Welcome to the Clutter Patrol, formerly CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Joyce, glad to hear that you are doing better and you will be able to get together with your friend before she moves. Let us know how your doctor visit goes. We are doing all the packing and moving of the small stuff (boxes/tubs/lights) ourselves and just have the moving company move the furniture. We have used a mixture of boxes and tubs. It is a lot of work but we were surprised at how expensive the actual move is going to be.
Ruth, I hope Mara feels better soon, it’s not good when someone is constipated, especially a little one. Do you mix the miralax with milk for Mara? I understand about working with someone with mental problems. In one of my jobs one of the ladies was bi-polar, never knew from day to day what mood she would be in. When she was manic she would spend her money like crazy and when she was depressed she wouldn’t talk or do any of her work. It was difficult. I take Synthroid and have taken levothyroxine but my dose is higher. Hope you have a good visit with your neurosurgeon, let us know the results.
Martha – going to Spokane with your DB sounds like a nice get away. Do you have family in that area?
The builder still doesn’t have the CO. Bill has been talking with the lawyer and realtor a lot yesterday afternoon. We don’t know why they can’t get a CO, hopefully it can be resolved soon. I got my flu shot at Walgreen’s this morning. I’m glad that is done for the season.
I have spinal stenosis also. My sons were both delivered by c-section. With my oldest DS I had pre-eclampsia and he was in distress, so the doctor did an emergency c-section. When DS#2 was born they recommended that it be a c-section (due to the way the incision was for DS#1). I was supposed to be awake for the birth – didn’t happen. The anesthesiologist had trouble with getting the spinal needle in, he called the head of the department and he couldn’t get the spinal started. So they had to put me out. A few days after the DS#2 was born, the head of the department stopped by my room and talked to me. He said he felt there was a problem with my lower spine and I would never be able to have a spinal. I didn’t find out what the actual problem was till about 20 years later when I was having back problems. So far no major problems, I will have back problems off and on, but usually a few days rest and doing my stretches help.

Good afternoon,
Fallon gave our boss her 2 week notice yesterday. Boss’s daughter was going in for ear tube surgery today and Fallon didn’t want to wait until Monday. Boss was very understanding and is actually happy for Fallon as she starts her true career. Yep, I was called into the office and we discussed my new hours. I will be starting FT on the 25th. She is going to look for a replacement but knows it will be difficult. We’ll manage. Fallon is happy to be able to discuss things openly, so are we.
I organized my cubicle yesterday, updated my vendor list and created my daily and Saturday todo list so that I can stay focused. I don’t want things to fall too far behind.
And I’m going to work on my at home todo list. Following some of the decluttering sites, I want a daily and weekly checklist so that I can keep what I’ve organized and continue to downsize/declutter.
Ruth - I take levothyroxine but 50, not 75. Thanks for thinking of us.
I got my blood work results already. A few years ago my total cholesterol reached 259, dr said I was a heart attack waiting to happen. Couldn’t take statins so I decided to try plant sterols/stanols that I discovered on HSN of all places. We’ll, good new - very good news … total cholesterol is now 187. I can’t believe I got it under 200, first time since menopause. My LDL went from a high of 188 to 118. Still some work there, but overall I’m very happy. My A1C dropped a tenth, but it dropped. Now to talk to dr. about adding supplements to see if they can help there. I’ve been doing a lot of reading and I’m convinced I can get my A1C under 6 if I can use those supplements. My plan will also include increasing exercise. I needed good news and got it. Doing a happy dance!
We’ll, I’m running late so I’ll end here. Waving hi to everyone. See ya tomorrow

In Spokane, we still have belongings (in a locked basement) and a vehicle at the house. The main part of house is rented out. Whenever we are in that area, we can stay in the basement. It has a separate entrance. I think the longest we have stayed there is 2 months. It is an awkward situation having the owners come stay but. . . We did have relatives that lived in Spokane but they have since moved. Those belongings have been moved from OR to CA (several locations) to ID to Clarkston WA and to Spokane WA in my lifetime. Parents hadn't lived in Clarkston for about 10 yrs. It looked like they had just left for a vacation. The house in Spokane wasn't quite as bad. Those 10 yard dumpsters? We filled one up at least 5x and made multiple trips to second hand stores.
Joy - WooHoo on getting your lab numbers lower!! Even getting A1C down .1, is good. Small steps. Glad your boss was happy for Fallon & her new job. Dottie - The moving hassles have to end soon!! Even tho it took about 20 yrs for problem to show itself, at least you were aware of an issue due to Head of dept. coming to talk to you. Ruth - Hoping things are going better for Mara (and anyone around her!)
Joy's daily/Sat job list grabbed me. I know having a regular routine helped when working. So, I think having a schedule of what/when to do things will help me also.
My only meds are Methotrexate & Fluoxetine. I try to keep my meds out of sight as one is controlled/monitored. When I have to take during work day, I would only take prescribed dosage amount with me.
I'll be getting my flu shot on Monday. I'll leave early for appt so can get hair cut prior. My hair is bothering me & I don't feel comfortable cutting it this time.
Past time for me to get busy.... (((hugs)))(((hugs)))(((hugs)))(((hugs)))(((hugs)))(((hugs)))(((hugs)))(((hugs)))(((hugs)))(((hugs)))(((hugs)))(((hugs)))(((hugs)))(((hugs)))(((hugs)))(((hugs)))(((hugs)))(((hugs)))(((hugs)))
