Welcome to the Clutter Patrol, formerly CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Joyce, I hope you are doing better today. These last 18 months have been difficult for most of us. Are you still working your regular schedule or extra hours? Having a job you enjoy is good for you.
Martha, thanks for the ((HUGS)). I agree that even volunteering as a sub when I’m available is getting me out and doing something with someone. Plus it is a good thing for my church.
Ruth, I understand about treading lightly with DS and his medical problems. Hope Mara was feeling better by the time you took her home.
I was busy yesterday afternoon. The moving company that we are going to use gives out boxes (some new and some gently used), packing material and tape. So I went over there and picked them up. Once home I packed 4 additional boxes. I cleared off my computer desk, actually it is my desk now but was the family computer desk when we only had one computer. There was a lot of old junk on it and on the shelf. Now most of that is gone. I separated the items when I put them in boxes and marked one “important papers”. At least if I have to look for something I know where to start. We are waiting to hear about the house, today was supposed to be our scheduled closing, but our realtor said that the builder needed to complete a few things before he could get his CO.

Good morning,
Yes, I am feeling better today, not my best but definitely better.
Dottie - my DSIL did all of the packing for their move years ago and said she can’t stand the sound of pulling packing tape. Are you able to use plastic totes too, or do they only want things packed in cardboard?
Martha - I can use all the hugs I can get.
Ruth - thanks for sending me those words of wisdom.
I did have a good cry yesterday. Called my friend earlier today, we talked (nothing specific) and set a date for breakfast next week Friday. She was hoping we could get together before her move.
And yes, I am so grateful for being able to work where I do. One of the Parts department drivers had me laughing yesterday and that felt so good. Fallon’s DBF and former employee stopped by yesterday for an oil change. We talked, he’s doing great in his new job. It’s so cute to listen to Fallon and him interact, so sweet. That made me smile.
Fallon will be giving her 2 week notice tomorrow so I’m sure I’ll be in the boss’s office discussing a new schedule when I get in. When Courtney put in her notice I barely made it through the door before getting called in. Fallon does feel bad that she’ll be leaving us so short handed, but knows that other cashier and I are already making plans for the transition. Even Allie will get a few extra hours the mornings she works.
Got blood work done this morning for my doctor appointment next week. Hoping my cholesterol numbers improved, then I can start focusing on A1C. I have a list of supplements that I want to talk to my doctor about taking. Just want to make sure she’s ok with them. And I’m sure I’ll have to start doing finger stick testing, and even if she doesn’t bring it up I will. I’m realizing I need to know what raises my blood sugar levels.
Enjoy your day

Good afternoon. Joy, I’m so happy to hear that you are feeling some better. It’s so hard to be down like that. I saw that meme and thought of you, so wanted to share. A good cry helps everyone at some point or another. I’m sure all of us have been there.
I hope you can keep in touch with Fallon when she starts her new job! She sounds like a good friend. And it’s nice to have friends of all ages. Keeps us young!
Sounds like you have a good plan in place for your doctor’s visit. I need to put together a list of those for my Endocrinologist and also a couple other tests I’d like to have him do. Are you taking vitamin D? And are you on thyroid meds? I have a full 3 mo prescription of 75 mcg of levothyroxine that was filled by accident that I’d love to give someone who can use it. Anyone?
Dottie, the packing can get overwhelming. I was working full time when we had this house built. So I’d come home most nights and pack a half dozen boxes. We worked on the basement, the kids’ bedrooms that they weren’t using but that had closets and bookshelves that needed packing. And we had the storage unit because we had to move some furniture out to put in new carpet and to make it less crowded. So we had some time. And as I’d clean out a cabinet or the basement, our cleaning lady would come every other week and clean everything I’d emptied out. We paid her to come in the day after we emptied the house, which was the day before closing, to clean the rest of the house. You could have eaten off the bathroom & basement floors. I wish she was still cleaning houses and that I could have her again. She cleaned rings around the gal that we were using before the pandemic started.
Martha, thank you for the hugs. As everyone has said, they are so much appreciated. And sent back at you!!
Yeah, it’s tough working with someone with severe depression. It’s tricky because you don’t know day to day how they are doing and how their mood is! And working with both of them having it makes it a real mess!!
Mara still had not gone; but DS is giving her the miralax also so hopefully she’ll feel better. If not, I’ll give her some tomorrow when we get her.
Tonight I have a haircut / pedicure; but going to have to switch to Saturdays, or else to one of the other stylists. Neither of us like driving after dark and I’ll be driving home in the dark tonight. She will understand if I can’t get in with her on Saturdays. Tomorrow morning I finally see the neurosurgeon. Will see what he suggests. Surgery is not his first option for stenosis; so that is encouraging.
Ok, need to get a few things done. I have a couple loads of laundry going and I want to switch the sheets out on my bed. I got Stan’s done yesterday. Since I quit doing the lower back PT, I can’t do them both the same day.
more later!

(((HUGS))) Had plans for the day and they got cancelled. By staying home, got cookies done for DH. Now to finally make the relish. Can't wait to have a turkey/relish sandwich.
Next week, I have an appt for flu shot. I'm not ready for the 3rd covid shot but will get it. Same with DH. First discussion with DH (part-time work) is on hold for now. The discussion we need to have is regarding my going to Spokane when DB is here.
Joy - Will you & your friend be able to face time or zoom call each other after she moves? Maybe set up a regular time and have a cup of tea/coffee while chatting. (((hugs))) Dottie - Glad you were able to get additional boxes and were able to pack up the important papers. I think I'd put them beside your bed so one of last items taken over. (and the first unloaded) Ruth - I forget that both have issues with depression. Fingers crossed that appt with Neuro goes well tomorrow.
Time to clean up the kitchen. . . .
(((HUGS)))
