This thread is for all of us who have been on the weight loss merry-go-round quite a few times. We have banded together to make this our FINAL time. We offer support & motivation, WEIGHT LOSS TIPS, food ideas – whatever you need to make it your FINAL time. If you start the day’s thread, please copy and paste this paragraph, with the following 2021 Goals:
Carole: 1.) Journal Daily, thoughts, feelings, ideas 2.) Track daily, Good, Bad, Ugly, HONESTLY 3.) Move every day, 10-30 minutes, as able 4.) Limit/Reduce Alcohol, All of it! 5.) Be thankful for something - every day
Gabrielle 1. Wellness--take steps each day to address better wellness (moving, attention to my eating, getting sleep, etc. 2. Debt-- continue to take steps to eliminate debt (including the kids college debt that we are covering) so that I have no debt when I retire 3. Connectedness-- each month have a plan to stay connected to those who I care about (maybe dinner once/month after COVID, Zoom, phone calls, etc. 4. Creativity -- seek out projects that keep me using the creative side of my brain (knitting, paint parties?, etc.)
Sue: 1. Get moving - plan to utilize my Cubii 3-5 times per week at least 2. Moderation - limiting junk, snacks, wine and all things I know that sabotage my success 3. Daily Gratitude - continue our November daily gratitude. 4. Start a journal - my "Life & Apples" journal will arrive later in the week. 5. Be more "present" - in life, in my journey, with family & friends, in all aspects of my world
Jenny: 1) I'm moving to a clean eating plan like more veggie dishes and less red meat 2) I pulled out my Bob Harper from the Biggest Loser's " Yoga for weight loss DVD" and do that in the evening since it's pouring down rain here. 3) Cut way back on the wine at nights, they sell those tiny little bottles that have 5oz in them and limit myself to only 1-2 per day, that can work right? 4) Track everything even if I'm in the negatives and hold myself accountable
Christine: 1. Cardio exercise daily (walk, stationary bike) 2. FOLLOW Keto Plan using Honesty. 3. Daily gratitude - Say something NICE each morning
Karen: 1. Take one step at a time and be kind to myself 2. Move by getting my kayak on the water at least one day per week... it will be more as the weather warms. 3. Stick to my intermittent fasting schedule. 4. Try to sleep reasonably.
Shelly: 1. Be more organized at work. Never leave with stuff on my desk 2. Be there for people when they need someone to lean on 3. Stick with WW plan!!! No matter what!!!! 4. Be a better influence on those around me.

WORK - IT - WEDNESDAY... How will YOU "WORK IT" Today??
I will get extra steps, walking from the parking lot and back! I will try to move every hour - oh yesterday I did 8 out of 10 dots! That's better than some days IN the office! I will also have my water bottle, and I have seltzer there (already at my desk) and of course my 2 mugs of hot tea! I will track (again) today, and finish my tracker for yesterday. I had forgotten these salads I make are so HIGH in carbs!! So I need to re-think my salad going forward! I have cucumber slices and cottage cheese for snack, and we'll have beef tips over brown rice for dinner. Should be fairly easy to track!
The work-week is going slowly... still figuring out the best time line for completing the work. Starting today, Deb is taking back one of Emily's tasks, so that will help. Next week she is on vacation so I get it back - but by then Sandie will be back to do her work - so it should balance out. I am not complaining... It is what it is... and we'll see where this all goes - someday. I did just get my annual Performance Evaluation - can't wait to see how much of a raise I get this year! LOL
Coffee is ready - let me grab a cup and be right back to catch up ♥

Oh Dear, back to Monday I go...
Oh Sue - Once again, we have had So.Much.Rain. (Sorry Gabrielle) The only good thing is MAYBE it will be a very DRY Winter around here? One can only hope - that this pattern does NOT follow us into the winter months (of snow)!
Gabrielle: I DO hope that you clear some tasks OFF your weekly schedule! WOO HOO to having a landscaper that is ready to get started!! CONGRATS on the 1/2 marathon - were you able to figure out if you met your goal? Of wanting to finish faster than you started? Or however you said it. Yes, it is an outside event - but some of those marathons - the starting line is a HUGE crowd!
Well this week I am doing 2 days in the office - Monday was because of the car, and today - well, it's Wednesday! I was asked Monday if being there meant I would NOT be in on Wednesday? I said no... I chose Wednesday for a reason! LOL I have work that has to be mailed out. It's all good, and I will remain flexible about it.
Oh - about Eden and the fire... maybe she worries more due to losing Uncle Matt - I don't think we'll ever know. But along that thought wave... I think that is why Patti is extra cautious of Zoë, around crowds now - unvaccinated. I mean let's face it - she never thought she'd lose Matt so young, I am sure it's a concern of hers... that we never know.
I have three spiralizers in this house! UGH! Tracy bought one, but it is hand held and not user friendly! Then I got a nice one from Tupperware, because I forgot I had gotten a new one from Pampered Chef!! OY VEY! I have never used either - but I do want to pull one out and see how it works! The spaghetti squash, just isn't good to mix with pasta, nor does it take the place of pasta! We do try but it is just NOT the same (obviously)
Oh I do hope you get your rain this week.
OK Let me see what is available for Sunday December 5? No Pats game - so we'd have the house to ourselves - those of us that want to paint!

Sue: Thanks for starting us off on TAKE-CHARGE-TUESDAY... I DID IT! LOL
I drank my water-tea-seltzer. I had my salad for lunch - and I got 8 out of 10 dots! THAT is a good day for me - being home. I also got through with work, and gave Tracy instructions on cooking dinner in the IP and went upstairs - for an hour or so of just DOWN TIME. It was the first time I SAT down all day! I need to remember I do feel better when I have the desk in the standing position. It gets put down a lot, when it's not being used - but I think for now, I will leave it up more. It's too easy to get lazy when sitting in the comfy chair! LOL
Oh what I'd give for 80 degrees right now!! We barely get to mid 60s lately - and no sun the past several days - makes a cranky Carole
Gabrielle: YAY for an easy run on the TM. Oh - well I hope YOU enjoy your mid 60s weather! I may have to reconsider retirement - to CA! WOO HOO for being back on top with healthier choices.
Jenny: I too went on line to check out air fares - WOW! SW doesn't fly to Wilmington! Ken suggested I look for a flight to Baltimore and then a different airline from there... Not sure I am up for the hunt! LOL I may end up driving. A flight on American is over $600.00! That just seems like a "lot" for my 15 hour drive. LOL I have never done this either... usually when we travel, all I have to say is what flights are available and Tracy has them up on her phone before I can even log in! I may pass this off to my travel agent team - Tracy & Ken! HA! Although, Tracy is not thrilled I am planning a trip without her!!
I hope you got the MRI scheduled, and I agree - get it figured out, and fixed! Poor Audrey, yes probably lots of homework - but usually more time to get it done? Nice to only have 1 class yesterday, but UGH at 2 PM! By the time I hang around until 2, I wouldn't want to go.
Keep me in the loop on your plans - if we can all meet in Wilmington we can rent only one car for the drive?
Sue: OH NO! More OT? UGH!

OK I guess it is time to get moving here. Not sure what the weather will be, so long pants it is. The good news is - with long pants I can get away with sneakers or flip flops too! Sounds like we may get a warm up coming - fingers crossed she knows what she is forecasting!
I have more salad ready to grab and go, and my cukes are sliced - just need to portion out my cottage cheese and refill my water bottle.
Hope you all have a good WORK - IT - WEDNESDAY!!
♥hugs♥

Good morning!
Ah, Wednesday--- a little closer to the weekend. Yesterday was pretty busy, but overall a good day. Today I have to break it to our PD Director that the person selected for our coordinator position was our 2nd choice...I think she'll be okay, but she gets kind of emotional and I am trying to get a sense of whether or not I have the patience for it. It is kind of exhausting (and I know that she thinks she is low maintenance). It will be good to get it over with--I wanted to tell her yesterday but she left a little early--she is a well-paid, salaried employee who doesn't always get that everyday is not exactly the same hour-wise...very interesting situation. Anyway, that will be my drama for the morning. Still tracking and doing okay...getting a bit better lately on my water consumption. Today I did a Mirror workout and I can tell that my arms and shoulders will be paying for it later. I feel so weak!
Carole: Thanks for starting us off. Yes, Jenny and I texted yesterday and there are no SW flights -- looking at Delta, American, or United and they are all close to $600 for us as well. We are going to have to decide if we fly out of Sacramento or LAX...the price is the same (and I don't have to pay for a ticket to LAX)---I actually think that it's cheaper for Jenny to fly to Sacramento than LAX too...I told Jenny that I am waiting for a house to get booked and then will look at flights more seriously. Uggh...15 hours (30 altogether) is an awful lot of driving! Should we look for a place closer to one of the other airports or? All flights might be expensive now though. Decisions, decisions! I would love to paint on 12/5 -- I am running a marathon in Sacramento that day, but will be home in the afternoon. Might not be able to do that one --- we will see! I am trying to remember why your salads are high in carbs? What is it that does that? I don't recall. Mine are pretty plain so that is why they are low in carbs (I think). I can see why Patti would be holding Zoe close---completely get that. Hope that you have a good day in the office--good job getting your hourly movement in! My 45-minute intense Mirror workout gave me 361 steps---that is ALL the "credit" I get for the workout! That is the only issue with the fitbit.... darned thing!

Hi Everyone...this is Jenny's post from a few hours ago...she posted it on Monday instead of today....
Good Morning
I did get my MRI scheduled for October 19th and see what's going on with the heart. Yesterday was a cold rainy day so I baked some mini cupcakes and decorated them for Halloween, I like to bake on my day's off especially during the holiday's. I did go for a walk in the morning yesterday and got my heart rate up. I do take breaks during the day and walk a little bit, in fact today would be a good day to walk around a little, there's hardly any trucks. I need to start coming home and getting on the bike for a bit after work.
Carole I did see that Delta and United fly into ILM so that's something to look at. I'm not going to book anything until the house is booked and we know it's set in stone. I hope Gabrielle and I can meet you in ILM and we can all go from there to the house, that would be fun.
Gabrielle your right about flying into Sacramento, I think I'd rather do that anyways as it's a smaller Airport. LAX is huge, I have flown into that place when we went to all our Mexico and Belize trips, that's where I saw Danny Glover incognito. We defiantly will keep in touch.
Sue glad the OT was fun and you enjoyed yourself, it's always a great time when your having fun at work. Glad you enjoyed the game last night.
OK need to go for now have a great day everyone

Evening all...pretty productive day! Got both MEAPs finished and am almost caught up with everything that fell yesterday too!! Wasn't much Manning today so won't be too much more to catch up on. There is one more very small MEAP, only 171 copies, that will likely fall tomorrow but that's no biggie!! Happy that I came right home and changed my alarm back to regular time!! As I said, it was fun this morning...everyone was so silly!!
Time to head back and catch up....
Christine...your vacation sounds like just what everyone needed!! Sounds like lots of relaxing and some fun visiting time with DB and other family!! Oh my...rip tides are so scary! Glad Ben maneuvered them w/o issue!! Glad the small space and 5 adults didn't cause any issues!! LOL!! How far is Amelia Island from Jacksonville???
Carole...I did very well with "mindful Monday"....while the BBQ lunch was not the most OP, I had only one sandwich on a slider roll and couple chips...had brought watermelon, grapes, cukes, etc so had plenty of good snacks. Did much better with my water too!! Really need to get more focus on that at work again!!
Gabrielle...hope you did manage to get those things done to clear off your calendar a bit!! WOW...the landscaper can start Saturday if all gets decided and the price is right!! Cool!! Question...was the 2nd half of your race faster than the start?? I know that was your goal for the 1/2 marathon!! Glad it was a pretty safe event!! I'm sure it's odd getting back into the organized race scene again...it has been a long time!! Good idea to "mix it up" with the zoodle/noodle combo!! When we had the cooking competition in CT over Labor Day, Meghan used the attachment for the Kitchen Aid Mixer too...they were awesome and so fast!!
I didn't think we were supposed to get any significant rain fall this week, just kind of showers, gloomy weather but we have gotten almost 2" since overnight Sunday....that Thunderstorm we got 1" and have gotten 1/2" here, 2/10ths there....doesn't take long to hit 2"!!
Yes Gabrielle...I too like holiday/winter paintings. I love cardinals too...they look so pretty in the winter scenes against the snow!! WOW...at 20° drop in temps in one day!! That is crazy when it happens!! Enjoy it!! Yes, it was warm yesterday...today was only about 72° but still warmer than normal....we have 70's for the next week or so, some days almost 80!! Crazy!! The extended forecast, out 10 days is showing more "seasonal" temps in the mid to upper 60's...guess I will soon need to retire my shorts for the season!! BOO HISS!!

Jenny...good idea to not make any firm plans for flights until we know the reservations for the house are finalized. Fingers crossed the MRI appointment comes quickly....the 19th isn't too far away!! Heaven knows, time flies these days!! Have to chuckle at Audrey...my girls didn't have much of a struggle in HS with assignments, etc but when they got to college and the workload was so condensed into a semester, they had to figure out how to get it all done!! It was a big adjustment for both girls! Glad you got to visit with her for a bit!!
Carole...thanks for starting us off today!! Well, I did get all my dots, got plenty of water too!! I really have to work at that one!! Your daily meal plan/tracker sounds pretty good to me!! I forget, what is it that brings up the carb count in your salads....when I think salad I think healthy and low in everything!! LOL!! UGH, sounds like there is a lot of juggling of the work tasks now with Emily gone, Deb and Sandie on vacations this week and next...hopefully once everyone is back to a full week schedule it will be smooth sailing!!
LOL Carole...fingers crossed you are right about a "dryer winter"...overall, how is your water table...since we had little snow last year, we are just now getting to the normal "annual" precipitation levels...we were WAY behind early in the year even with the wet spring...then we had that really dry month but WOW did September catch us up....it was the 2nd wettest September since they have been tracking!! Not far off the wettest!!
Yes Carole...Wednesday make the most sense to be in the office with the stuff you have to mail out!! It sounds like work is OK with the flexibility and know you will not take advantage of the situation!! So, did the car need any work?? I forget if it was inspection or just an oil change??
I think you're right Carole...you will never know what is in Eden's head but it still seems a little odd to me. Heck, we had a fire in our house and the fire department came and the girls watch them cut a huge hole in our roof and the flames went sky high...they were fine!! The only thing that ever happened was Hannah's kindergarten teacher asked why when they did the fire safety week Hannah was so focused on having a meeting place and getting out and not going back in, etc...I told her that we had a fire and that is what we told them...go to the meeting place and stay there...don't go back in as it's not safe!! That does make sense with Patti having more concern over Zoe being unvaccinated...after all, Zoe is her last link to Matt as a family. No, losing Matt so young is NEVER something any of us expect so it does make sense...
LOL Carole...I think I could mix zoodles with regular pasta better than I could with spaghetti squash!! The zoodles are closer to the same consistency of pasta...spaghetti squash is just too mushy!!
December 5th sounds good to me...our calendar is open at this point!! Let us know if you find a fun painting to do!!

YAY Carole for "taking charge" of your Tuesday!! I did too and was pretty pleased with my day!! I had brought one of the chicken breasts Jason had grilled and made a sandwich on a slider roll with a nice thick slice of tomato...it was delish!! Added the veggies, watermelon, etc!! Got all but 1 dot yesterday....had to "put out a fire" just as the reminder vibrated on my wrist and I came up a bit short!! No biggie! 8 out of 10 dots at home is great...I know it's sometimes tough to "move it"!! So glad you took the time to go upstairs at the end of your work day like you used to...after all, when in the office you have the ride home to unwind and veg before having to get home and make dinner!! Good job!!
I agree Carole...these gloomy, cloudy days are depressing but the temps for us are in the mid-70's for the most part...that one day of 80 was just that...one day!! LOL! BTW....SW will be adding some new airports/hubs in the next year....maybe one will be Wilmington!! Likely, if they do, it won't be in time for our trip!! LOL...Karen had her "travel agent" working on our trip...no reason you can't have your "travel agents" working on your!!
HAPPY HUMP DAY Gabrielle!!! We have rounded the corner to the weekend!! I'm looking forward to Friday...our annual trip to Dutch Apple with the Y gang. Not sure I mentioned, but one of the couples coming had to cancel...Miss Jill has COVID!! I checked in with her yesterday and she is doing OK...her DH is vaccinated and fine but Jill is not but "rethinking" that choice!! Makes me sad they won't be there but glad she is doing OK so far!! Hopefully breaking the news to the PD Director went smoothly w/o too many emotions!! Sounds like her version of "low maintenance" and yours are two different things!! WTG doing better with water!! We are all a "work in progress"!!
No Gabrielle...I did NOT get a good night's sleep last night...what I slept was pretty good but I made the mistake of checking the Red Sox/Yankees score one more time before I was originally heading to bed and the Yanks had scored so I got sucked in and watched the rest of the game....going to bed at 11:30-ish and getting up around 5:00 is NOT long enough for me!! But my alarm is back to regular time and I plan to be asleep LONG before 11:30pm tonight!! Jason will be the night owl tonight as his Cardinals play their wild card game...my Sox are in, but Jason still has to find out if the Cardinals are!!
Happy to report that I got to Sam's in time before I ran out of gas but I was really down there!! I pushed it a bit longer than I should have!! Looking forward to 2 days w/o Tonya...she's off because she has "drama" at home which both Gloria and I think is bogus but that's for another time...her family is a MESS!! A HUGE MESS!!! And Tonya is the ring leader and enabler!! Not to mention the fact so outright LIED to both of us today!! The longer I work with her the more I dislike the person she is!! I would be embarrassed if she was my daughter and yes, I am old enough to be her mother!! But I will "tough it out" for 3+ years!! She knows that Gloria and I are "on to her attics" and that she is on borrowed time when it comes to her getting away with those antics!! Gloria's evaluation is coming and mine is in February...Mark will be "enlightened" by both of us!!
Jenny...so glad to hear the MRI is scheduled!! As I said, the 19th will be here before you know it! Did you bake the mini-muffins for anything special?? Since I'm not a sweet eater, I usually have to "bake for a reason"!! Jason would love it if I baked more often!! Glad you got a walk too yesterday and can get up and walk a bit even when at work!! Are you home before dark so it is safe to be out walking!! Do you have a stationary bike or do your actually ride a regular bike?? I forget!! LOL, yes I did enjoy the game and Sox win but I did NOT enjoy the short night!! LOL!!
Ate late but finally getting hungry...time for some dinner and then hopefully nodding off soon!! Need a good night's sleep so I feel human tomorrow!!
Waves to all I missed...sweet dreams all!
