This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
All are welcome here.

Good morning and happy Friday!!
Lora, happy belated Birthday to your DD. I hope she had a lovely day. But also, happy BIRTHday to you... the years pass way too quickly. Goodness, that's a lot of destruction from the rain. Here, there are so many flooding areas. Luckily our house sits up a bit higher, but I don't know what families do with the flooding ruining homes. There seems to be a lot of that here.
Janet, sorry you had such a rough day at school. Gosh, I so understand the restroom bit... ugh. But, on the other hand, so nice that the assessments were finished up for you! It sounds like a lot of work!
Jana, that is huge that it's been 6 mos. for Pops not having a drink..fantastic! Glad he's on the mend. Please say that the fridge got fixed. (fingers crossed)
Susie, I am glad the covid test was painless. Gosh that prep for the colonoscopy is the worst... the actual event is nothing, though compared to the prep. I'll be thinking of you. ((((hugs))))
JanetMD, I hope your back is feeling better. Will you have time to relax this weekend?
Today I am not working at school... it's a prof. day to work on report cards. I have the grades in, so today I will work on skill scores and comments. They are due this afternoon, so if I focus, I could get it done in couple of hours. I am going to go buy a chocolate mold so I can make chocolate candy tomorrow. I am practicing on the weekends and figuring things out so I can give chocolates out during the holidays.
I went to the gym yesterday, but today I want to do something active. Recently, I haven't been too active outside of my gym days. Maybe a walk or a nature trail? We'll see what I can talk DH into.
Waving hi to everyone!

Good morning.
About my Dad's eye. When I was in the 2nd grade (100 years ago) he had a detached retina and didn't go to the Dr. forever and he ended up legally blind in his right eye because of it. That was before laser surgery - he ended up at Duke Medical Center in NC for like 3 weeks to have it repaired. Unfortunately the vision in his right eye suffered. Now eye dr. are very careful with his vision and eyes because obviously if he loses vision in his left eye he will really have issues.
Lora I think my Pop picks up on one thing during conversations and he obsesses about it. Remember the whole dementia thing - he obsessed over that for months before finally letting it go. Probably when some other life altering diagnosis came through - maybe when he broke his shoulder.
Sorry about the rain related deaths in your area. That is scary.
Plans for the weekend - hopefully fridge is fixed today - and I can buy groceries after work and have food in my house again! LOL My DS and BIL are supposed to be driving up tomorrow and spending the night with us. DH is going to go to DGS's football game tomorrow night but I am staying home with DS and BIL. I haven't seen my DS since March.
Susie maybe there is an ancient Indian appliance dance (sort of like a rain dance but for appliances) we can all plan to do at the same time that will help the appliance Gods find their way to my house today. LOL We will be getting a new one in the near future, maybe the beginning of the year but until then - I just want to have a fridge in my kitchen again. I understand about the colonoscopy. I have to have one in November. Unfortunately I didn't write the date down so I am not sure when in November. I need to go home and get that paper work back out and look at it.
Janet sorry for your horrible, miserable, no good day yesterday. Fingers are crossed that today is better for you.
Jill I hope you find an active activity that you enjoy. I haven't been very active myself.
I still need to finish planting the flowers I bought but I haven't made it to pick up the potting soil because after work most nights I am TIRED. I do have a slight headache this morning and I have no idea why.
I am waving to everyone and I hope everyone has a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend.

Good morning friends.
I've already been to the local grocery for the weekly shop, and this time no drama with the truck not starting and all that went along with that. Lol. Pheewwwwww! Thank goodness!
Tomorrow we're having smoked pulled pork, deviled eggs and slaw for our Football Saturday food. I made the slaw and eggs this morning and the pork just needs to be heated up, so we're all good to go for that. Yay! I've also vacuumed the house and cleaned CCs pen and enjoyed my fill of coffee for the day. Not a bad list of accomplishments for 10am, I'd say.
I might get back out in a bit and head down to the park path that runs beside the lake (Jana and Susie know this one). A nice walk might be just the thing today since I haven't gotten to spend much outside time this week due to all of the rain.
Well, I need to get moving on something I suppose. I'll def be checking back in later. BBL & have a great Friday everyone!

Oh gosh! It was perfect weather for walking by the lake. The temp was about 72, the sky was bright blue, white puffy clouds and there was a light breeze. All of the birds were singing, the ducks were quacking, the geese were honking and there were people fishing from the shore and out on the lake on their boats. I walked 4.5 miles and while I was out there I noticed one of the resident bald eagles was up flying and soaring around over the lake, low enough that I could see its white head and big orange feet. Then all of the sudden it took a steep dive toward the water, pulled up short and snatched a fish out of the water with his huge clawed feet. He flapped a couple of times then started gaining height and headed off into the trees. We've probably all seen that exact scene on nature shows and such, but I'm telling you it was ahhhhhmazing to see it happen right in front of me. What a sight!
Jana - you say the word, and I'm ready do my version of the ancient indian appliance dance! I mean, if an eagle is able to get his lunch that easily, you should be able to as well. Lol. From a working fridge in your kitchen of course, not raw and flopping out of the lake. Haha.
Jill - I hope you find something fun and active to get into today, and that it works out as wonderfully as mine did.
Susie - ugh. sorry about the colonoscopy prep. After the last one, DHs Dr. told him it was fine to switch to the home testing where they send you a test kit, you provide a "sample" and send it back to the lab. After his last colonoscopy where they found not only no polyps, but also found that his diverticula had all healed up, he said there was no longer the need for invasive monitoring. Thank goodness!
Janet - Oh gosh! I hope today is better. Anybody would be in trouble if they thought I'd be able to hold it all day. Lol. Although, YAY that the observations are all complete!

Hello Everyone....got to the gym, picked up DGS and dropped him off at school (since DDIL had to take DS for a medical appt), walked with DD, and played Hand & Foot. Tomorrow morning I have to be up early and at the clubhouse to set things up for the monthly "coffee." Afterward, I will be off to DGS's soccer game.
Jill- yippee for having your grade finished and getting the afternoon to work on the skills scores and comments.
Jana - P L E A S E tell me my "fridge dance" worked and it is all fixed, so you can load it up with food and have a great weekend.
Lora - I think I would have been mesmerized by the bald eagle at the lake. I know that the park walk by the lake was fabulous! I think if this colonoscopy looks fine, when I am due for the next one in 10 years, I will ask for that short one OR for a Dr that only requires the little bottles of crap to drink - lol!
Janet - sorry for your awful day yesterday. Glad that at least your partner got some of your work completed.
Waving to everyone....have a good night

Hi Everyone, Well, today was easier than yesterday. The child with Autism didnt come although the other boy that also has issues was here and a pain. In some ways I think he is worse than the child who has the Autism. Yesterday he kept bothering the other kids and today too. On Fridays they go home earlier too. Since the child who has the Autism didnt come tho I didnt have to struggle with him to stay on his cot tho. Tommorow I have a eye doctor appointment with my opthamalogist in the morning. I dont have plans after that but may do my food shopping. I may try to get to the bank before going to the doctor..I have Monday off for Indigenous Native Day. I have to confirm with my friends about the details. One thing I dont have to do is my lesson plan. I finished it today. Yeah! It was only for 3 days this week. I didnt change too much from last year's plan. I still may do some other work tho to start getting ready for the conferences. I hope everyone had a great day.
