catch a good sale...
Meg, happy birthday to Devin!! How was knit wits? What pattern is this baby blanket- and what color/s will it be? I totally agree there is something special about a group of women crafting together...good company, good conversation, good cause!!
So thankful it's Friday! We will have summer weather tomorrow- and it was warm today. Think I will sit down and embroider a bit. Have a lovely evening.
CJ cannot wait to hear about the quilt show! Ginny
