Audrey Great job being vigilant. πππππππ Trusting my instincts have saved me several times. I always try to be aware in parking lots, too.
Ann Agreeing w/ you & LaDonna, one donut apiece is a nice treat. Great report for Carl.
LaDonna I have worn glasses since 2nd grade. But I am glad the they fix my vision.

Sleep well everyone. Have a few more nurse & housekeepin tasks before sticking a fork in the day. Fully intend to sleep until 7 am or 7:30 am. Yep. . . I know how to live on the edge.

June, we sleep till 7 on the weekends. Even if my body wakes up, I can fall back asleep. Noraβs team won 4-3 and todayβs game is 1:50. She is a bit less enthusiastic than her teammates but participated when she had to. Yesterday I returned to tracking and hydrating. Today Iβll add the moving part. The planning is done. In addition to soccer, Iβll wash sheets and towels and work on mail and packages. I try to order Christmas and birthday gifts in October and take advantage of sales. Have a peaceful day.

I will KOKO - it is slowly working so I will stick with it
Talked to our daughter last night and hope to talk to our son and his family tonight.
There was a naughty mosquito buzzing my ear last night and as we had no electricity after 1am found myself under the blanket, too hot, wishing it would go away. If there is electricity then the vape mat and fan deter the buzzing bugs...will put sheets on and ditch the duvet for now as it is too hot hunkered under blankets with face covered!
I have white beans soaking and will cook a bag of them to freeze, use in soup, or make other meals with.
I was thinking that I could/should set a goal of fixing/altering one garment per day or every other day or whatever...there are some easier fixes with elastic to run through waistbands but others might require more like seams and hems and such.
BROOMHILDA: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broom-Hilda seems she showed up in 1970 and was thought up by the person who did Lil' Abner. More information about her, the cartoon, etc in the link shared.
AUDREY: I would love to be able to attend our granddaughters' swim and school events! How great you were aware and stayed in the car till someone could escort you into the salon!
JUNE: I hope that your husband is on the mend and nursing duties decrease daily.
MJ: How are your grandsons feeling about school this year? It sounds like they are keeping busy and you are, too!
LADONNA: I hope Laken and your husband enjoyed the tournament and your son enjoys getting paid for overtime. I also hope you managed to accomplish the goals you set for the day. Your pineapple salsa sounds yummy...haven't had pineapple for a LONG time!
ANN: Hope your back stops hurting! Glad to hear that your husband's checkup sees him seeing so well!
BEE: Waving back at you!

Good morning
Audrey That's a busy start of the week. Super that you could get back into gear quickly. It always takes me about three days. I guess my body did not listen to me. (Usually my inner alarm does what it is told).
Cathy Ugh. . . The whine of a hungry mosquito is not a sound you want to hear at night. That would be a workable plan. Before you know it, you would have a lot accomplished.
Originally, R's surgery was supposed to involve a 3-month recovery. That included 1 month in a splint. Will ask the dr. on Weds. if that changed b/c of the total wrist fusion. Did not like the skin tones around the open area of his incision Called the clinic help line & sent pictures. Dr. agreed that there was no sign of infection. Said that sterlite strips during surgery caused the square bruising. LOL. . . I was not cut out to be a nurse.

Good morning all. Slept well and grateful. My back is feeling much better. Today being Sunday is my official DOR so nothing resembling 'chores' shall get done. I've stripped the bed and sheets are washing as I type. Shower is done and will finish computer stuff and have breakfast and coffee. Then walk Benjamin. Carl will be busy getting the lawn mower ready for next season and getting the snow blower ready for this season. He likes being outdoors so this is not work for him. June thanks for the start. You beat me by a year with wearing glasses. Unfortunately for me my vision remains very poor. I've learned to adjust. So long as I can use my kindle to read and see with eyeglasses to type I'm 'good to go'. I just don't make out faces while walking when someone toots and waves. I just follow their lead R is very blessed having you as a nurse/wife. You surely remain on top of things. Audrey you are very organized and busy being back from vacation. I know the PTMH will happen. Good to order early and take advantage of sales. Cathy and Audrey thanks for the info re: Brook Hilda! All I remember is she always had a broom in her hand! Great idea to set aside time to alter clothing. Enjoy your beans. WAving to all and will CBL

Yesterday the Kressling came over after his soccer game and the Zigster was also dropped off. After the Kressling & I got fresh haircuts, he came back here and waited for Ciocie Shell to pick him up for his birthday weekend. She got to meet Pippin before they headed out. The Zigster stayed until 8 PM, when Son#1 and K'ling2 came in after the first day of the soccer tournament.
Today Toots will take the Zigster to his 8:30 AM soccer game while Son#1 and K'ling2 head back out for Day 2 of the tournament. It's drizzly out but the rain's not supposed to really come in until this afternoon. So we'll spend the day doing CinderElla/Fella chores and watching football and NASCAR Cup series (Charlotte NC).
Coffee... βοΈβοΈβοΈ... breakfast... and morning prayer...
π·ππππ·ππππ·ππππ·ππππ· Be well! Have a healthy-eating day, all! π·ππππ·ππππ·ππππ·ππππ·

June - Thanks for the start. LOL on living on the edge by sleeping in. Audrey - Good job being aware of your surroundings. This year it will be especially smart to shop early given the expected shortages. Cathy - Nice if you can alter some of the clothes. Sorry about the bug in your ear Ann - Glad you slept well. My friend Judy had never had a cider donut. Fortunately we found them at Smithville yesterday. The only think missing was they weren't warm. But she totally enjoyed it. MJ - Don't forget the Jets are on at 9:30 from London. Enjoy your day. Friday night we got take out from a local Mediterranean Halal restaurant and just hung out on the deck with a fire in the fire pit. Our friend Laura joined us yesterday morning and we went to Historic Smithville for the Irish festival, Blue Rascal Distillery and Valenzano winery for a wine tasting. Penny's daughter surprised everyone (except me and Penny) by joining us for dinner as Xina. After that it was back to my house to hand out and just talk. Still waiting for the remaining 3 to show up for breakfast. It's drizzling so that cut my walk with Lily short. I don't think there is much, if anything, on the agenda today. We'll see.

Susi sounds like you had a fantastic time. It looks like it could drizzle here but so far, so good. Will be saddling up Benjamin to get his walk in.
Enjoy your agenda free day.
MJ enjoy watching NASCAR and football.

Yesterday was one year ago I had surgery.
This morning I walked with my cane, and my sister near, twice across the deck and back --- 120 steps, and then down and back up the small stairs.
One hip is hollering as I stand different to use the cane, causing joints to meet differently.
It was scary, but I have to give up Ryder sometimes.
Yes, I am overwhelmed. And I thank you ALL for all the prayers.

Hi Everyone, I had a busy morning getting some taco soup ready to take to church for our fall picnic. We had other types of chili, baked potatoes, cornbread, salads and desserts. We ate outdoors as it was such a beautiful day and it was Pastor appreciation Sunday so we were celebrating that as well. The rest of today will be spent with family and relaxing. Will try and get a walk in afterwhile when it cools down a little. Its looking like fall but not feeling like it much.
June, glad all was well with R and I don't blame you for wanting to check out anything you don't feel quite right about. It makes you just feel better to get reassurance. I've been wearing glasses/contacts since elem school as well. 13 years ago I had Lasik but vision is not quite as crisp and clear as it first was. Its certainly better though.
Audrey, great job being on top of the holidays. I think this year its going to be difficult for people to find things esp those who wait last minute. My "Roll Tide" friends are in shock this morning.
Cathy, Isn't that the most annoying thing to have one buzzing overhead while trying to sleep?
Ann, how sweet of you to send Mindy a card. I hope she is feeling well. I did the bed stuff yesterday. Always love that first night sleeping on the fresh laundered bedding.
Susi, your birthday weekend sounds just perfect! what a great way to celebrate.
MJ, enjoy the day watching your faves.
Bee, prayers continue for your healing and for you to have peace.
waving to Becky
