This is a monthly thread for those of us who have a lot of weight to lose. The definition of “a lot” is something that is determined personally, so everyone who feels they have a lot of weight to lose is welcome to post here.
Please join us in offering support, checking in for accountability, help with questions, etc. We’re in this for the long haul.
We’d also love to hear from those of you who are maintaining a large loss. We need those tips to help us to keep the weight off once we lose it.
Hello Everyone - Welcome to our October thread. Hope everyone will check in and let us know how you are and I hope we all have a good month
Linda - I'm sorry to hear you are sick, and I hope you get better soon. Take care
I'm happy to say that I met my weight goal for the beginning of October. I set this goal months ago and wasn't sure I'd get here, but I'm glad I did. Just want to work at not going above this weight again.
I've set a new goal of 6 pounds loss by the end of the year. I don't want to pressure myself with the holidays coming up, since I really like a lot of holiday foods
My challenge for October is to walk each day for 30 minutes, even if I have to break it up into 2 parts. My knees start bothering me sometimes around the 20 minute mark and I stop, but I want to go back and get that 10 minutes later.
Cj59, See it helps to check in here more often. I already forgot I need to set an October goal LOL I’m gonna have to think about that. I do know it’s going to be for losing some pounds but I got to think of how many
Hi sunrose - Hope you are doing well and good luck with setting your October goal
I've been walking each day and hope to keep that up. I did have an overeating day yesterday and I'm trying to put it behind me and stay on track today. I think that working so hard to meet my goal and then meeting it made me feel like I could binge. I wish I could get over that behavior. It's been something I've done often over the years. I guess the good thing is that at last I recognize it's not a helpful reaction for me
Cj59, I did set my goal for October. It’s been a long time since I’ve related my goal to a certain amount of pounds to lose. So I’ve got that set for October. I’ve done the same thing when I’ve lost a certain amount of weight. I feel like I can eat it’s crazy. A woman at the zoom weight watcher meeting this past Saturday said the same thing so I guess it happens to a lot of us. So putting it behind you is a good thing to do.
Waving to all
Kind of yucky weather here today. I already did a mini walk with Maddie and I’ll try to get some other exercise in.
Hi sunrose - I hope you saw a loss at your meeting this morning and I hope you meet your October goals
I've been walking everyday for 30 minutes, so I'm happy to be keeping up with my October goal. I did spend the last 3 days overeating, which I'm disappointed in myself about, but I'm back on track today and just need to put that behind me. I'm glad it was at the beginning of the month so hopefully I can make up for all the extra calories by the end of the month.
I am still at the end of being sick. Starting to feel quite a bit better but I have to say, my appetite has not been good and I've lost over 6 lbs these last few weeks. Sick weight loss doesn't usually stick but I'm hoping some of it does. I haven't updated my weight in my signature because of thinking if my weight goes right back up to where it was or even partially, that will be discouraging to have to raise the number. I have done my official WW weigh ins each week, reluctantly. I had a couple of WL goals in mind that I would use one after the other. I met both of them and then some. First was 10 lbs since my restart in Feb. (I'm at more than 15) Next was to be in the next decade, under the number I said I would never see again. And I'm 4+ lbs lower than that. I've been tracking everyday. So when I feel like eating normally again, I'll still be in that habit. Taking it day by day. I hope to be a regular poster soon.
Hi Linda - I'm sorry to hear you have been sick for so long and hope you start feeling better soon Hopefully the weight you've lost over the last few weeks will stay off. Take care and post again when you feel like it.
Hope everyone is doing well today. I've been meeting my October walking goals each day so far and hoping to keep that up. I ate a bit of junk food last night. I know I shouldn't bring it in the house. I guess I keep hoping I'll learn to control it, but that is probably never going to happen
