Karen, thanks for the start. Who is that supposed to be in your avatar? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Yanks are playing the Red Sox tomorrow. Poor doves! Iggy says “Yay, Hawk.”
Kathy, OSU hasn’t played any hard teams since the Ducks. Yup, DB is not a happy ducky.
Linda, 96° is definitely too hot for a long walk.
it’s going to be 74° today and rainy. Iggy and I picked a few Black Krim tomatoes and cherry tomatoes. We still have some flowers on both. I am on my way to do my workout.
Waving to Becky, Liz and Denise. Have a great Monday, all

That was the temp in late afternoon. That's why I went at 11.
finally lost half a pound after two weeks!
I grew up in the Hudson Valley just south of Albany…German and Dutch area by the spots Washington Irving wrote about, so we were told thunder was just dwarves bowling in the mountains. Ichabod Crane High school about 25 miles away had football team called the Horsemen. I miss the fall roadside stands of 20 varieties of apples, maple sugar candies, pies, fresh cider, cider donuts stacks of pumpkins and Vermont cheddar.

Karen, thanks for the start. I don't know who the players are in your avatar, but I see the SF logo and at least know it's the Giants. Can you tell I don't follow baseball at all? I just noticed that Clemson fell all the way out of the AP poll and UF fell all the way to 20 after the loss to Kentucky. Chele, we're already at 84 and some rain is supposed to return this week. There is a system off of our coast, but it's not expected to turn into much other than some rain. FSU has one easy game left, although none of them have been easy this year. After that, they play several ranked teams, so might not win another game. Some of those ranked teams have fallen way down in the polls though, so maybe there is a chance for an upset. Linda, congrats on the loss. I was down under a pound this week too, but I'll take any loss! Those roadside stands sound wonderful. All I remember seeing in Florida were fresh roasted peanuts from GA and citrus. There are some pumpkin patches around now.
Liz, hope your Monday isn't too crazy.

Chele, Kathy is right on the avatar being the SF Giants, who won the NL West Division yesterday. The sweetest part was that our arch enemy, the Dodgers lost out by only one game and has to play a wildcard game. You know what they say about revenge. Can't happen to a nicer bunch. I saw Boston and NY are also playing a wildcard game. Curious as to whether DB went to Oregon or just became a fan when they moved west. I have to admit that I'm with Iggy on the doves. After we got the feeder put out, I find them extremely annoying. If I wasn't vegan, I would probably find a way to roast some with potatoes and carrots. We got to 77 this afternoon but I had rain (heavy at times) to drive to my car appointment. Glad your Black Krims seem to be doing well. Mine didn't and I think the HUGE leaves on the zucchini plants shaded them out like they did the mild jalapenos.
Congrats on the loss, Linda. I didn't realize Ichabod had a HS named after him. I wonder how many of the roadside stands with all those fall goodies even exist anymore. They don't around here.
Kathy, I hadn't checked the football polls, but I'm not surprised Clemson dropped out of the Top 25, given their performance on Saturday. Congrats on the loss. Take what you can get and run with it. I would have to look at a larger photo of my avatar to be able to ID the players. I can tell that the manager is the one in the center with the SF below him. This is only his 2nd year as manager and he's taken a lot of flack for his rather unorthodox methods. But people just needed to trust the process because a lot of his detractors are now singing his praises.
Didn't sleep well last night due to GI issues and then Arya heard thunder about 3 am and got freaked out. I ate some breakfast and I took lunch with me but didn't feel like eating it. I did eat some dinner. I hope it won't affect me like whatever did last night. Still haven't figured it out. I had rain on the way to AVL but a mix of sun and clouds on the way home. Car checked out AOK, but had something weird on the way home. I stopped at Whole Foods and when I got back to the car, the key fob would open the trunk but not the doors. Fortunately, there is a button to manually unlock. I always take the spare key fob so I don't have to leave the one with my house key on it. I put the spare in the console and apparently that was why the doors wouldn't unlock with the other key fob. Who knew?? I'm planning to go to the gym tomorrow and then to Walgreens for my covid booster. Then I get to come home and do all the housework I didn't get done today. SOOO looking forward to that 🙄.
Waving to the rest of the chicks.

Weird with those car keys. I wish cars were not so complicated these days.
Needed to get out of the house. SoI went to the big Chandler mall to exchange two tops I bought at Chico’s last month…too big on shoulders. To my surprise the next size down fit and was not tight across. Frankly the smaller sizes are not as small as before these days! Allowed my self a free chocolate at Sees and got a little bag of individually wrapped milk chocolate balls…the wrapping is such a pain to get off that it is easy to eat just one. Tucked it away in the dining room drawer. By the time I had walked from one end to the other and back to the car, I was wiped out…scary how much strength has gone with the long hot summer.
It is 97 and going to rain later…that dead air thing. Yucky. Hope it is better later for Micki.
My GIvsystem not happy either. last couple days stomach really off..not sure if nerves or what, so chicken soup and crackers tonight. All I really keep wanting is cinnamon toast! DH can have the leftover stew.
