Karen, the banana bread recipe is in the Zo booklet. For some reason today I completely overlooked the ½ cup melted butter and Iggy says it turned out better. The no heavy lifting I think is because of the polyp removal. The doc had to use a clip on one of them and they said to watch for bleeding. The mushrooms are not stuffed. I treat it like a burger patty. Today I put a thin slice of cheddar on it. We have a dome that we put over the “patties” to melt the cheese. It works great.
Kathy, I despair of politics. It is so depressing and every time budgets roll around the stock market takes a dive.
Linda, I am lucky that Iggy likes to cook. I prefer home cooked meals so it works out for both of us.
We are just about to take off for our errands. Have a good day.

Thanks for the start, Chele. 🐇🐇🐇. October seemed to get here quickly. Nice new avatar. I'll have to look for the recipe in the Zo book. Interesting on the bread turning out better without the butter. Hope you got all the errands done. The no lifting due to the clipped polyp makes sense. I didn't have any of those. I hope it will heal nicely and he won't have any bleeding. I agree on how depressing politics are, even the routine stuff. I wish there would be a more in-depth explanation of the $3.5 trillion infrastructure plan so people could understand how beneficial it would be for just about everyone. I think the dollar amount is a SWAG, but if increased taxes on those who can most afford them will fund it, why not? But then we have a lot of people in Congress who have gotten rich off the people who would be paying and they are trying to protect their special interests at the expense of the rest of us.
Linda, how many bites and stings are you nursing today? Have the head and stomach issues subsided? Your new toaster sounds a lot like mine. When will it arrive? How was the salad and pasta? Did you enjoy your vacay from cooking? Do you have enough leftovers so you won't need to do it today either?
Any activity on or around the pond, Kathy? I think I saw the 2 female mallards this morning but they were by themselves. I won't be swimming with them til next spring. Did I see that both UCF and FSU play tomorrow? Clemson dropped from #6 to #25 in the rankings after that OT loss to NC State.
Our governor renewed his order to allow parents to opt their kids out of wearing masks in schools, even after 3 federal judges have overturned it. He is claiming the judges are legislating from the bench. He knows so much about the law 😠. He runs a cattle ranch that he inherited. The data shows that the counties with mask mandates in schools have fewer cases of covid. I'm so tired of hearing people talking about their rights without understanding how it affects the rights of others. I hope the majority of Tennesseeans are getting tired of the way he has mismanaged the pandemic in this state. Unfortunately, he just got elected in 2019, so we're stuck with him for a while. I'm still harvesting from the garden and got a bunch of the Midnight Snacker tomatoes and 3 good-sized zucchini that I decided to ferment into kraut with garlic and caraway seed.
Waving to the rest of the gang.

Cute basset pumpkin 🥰, Karen. I hope you are having nice fall weather like we are. Cool at night. Warm during the day. Today the sun is shining. Nice on the tomatoes and zucchini. We still have cherry tomatoes. Our governor is having a fund raiser for up to $25,000 a seat. Millionaire’s club. He is backed by the rich 🤑.
Errands done. We went to turkey store and got turkey parts for Thanksgiving. Ni turkey shortage there. The turkeys were lined up at the fence near the road. The cashier said they like to watch the cars go by. I then felt bad about buying their cousins. Iggy wanted to buy a pie but I talked him out of it as he has banana bread. I usually buy their cole slaw but they jacked the price up substantially. It was $5.99 for a pint. I’ll make my own, thank you. Iggy bought some things at Lowe’s to make a “greenhouse” for herbs in the patio planter. It will keep him busy at least. We went to Wild Birds Unlimited for bird feed and I will probably put some out this weekend. We also went to Panera for bagels. We usually get a baker’s dozen and freeze them, but they only had 5 plain and 2 sesame. We don’t like the fruity or sweet bagels. The poor cashier seemed run off her feet, so I didn’t even ask her to check in the back. We’ll just go back sooner than usual.

Good Afternoon Chicks and happy Friyay! Thanks for the start Chele. Chele - glad to hear that Iggy is feeling better and the ban on any heavy lifting is definitely polyp related. I enjoy grilled portabellas and have also eaten them much like a burger. Sounds like the errands were successful and nice that you got your turkey parts . We also have a lovely fall weather day today which I truly do enjoy. It's supposed to get warmer over the weekend but then back to fall weather next week I believe. Gary is out golfing up north in Port Jervis with his friends today so he should have a nice golf outing. Kathy - sounds like you're even having some cooler weather this week. I really like the Presto paper towel from Amazon and their TP as well. I wanted to order a few additional things for Christmas but the return times are only 30 days from purchase so I will need to wait. Linda - you were super busy once again it sounds like. How are you feeling now? It's just not fair that men lose so much quicker than we do. Gary is down 20 lbs. over the past few months and that's mostly avoiding sweets (darn it)!! You're a champ for doing the cooking and thank goodness DH decided you needed a break. Love the Oct. 1st picture; it's my dad's bday today. He would have been 93 but passed at 64. Politics are making me crazy so I'm avoiding at least most of it. The US postal service will be charging more and taking longer for regular mail deliveries. They're continuing to fight over mandated vaccinations here in the city and people are just certifiably grumpy and nuts!! Karen - congrats on doing so well at Osteo. I was on a subway last night that was jammed with people due to previous delays and as I walk in there's a psycho smoking and drinking and being completely weird. One of the guys must have said something to him as he yelled something and then went and stood outside between cars. Welcome to another lovely evening of commuting on the NYC subway . Nice that you're still harvesting zucchini and tomatoes. I have another 4:pm meeting today which is really becoming tedious. Love everyone's new avatars; very festive and cute. It was the last day for that staff member who put me through hell and she comes into my office to thank me and gave me a card with all these lovely sentiments that I don't even want to try to conjecture about. Talk about having mental health issues!!! Waving to Becky and Denise. Hope you all have a safe and nice evening. We are jammed full again and have a very busy ER to boot. Take care and be well dear ladies! Ciao for now~

Great avatars…I am looking for a humanely raised Turkey for Thanksgiving, and discovered that Butterball is nit bad in tgat score. But fresh is nice. Had a great one once from red bird.
Liz, I cannot imagine subway every day. Wow. Bob is pouting because a pound came back. Yea on that oerson leaving. Men lose so fast and complain it is nit faster. He is down five in 9 days. Me…4.5 in six weeks. I keep explaining about water fluctuation and slowing metabolism if you eat to little, but conversation would go better with dog.
Nice you can still harvest. I actually have two more peppers turning red!
finally got that mri that should have been first one in MidAugust but office sent wrong one first and Mri broke! Then in Sept they scheduled the other one but added something to it so the appt was changed from 9/24 to different date and location that could do both today. Got there and no order on file even though we checked yesterday. Finally found one or the refax I was able to get office to send got there, so we are done. Sheesh. He took a pill for it and it turned out to be open MRI anyway..so he is napping.
much nicer place though with Fountain courtyard and mid 80s day so far. So I sat in the fountain edge quite a while.
So far nothing in calendar for a week. Yea.
I feel a lot better today but it is prime ragweed time of year here. It obviously enjoyed the unusual rain. Knees are a lot better, not walking like a stiff penguin. Gel is kicking in. Fell asleep a bit after nine last night and woke around 7 with yard work machinery. Enjoying peace right now.
Later a trip to library and museum to drop off Seot clippings. Maybe a bit if yard work I am so behind in,

Chele, thanks for the start. 🐇🐰🐇 Nice Halloween pic! I feel the same way on politics and I'm trying to stay away from the news and looking at the stock market reactions to it. Turkeys are funny birds. Karen, cute avatar! I heard a fairly detailed listing of what's in the infrastructure package yesterday, so it is out there. I'm sure they don't have the details of each item worked out yet though. I think they set the number pretty high to give them room to negotiate, so I wouldn't be surprised to see some things get cut out of a final bill. Or maybe I'm just being optimistic and they'll totally screw up the chance for some much needed changes! The pond has been fairly quiet, but I did see the Great White Heron again. Other than that, there is a mallard couple I see fairly often. The activity seems to pick up in the winter. I also saw a turkey buzzard chasing something between my house and my neighbor's house. He was on the ground doing a run/waddle after whatever he was looking at. He would waddle a few steps and then stop and look. I couldn't see anything, so have no idea what it was and probably don't want to know! He waddled out of our yards and took off. UCF plays Navy and FSU plays Syracuse. I think both games are at 3:30 tomorrow. FSU's game is on the ACC Network, so I'll have to stream that one. May as well use my Sling subscription while I still have it. The latest here is Mayor Demings responded with a letter to DeSantis about the mandate for Orange County employees to get vaccinated. DeSantis wants to fine them $5k per employee. Demings called it an an "attempted, unauthorized gubernatorial usurpation of epic proportion on Orange County’s basic right and responsibility to protect its employees"!
Liz, I haven't tried the Presto brand, but will take a look at it. That's an excellent point on returns. I guess the holiday return windows haven't kicked in yet where you can return things in January. Late meetings on Friday are the worst, especially with your commute. Hope you have a quite commute with normal people around or is that even possible there? That's amazing on Gary losing 20 lbs just with one change. I think our bodies are designed to hold on to our weight!
Linda, lol on the conversation going better with the dog. Glad you're feeling a bit better and that the gel is kicking in.
Becky, hope you've been doing well.

I will believe the infrastructure bill or anything else is done when the President actually signs it. The whole partisan thing vs welfare of country is disgusting, especially from the folks who used to tell us major it gets it’s way..until they were not.
