I don't. I don't even walk around in the yard unless my husband asks me to.

How do you get out in nature?
* Right now I don't get outside like I used to because of age. DH and I used to work in our gardens and yard all day, we both loved being outside. My sun porch has tall jealousy windows and I open them on real warm days and it's like being outside. When my kids are home we go to the beach and open car windows. We also sit outside on the patio at the condo with Lake Michigan breezes. That's the closest I get to being outside in nature now.

I used to walk daily BUT the bugs and sun and heat deterred me and I tend to avoid it. I do LOOK at it through the windows

I take walks outside when the bugs/weather permit. Most days I enjoy the view from the sunroom or stand on one of the decks and gaze.

I should add that we live in a raised ranch so the living areas are on the second floor. We have lots of windows so our view are the branches of the trees around the house so we have nice views.

Yes, most of my "nature" consists of looking out the windows. I used to beach walk regularly, got out of the habit during Covid and just never got back to it. I do enjoy the minute in the AM when I step out to fetch the newspapers. I had been pruning the wisteria every other week, but it has stopped growing like a weed (normal for this time of year) so I haven't been doing that either.
I live in an area that is considered an "urban forest". We have lots and lots of trees, big lots, great views. I have a huge oak tree right outside the window where I am keying on the computer. See squirrels often.
The living room and kitchen have cathedral ceilings and windows that go up to the ceiling so I do get a lot of light.

lani, Curiosity question: how do you clean the windows that go up to the cathedral ceilings and how often do you clean them?

lani , Curiosity question: how do you clean the windows that go up to the cathedral ceilings and how often do you clean them? Have to hire someone. Answer to how often: hardly ever. The house does have extra-extending-out eves on the two sides of the house that have them, so they stay relatively clean compared to the other windows. I did have all the windows cleaned, wow, must have been 2019, and they still don't look too bad. My screens are all hanging by a thread due to window washing in the past. They would yank them out and throw them on the ground. So I am extremely hesitant to have the windows washed. The house was built in the early 70s and I don't know where I could find replacement screens due to the odd sizes. However, I can lift out most of the sliders and clean them myself on both sides, and drop them back in, so the next time I have windows cleaned I can tell the washers to not bother with those screens. The sliders are the only ones that would have to have the screens pulled out from the outside. What a saga...

I’m fortunate to have a wooded preserve near my house so I walk there several times a week. I drive to ride my bike on country roads with friends during the summer and hike and kayak. I try to be in nature as much as possible as there’s no place I’d rather be.
