Good early morning friends. I took an extended nap yesterday which I'm sure played into the fact that I woke up early. The good thing is I'm not tired...yet LOL and I have nothing that I can't 'put off' should I feel tired as the day goes on.
It was the rain that woke up me. I guess it's going to pour all day long. Oh well.....we'll survive.
Thanks for the explanation, Pam. I weigh in daily and post my daily weight on the WW app. I'm okay with seeing the fluctuations. LOL happy you enjoyed your ribs and potato salad. What's not to love Judy praying that you get into your home soon. I agree...the builder needs to give you a date.

Hi Ann and friends,
I was up early, too. DH was up at 5:30 and I woke up then, too. I watched a bit of the Patriots game and went to bed about 10 PM. I read for a while and then conked out.
It's raining cats and dogs here now so I'll have a tough time getting these dogs out the door until it lets up. They won't budge! lol
Breakfast will be cereal and an apple. Not sure what else will be on the menu but a sandwich for lunch and salad tonight. I am trying to keep my anxiety levels down about this house but it's hard when DH is anxious, too. He was giving DS an update last night. Even those conversations get my stomach in a knot. This, too, shall pass.
Off to get dressed and I might go into the office for a bit to get out of this room! I want to test D&D and see how they do when we are gone. I hope they are okay.
TTFN and make it a good day all!

Judy it's difficult to relax in that situation. You and DH have been through the mill....however, as you say, this too shall pass. It let up just enough for Carl to take Benjamin 'out back' to do his thing. He came in I dried him off and put his kibble down. Now he is on the sectional covered in his blanket snoring away. Hope that D&D do well when you are not there. It's hard all the way around. I just finished my 'Turkish breakfast wrap' Lunch will be a tomato and cucumber salad and bowl of veggie bean soup and tonight we are having chili over rice. The chili is in the crock pot as I type. Quick and easy on such a gloomy day.
I was going to switch the closets today...but being sleep deprived that's not going to happen. Perhaps tomorrow.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Monday!! We woke to a grey, gloomy-looking day with predicted intermittent rain showers.
Ann ~ Glad you can stay in and take it easy today. I am sure Benjamin will enjoy that as well.
Judy ~ All my Skechers are sneaker-looking. I have them in different colors and slightly different styles. But I wear them for school (which involves a lot of walking). Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Pam ~ I also carry an umbrella when it looks threatening, and more often than not I need it. DH and I have a funny story about one time when we got caught in the pouring rain a couple of miles from home. We got absolutely soaked! In fact, we had to strip off our work-out clothes in the garage and leave them there.
DH still does not have his truck back. We don't know why, as he is waffling about calling the mechanic. Oh well, not my dog to walk, so I will just go my own way.
I woke up early this morning, and am already showered and dressed and made up. I have about 20 minutes until I have to leave for school. Exciting day as I am picking up my new car right after school.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue enjoy that new buggy. Bet you can't wait for your school day to end.
Yes I am officially going to shut down sit on the sectional and either read or nap...whichever comes first.
Will see y'all in the a.m.

Sue, how exciting! Nothing like a new car!! Enjoy it. What color did you choose? :-) My friend is waiting for her new car to get here- it's a Subaru and out in the middle of the ocean somewhere now. I'm glad you got one fairly easily. They say it's very hard to get most stuff now. BTW, I loved your expression about not your dog to walk. I hear the one "not my circus and not my monkeys" and I like that, too! It is smart to butt out sometimes, even with our spouses - maybe especially with out spouses!!!
I took some time on the way to work over lunch to look at a couple shoe places - both were very low on stock for all kinds of shoes! I wound up with some black Skechers that are slip on. They may not be dressy enough for work but I don't need fancy here. My bunion has actually changed my shoe size! I'm up half a size to accommodate it and so I'll have to pick shoes that I can wear socks with to make the sure the smaller foot fits! I also got a pair of Merrill's at Bob's near my "old" house. They are closing sadly and have a big sale. My DH swears by Merrills and though they are not pretty, they sure feel good and that is what retirement is all about to me!
I got a lot of work done here in the office. In the ESA, I lose wi-fi connection and I worry since it says my wi-fi is not "secure." For work stuff, that is okay because we have very strong firewalls, but I would not want to do online banking etc. there.
I'm excited because a good pal who retired from the college is coming back on a part-time basis to help out with marketing. She and I are meeting for lunch on Wednesday. She's a true peer!
I am feeling a little shivery and tired today. I think it's the gloomy day and chill in the air. I don't have a sweater. I don't think it's the shot. But I have a lingering headache.
Ann, thanks for your support and understanding. I do feel very stressed. I think the routine of work is helping and being in a familiar place like my office. Tomorrow I have to run to the Cape to be there for the cable guy. I want to pop in on the builder and see how it's going.
DD wrote and sent me a custody arrangement they are trying to work out. He who shall not be named turns on the charm when he wants to but it is not sustainable and I just don't trust him. He wrote a very warm sounding note about having a good relationship and letting bygones be bygones, etc. Well, it just doesn't ring true. Too unpredictable.
I am headed home shortly. Have a great day all.

Good evening friends!
Yesterday afternoon, Debbie phoned to ask if we had ever gotten the toilet in our master bath fixed, because her plumber was there and would come and look at it. DH and I were excited, because it is difficult here to get a plumber to even answer phone calls, much less come out for such a small job. He came, showed DH how to fix it once we got the correct part and refused payment. I persuaded him to at least take a $20 for coming to help us out on a Sunday. We left early this morning and stopped by the hardware store, got the part and DH fixed it when we got home this afternoon. It's been broken over a month, but being gone from home most of the day, I hadn't even tried called anyone. I am so glad it's done!
Debbie and I got a 3 mile walk in late this afternoon and will walk again in the morning, since we don't have to go to wound care. I managed to get the laundry finished and all but the towels folded and put away. After our dinner of leftovers, I cleaned the unused/outdated items out of the refrigerator, which is nice and empty now. I also sprayed the oven with oven cleaner this evening, so will face that chore tomorrow morning. I have an appointment with my therapist in the afternoon.
Madison face-timed this evening to read us her newly written and illustrated book called The Sad Story. It was about how she came home from school today to find that Leah got a McDonald's Happy Meal for lunch and she didn't, so was very sad. It was SO cute! She later learned from her mom that Leah got the Happy Meal as a consolation for having to go to the doctor and get a PCR Covid test, since she hasn't been feeling well and had a fever. They suspect she just has a sinus infection, since two rapid tests in the past few days were negative, but wanted to be on the safe side. Needless to say, Leah did NOT enjoy the experience and DD3 says they both cried. M was also excited to report she is student of the week in her class and gets to do special things every day this week.
DH has turned in and I will read a little before heading to bed. I finished Nickel Boys, which was short, but very intense and extremely well-written. Now I'm on to Get a Life, Chloe Brown, which is supposed to be very lighthearted.
Judy - I hope the custody agreement works out, but his sudden niceness seems fake.
Sue - Give a car update! Make, model, color? Enjoy your new ride, whatever it is.
Ann - I bet the chili was great!
