This thread is for all of us who have been on the weight loss merry-go-round quite a few times. We have banded together to make this our FINAL time. We offer support & motivation, WEIGHT LOSS TIPS, food ideas – whatever you need to make it your FINAL time. If you start the day’s thread, please copy and paste this paragraph, with the following 2021 Goals:
Carole: 1.) Journal Daily, thoughts, feelings, ideas 2.) Track daily, Good, Bad, Ugly, HONESTLY 3.) Move every day, 10-30 minutes, as able 4.) Limit/Reduce Alcohol, All of it! 5.) Be thankful for something - every day
Gabrielle 1. Wellness--take steps each day to address better wellness (moving, attention to my eating, getting sleep, etc. 2. Debt-- continue to take steps to eliminate debt (including the kids college debt that we are covering) so that I have no debt when I retire 3. Connectedness-- each month have a plan to stay connected to those who I care about (maybe dinner once/month after COVID, Zoom, phone calls, etc. 4. Creativity -- seek out projects that keep me using the creative side of my brain (knitting, paint parties?, etc.)
Sue: 1. Get moving - plan to utilize my Cubii 3-5 times per week at least 2. Moderation - limiting junk, snacks, wine and all things I know that sabotage my success 3. Daily Gratitude - continue our November daily gratitude. 4. Start a journal - my "Life & Apples" journal will arrive later in the week. 5. Be more "present" - in life, in my journey, with family & friends, in all aspects of my world
Jenny: 1) I'm moving to a clean eating plan like more veggie dishes and less red meat 2) I pulled out my Bob Harper from the Biggest Loser's " Yoga for weight loss DVD" and do that in the evening since it's pouring down rain here. 3) Cut way back on the wine at nights, they sell those tiny little bottles that have 5oz in them and limit myself to only 1-2 per day, that can work right? 4) Track everything even if I'm in the negatives and hold myself accountable
Christine: 1. Cardio exercise daily (walk, stationary bike) 2. FOLLOW Keto Plan using Honesty. 3. Daily gratitude - Say something NICE each morning
Karen: 1. Take one step at a time and be kind to myself 2. Move by getting my kayak as often as possible. 3. Keep on Noomin' it seems to be working for now. 4. Try to sleep reasonably.
Shelly: 1. Be more organized at work. Never leave with stuff on my desk 2. Be there for people when they need someone to lean on 3. Stick with WW plan!!! No matter what!!!! 4. Be a better influence on those around me.

Good Sunday Morning!
I'm up and need to do some schoolwork but DH is asleep in the living room where I normally do it... so I am trying not to turn on the lights to see the book I need to see. I kind of wish he would go back to the bedroom... but I'll let him be, I guess!
So let me tell you about my principal. This week we were scheduled to have a PLC (Professional Learning Community) meeting with just the 7 sixth-grade teachers. But he decided to come in and present data that he wanted us to be aware of. Fine. Data is important, but it doesn't speak to WHO the children are and WHAT they're going through. So he starts to project this data from last year's standardized tests (that we were assured would not be held against us since they were only in school 2 days per week for most of the year) but he was there nonetheless doing it. Guys, I'm not gonna' lie the numbers are not great, but nobody is surprised. He had also added the current STAR scores (another program that we use to see if our students are proficient in math and reading) and I could immediately see that his data was wrong. He claimed that we only had 30 proficient 6th graders in reading and I know that out of my 46 students I have 45 who are considered proficient... and when I asked he bit my head off. Fine. Then he proceeded to tell us how scores were calculated and basically that if we don't bring them up that our teaching contracts would be null and void and we would all be terminated. Well, me and my big mouth said, "Nobody wants our jobs." "There is nobody standing in the wings waiting to fill our positions." and finally, "Maybe it is just time for me to retire." Yep, I said those things, and he told me to take my complaints up with our superintendent. Fine. I can do that. No problem. His data was wrong. I decided that I had had enough of his threatening tone and decided I would take a walk to the bathroom... since the meeting was occurring in my classroom. When I returned he pulled me into another classroom and began to pace and told me what a terrible person I am to question his numbers (did I mention that they were wrong?) and I told him that my tone was probably less than polite at the end and I wished to apologize. Then he went on to tell me that people come to him all of the time and tell him that I "don't like him." I asked who. I mean, I get to know who my accusers are. I told him it wasn't true. I don't dislike him. I simply don't trust him. At that point, he came up to me real close in my face and asked, "But do you love me?" "I love you." He held my hands and looked me square in the eye and asked again. I said, "I like you just fine, I just don't trust you. Do I love you? Sure, I love people with the love of Christ. I am a good teacher, and it feels like you would prefer if I never stepped foot in your school again." Then he proceeded to bring up my daughter and stupid son-in-law. I told him that it is unfair to judge me on the single worst year of my life and then I cried. I told him that if I had my way the problems with DD and Stupid SIL would have been fixed well over a year ago, but they refuse and that is a THEM problem not a ME problem and it is totally irrelevant to my teaching and what I am doing in my classroom as a teacher with my students. He agreed, but he needed to. He had stepped over so many professional boundaries that he needed to do some major backpeddling.
I went out of the room. Clearly upset, pulled myself together and taught the rest of the day and he sent me an email saying that he would like to gain my trust. I didn't respond. So (with students in my room) he came to my room, across the room to my desk and asked if we were ok. I said, sure, we're ok.
The rest of the week he was in super suck up mode. He wants me to sit down and work on data with him. (Ummmm I'm not doing this alone or before or after school hours.) He is a stupid stupid man... and I believe I could easily have him reprimanded. (I told the head of HR last year that he didn't mean to humiliate me but he had done it.)
I have handled it with as much grace as I can, but I don't trust this man and I doubt that I ever will. Do I like him, sure. I think his intentions are always good, but he is not cut out for this job.
Sorry... just had to get it off my chest... this isn't something you can talk about just anywhere. Sorry.

Gabrielle: Your rain on Thursday night sounds like it was quite an event! How was your run and your mani/pedi? Sounds like you had a great day planned! Carole: How was the apple orchard? It sounds like Eden is going through some pretty hard times emotionally. I'm so sorry to hear that. Is her mom getting her any help with all of this anxiety? (I don't mean meds... but that might help, I mean with someone to talk to. It is something I wish that I had done with my Anna when she was young, but didn't it was a thing I should do back in the day.) I'm so glad Zoe is a huggable little one still! What a mess with the fella with the power and scam and stuff... Good for you to be able to catch what is going on and help the guy! Jenny: A roommate who sleeps all day...weird. Makes me want to ask many many questions! Good for you catching that Phishing scam. People are nuts out there! Good morning to all who follow... I'm going to see if I can't get that schoolwork done this morning before church... maybe I'll just turn on that light and DH will leave the Livingroom...

Good Morning ~ I feel lost and out of the loop but it's my own doing for not getting here more often. I hope to change that as I really do miss everyone here! Gabrielle - hooray for RAIN!! And a new landscaper coming to complete projects you can finally see the outcome for - new lawn sounds wonderful! I also meant to say how proud of you I am that FINALLY others at work can see all you have been doing to support, support, support them and move things forward. Well desvered recognition, my friend Sue - How was the Dutch Apple on Friday? I'm guessing yesterday was a busy day with the boys' games? Glad to hear you had a reprieve from Tonya's constant complaints and lack of work ethic. That would be very hard for me to keep my mouth shut too. Not sure I would wait for my annual review to share concerns about her. How is everything with your DM and finding the balance for her health? Jenny - glad this physician wants a closer look as to what really is going on with your heart and if there is any real reason to be concerned. Geesh, your anxiety must have been high waiting to meet with him for a follow up! Glad, oh so glad, to hear that maybe tests were mis-interpreted and that really everything will be alright Carole - WOW to your Eden. WTH?? Do you think it's Jaclyn planting seeds of panic and worry, that Eden is picking up on it? I'm glad Zoe just sort of rolls with it all and even states her mind! How was the apple picking? Will you make applesauce out of the crop? So glad to see you are finding a nice balance between working at home and popping in the Office one day a week - sounds like the perfect world. Good for you!! And wow to catching the SCAM your poor Ken and the store got caught up in! Thanks for that tip to keep an eye out for such calls! Is today Game Day at your house? DH is watching his beloved LA Chartgers here at 4:05 pm. Not four o'clock, but five minutes after four. EYE ROLL lol He has gotten poor Linds pulled into his football team and cheering them on each weekend. No problem, but I fear it pulls her away from much needed school work. Which is a whole other story - I just can't go there - whether or not she will finish this Grad school program. Sigh. Anyways, today I plan to make some meals to have leftovers for lunch this week. Karen - WOW. Is all I can say about dumb principals. I read your description and feel very uncomfortable for you with his behavior towards you one:one. "Do you love me?" Ummm...I probably would have reported him to HR immediately for that statement and threat alone. But then I don't know the whole context. It sounds like you do like him as a good person and well intentioned but a poor professional relationship. He is definitely in over his head and WTH was he trying to say about the data and threatening teachers' contracts?? WHO put him up to that?? I have worked with superintendents in the past who thought lighting a fire was needed to improve scores but c'mon man! EVERYBODY knows the last 18 months of academics was NOT fair to judge children or teachers - our State Test scores are just sitting - yep, they should go out to parents with a letter explaining "Don't judge a book by it's cover" type of statement, but I'm floored, out of nowhere an Education Leader would grab those scores and try to force changes. You were very right to question him. The setting was not a schoolwide meeting but just a team meeting - I don't know, Karen. I just shake my head.

I have one more contract report to finsih this weekend (oops, I guess that means today) and plan to head into my work office to finish another report to meet timelines. No students tomorrow, but Teachers meetings. Like Karen, too many meetings going no where (in my opinion) when what I really NEED is quiet time to power through report writing for the school. During the usual work hours I'm consumed and pulled in many directions with students showing symptoms of COVID or parents with symptoms so we need to pull kids out of class and send them home as 'close contacts' and arrange work to be sent home OR enter into virtual instruction. It's crazy - and so time consuming - and when I mentioned it to the Prince he came at me with, "then write your reports at home or before/after work" UNFAIR! And I confronted him with that - he apologized but said we are in the midst of a Pandemic and I needed to be a team player. I am over it. Queen B continues to run around the school with her head out of sorts - she looks awful! - like she's ready to cry at any moment and ANGRY at everyone including children and parents. What a mess. An absolute mess. I can't fix crazy. I try to lay low, do my j.o.b. and not offer to help because honestly, she campaigned for this, and we all know the Prince was more than happy to hand her the reins and now she's totally out of sorts. She still bursts into my office making demands that contradict life. LOL Here's an example, she demanded I call an acute partial hospitalization school program to place an autistic Kindergartener for a psychiatric evaluation. I stopped dead and said, "Why? He's Autistic not psychiatric. There's no pill for that." She didn't know what to say but insisted I place this child in another program because SHE can't get a handle on his autistic behaviors. She's not following through with the behavior support plan we developed. Nor is the Kindergarten teacher. Shaking my head here and not getting too involved. It's ridiculous. I am scheduled for surgery this week - have I mentioned that here?? - it's to repair an incarcerated umbilical hernia - had it for years and now it's gotten worse - so yes, I will make the time to get this taken care of. I am taking a WEEK off work (Sick leave) to 'heal' when actually all I need is two days (hee hee) - the surgeon assured me that Thursday will be the surgery and by Monday I could return to work. But I don't want to return that early - so I told the Prince due to HIPPA laws they cannot ask what kind of surgery I'm having, but I will need a full week, maybe more, to recover. That scared him enough not to ask too many questions - I think I'll head to Fulton Co. next week 'to rest and recover' while I work with children, parents, and teachers that actually appreciate my work. I find that very fulfilling and healing. I'll return home before Friday and rest. AND then see if I feel up to returning to the circus. Probably not. I might need a few more days to rest

Question about our Oak Island retreat - I know Karen is asking the realtor to rent a space as an exception - and maybe it's still off-season there enough that they would bend the rules for a Thur - Mon rental - if not, would Airbnb or VHBO be an option to check? I did an AirBnB for our condo that traditionally is only week to week but surprised that I was accepted for Thur - Mon rental. Just a thought. Let me know if I can be of any assistance - I'll wait for our Karen to work her magic first Enjoy the Simple things in Life today!

Happy Dreary Sunday morning from Glenville...the rains are done I think but we are not to see sun still for about 2 more days...this gloomy weather is getting to me! While still warm enough for shorts and short sleeves the gloomy is getting depressing!! So time to just go back and 'get back in the loop' here...
Gabrielle...I will say that although not quite as good as my "warmer days" water intake, I have done better this week but some days I just have to force myself. I used to be one that would just habitually drink a certain amount but lately it seems I'm slid into the pattern of drinking when I'm thirsty and I know that is TOO late...if you are thirsty, it means you are already starting to dehydrate!! I will try hard to continue to improve as the winter months come. Yes...hydration is key is so many aspects of our lives, NOT just our weight loss/maintenance journeys!! Great idea to keep the water handy. I will say for me the water cooler is easy since I walk past it to head to the BR and it's right beside the fridge so it is very handy for me and I need to try and just make a habit of maybe leaving a cup or something near it as I walk past just fill it with some extra ounces, chug them and move onto the BR or warming my lunch!! While it won't add up to more than a couple cups a day if I drink 3-6 ounces at a shot...it will be more this time of year!! How fun to have another 1/2 marathon to look forward to in November. A getaway to SF with friends will be fun too!!
Oh...update on Jill....I had messaged her on Tuesday and she said she was feeling better! I was relieved for that improvement. TC, another 'Y' family friend, chatted with her on Wednesday and she said she didn't feel great but was indeed better...well on the way to Dutch Apple, we all saw a post from her daughter on FB that said she was not in the hospital with pneumonia and on O2. NOT what we wanted to hear!! Apparently she went into the hospital on Thursday sometime because her breathing was getting harder and harder. Last night when we got home from Kellen's game I saw this update....Just a quick update for those asking.
I talked to my mom Jill Place today. She sounded a bit better than yesterday. She has pneumonia but was told it wasn’t too severe. She got additional scans today but haven’t gotten those results yet. She was in better spirits today and is so grateful to all those who are keeping her in their thoughts and prayers. She told me she can feel all the prayers coming her way! She isn’t better yet so please keep the good vibes and prayers coming! ❤️❤️❤️❤️Thank you everyone! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hoping that she soon really does round a corner to being healthy again!! She is an AWESOME, kind, giving person and this is just tough for me!! She is so special to our entire Y family!!! Not sure I mentioned, her DH has had the vaccine for months and so have several of her kids/spouses...but Jill was hesitate of the "new vaccine" so she was waiting...sure hope that doesn't backfire on her. I think she is definitely rethinking that now as she is the only one that contracted it and they have all been to mostly the same places/groups of people!
As for Dutch Apple...not only was it awesome to hang out it some old friends...like 30+ years for many of them...the show was FANTASTIC!!! If you ever get a chance to see "Mamma Mia"...do it!! It's happy, upbeat, you'll know all the music and it just makes you smile!! The cast was phenomenal!! Everyone commented when it was over....'we can see that one again'!!!

Carole...glad the warmer days seem to be sort of finding you but sounds like you have been in the same foggy/gloomy pattern as we are!! WTG on "working it" on Wednesday....keep up the great work!! You are the water guru around here most of the time...I'm never worried about you on "Thirsty Thursday"!!
I agree, it is odd that the cost to fly to the Oak Island area is the same for east & west coast folks but it might be the smaller airport thing on the east. Have you checked into Raleigh and then renting a car for the 3 hour trip to the coast. I think that's about what it is?? Will admit, I'm not a fan of driving the whole way (9-10 hours for me)but with me having to come down on Saturday I don't want anyone of you to have to run to get me at the airport. I would consider flying into Wilmington or Myrtle Beach on Saturday but then would need to Uber or have you ladies get me and that's a hassle!! For me the problem with driving is that I will only get about 36 hours together and then spend over 24 on the road with driving, stopping for meals and potty stops. Our usual "weekend" road trips are in the 6-8 hours one way kind, not the 10-12 hour kind. Even though the driving time is just under 9 hours....you always have to tack on an hour or 2 for all the stops, traffic, construction, etc.
December 5th or 12th will work for me for another virtual paint night!!! Just let me know so I can get it on my calendar!! After next Saturday when we head to American Music Theater FINALL to use our Christmas 2019 gift from Hannah & Shea we have nothing really planned for the weekends until we leave for Hannah's on the 16th of December. Snowman or something to keep out all winter. Maybe a snowman with a cardinal sitting on the fence post near by?? I love the idea of the cardinals signifying those gone before who come back to check up on us. I will say that since losing Jason's folks and my dad...we see more cardinals out our way these days?? Who knows but I remember Gram, our family bird watcher, always saying that a cardinal is those loved ones letting us know they are only gone from this earth, NOT from our hearts!!
Yes Carole...the OT is always more fun when it gets "silly" early and we just chat, laugh and cover tip...depends on the group but the bunch of us "regulars" can usually get the chatter started and make the 2 hours go by!!
OK...here is the mini version of the "straw that broke the camel's back" with Tonya. She had said that she was going to get her Multiphasic labwork done on Wednesday morning on her way in...the lab opens at 7:00am and she drives right past the one location on her way to work...not at all out of her way!! OK...sounds like a good plan! Gloria and I were both curious about how long it would take since were all getting it and had to use the voucher since it was not on-site as originally planned. So I said "so, how was the process for the blood work" and she responded "I overslept so didn't go because I didn't want to be late". I commented "wow, the lab didn't open until 7:00, you must have overslept, you are usually up shortly have Mike leaves at 5:00am"! She said "yea, I was tired"! I didn't think anything of it until I started time sheets and all of us are on the same list so when I went to pull up Clark's, the 1st one I do every morning...she had punched in at work at 5:58am!!!! SHE LIED FLAT OUT....I don't trust her as far as I can throw her!!
BUT....that was not the end!! On Thursday, Gloria got two emails in Tonya's inbox regarding emails that had been sent Wednesday after we left (Tonya was out the door before Gloria and I so we know she didn't stay late)...anyway, they said "you responded" and Gloria is saying "no, there is no email thread or old email". We thought it odd and then she got a call from Margie, one of our shippers about a 3rd one!! Now I was was pi$$ed too! So I told Gloria to check Barracuda, our archive for emails....Tonya lives by Barracuda to check up on us when she is off...well this time it bit her in the a$$!! We checked Barracuda and sure enough, she was checking email from home which she is NOT allowed to do as hourly and then responded at 6:18, proceeded to delete the original email, all sent emails about them and then emptied her trash bin so they were no longer on her PC...but as we know, it is never gone with Barracuda!!
Mark just happened to come over about an hour later with our paychecks and Gloria looked a him and said "If you don't think I can handle being Tonya's back up than let someone else do it...I'm tired of being treated like I'm stupid, not being told things so I come off to others like I can't do my job"...he was blind-sided! So we gave him the lowdown!! I told him "yes, I am the 'new kid on the block' over here but I'm not stupid, I try to learn more and I don't need to be talked down to in a condescending tone when I ask a question....you told me to learn more about the job last year at my evaluation but Tonya is NOT willing to show or teach either of us anything"! I told him she is a micro-manager and she is not our boss but only gives us the "skut work" she doesn't want to do and thinks is what we can handle. I also mentioned she is not a team player, she tells us she doesn't need any help but then comes in early for OT that is NOT needed and proceeds to tell everyone how busy she is. Gloria added about her taking 2-3 days of UNNEEDED OT to come and also waste most of those work days "catching up" which means going over every email, sent email, etc. He said "delete them"....we quickly reminded him that Barracuda is Tonya's "best friend" and she goes and retrieves everything and double checks up on us to see how we handled things. We both told him that she is NOT a team player and goes out of her way to make us appear stupid and incapable. So it's out there....I expect a rough couple days this week but Gloria and I both feel better letting the "cat out of the bag" and Mark is now "almost" fully aware of her antics.
OK....Jason is up so time to make the blueberry pancakes and wait for Hannah's FT. Yesterday was Kale's birthday but they were busy and we just had a crazy day so he will open gifts today!!
Will pop in later....Jason will be in the yard and lot most of the day so I'm just vegging!! Think it might just be a curl up and settle in for some DVR clearing off.

Good Morning Karen - Thanks for starting us off again this morning ☼ Another dreary looking day out here!
Jenny: So glad Audrey came home just to hang out ♥ I think flu shot appointments are more common this year. The bank is having the annual flu clinic later this month - but it's a day I don't usually go in - so I may call my PCP about getting one there instead. Sometimes they have a flu clinic in town - so may check on that too.
Hmmm, I know I used to "lounge" all day, but to seriously sleep the whole day? I don't think that's "normal". Yes... I don't even answer my phone anymore! If I don't know the number, I let it go to voicemail! My cell phone is good at detecting SPAM. I did log into the bank PC and nothing has tried to clear the store account - so hopefully we nipped it in the bud. Like I said - IF we had heard the whole story in the beginning we'd have been on alert sooner!
Karen: Sorry DH is kind of in the way this morning... but hey - bright side - you had time to chat with us instead!
O-M-Gosh... what a guy that Principal is!! WOW! I am so sorry that he has turned your teaching upside down. For sure - vent away.... get it off your chest - here - I would not trust him either. {{{hugs}}} Good luck to you ♥
Oh the orchard was OK... slight drizzle, kind of cold - but we got more apples than we need! LOL Ken will be peeling soon to get them in the freezer. Bob came along too - so the girls didn't actually pick many apples this year! LOL Tracy & I did most of it... they enjoyed the trailer ride down to the orchard, then we grabbed lunch and let them get a lollipop in the store. They went home seemingly happy! As for Eden's "fears"... no... Jaclyn (and Tim) have not done mush to deal with this - but her fears have seemed to mushroom over the past week. I mean Geeze, here Friday we went from being afraid to walk in the grass (possible ground bees) to being scared of the train - which is down the street, across the road, over the field, and across the river from here - but it was too loud. She had to come inside while it was going through! Then while we were in the hot tub - she was afraid of the dark... and it wasn't even dark yet - but getting dark! Then when I was taking her home - she wouldn't step out the door until I turned on the big spotlight... in case there was a bear in the yard! We have not had a bear sighting in our yard - or the huge field behind our house since before she was born! Then she wondered what that "noise" was... ummm, it was the car running in the driveway! OMG I gotta tell you - I was kinda glad she went home! I just don't know how to deal with it all!!
Now to be totally honest - I think it is her mother that is creating the issues. I mean Jaclyn won't go outside much, due to bugs. (ground bees) Jaclyn is also the one who keeps bringing up the bear we had ONE summer, back in like 2007? Maybe?? They keep their house shut up TIGHT, no windows ever opened - so never hear outside noises, but she has been here so many times - with all these same noises!
So - I am torn... while I want her to be comfortable here, I just don't know how to get her past her fears. Especially since she is here 1 night every few weeks. ??
Hopefully you got Tony moving so you can get your work done before church. Enjoy your day ♥
Christine: Sorry you feel lost - and out of the loop... hoping you can get here more often - we miss hearing how you are doing!
Like I said *above - Yes, I do believe Jaclyn is the biggest issue with Eden's irrational fears! One thing for sure - Zoë will always be "that kid"... she can have her moments as well - but she goes with the flow! My "opinion" is that by going to school, and all she has dealt with already, and the fact that her mother is so much more outgoing... she will just always be "different" than our overly protected and smothered Eden.
Oh yes, there will be applesauce made - no sugar added - and I usually freeze it in bags to pull out as we want. I also see apple crisp and pie in our future. I will send some home with everyone today!
Yes, game day here - we are doing a soup, stew, chowder day. I am doing my Beach Body IP Beef Stew. Tracy is doing a KETO Taco Soup, and my sister is bringing corn chowder. Not a very OP day - but will be mindful of portions and extra water/seltzer? Will try anyway. We apparently have to hope for a quick PATS game, because the SOX play at 4! Going to be a long day.
Good luck with your prepping for the week - {{{hugs}}} as you help Linds through her Grad school.
UGH! WTH is up with the Prince now?? He expects you to do this work before/after school? Oh I was so hoping with DL out of the picture he'd get a grip! Then ya' got Queen B... Yes let her B what she wanted to be - and let her & the Prince clean up the mess she leaves behind. I am surprised parents aren't complaining about her behavior. Oh but who would they report it to? The Prince?? Like that would go anywhere.
UGH I don't know how you & Karen deal with this every-single-day! I'd have been fired long ago!! I am sort of surprised at just how "honest" I can be with my boss - and not get fired over it. Your "bosses" would have me over the edge!
WOO HOO - not happy you are having surgery - but so glad you can get the week off to heal. You DO deserve to allow yourself what you need. Yes, I think you deserve to rest as you feel best - enjoy a trip to Fulton County, and get home to decide how best to complete your healing. ♥
Sue: We were cold and drizzle while picking apples, but when I got home - I was out with no sweatshirt - leaf blowing in the yard! It turned out to be a beautiful late afternoon! Hoping for the same today and tomorrow.
So sorry your friend is in the hospital... hoping she rebounds quickly. Glad Dutch Apple didn't disappoint.
We have been invited to go boating tomorrow - BRRRR - but a sunny fall day on the water, may be JUST what I need. These friends have been trying to get us out on the boat for YEARS - we just never seem to find the time. Let's face it our summers are pretty busy - on Sundays around here! I guess Ken and I will go - but truth be told, the whole family has been invited. His boat can hold /seat up to 15 people! Pretty sure Eden wouldn't be good to take right now... and one sister is working tomorrow - so I think this time will be just Ken & I... maybe next summer we can all take a Sunday and just go!
OK Time to get myself motivated to get ready for the family to arrive for football!
♥hugs♥

Good morning!
Yay for cool, sunny Sundays. Heading to the grocery store shortly then will do the usual laundry, cleaning, and work-work. It's all good. Yesterday was a great day. The run was a good temp and we did head in for the Oktoberfest. I am sad to say that the weinerdog races were super crowded and impossible to see, but I did get a few photos of contestants and they prepared to race--so cute. We met DS27 and my mom in town for the festival and all went to an early dinner at the end...a nice day. I am starting to get excited about next weekend when the yard project starts---I will be so glad to have that taken care of!
Karen: Thank you for starting us. I was shaking my head when you said that your principal was going to focus on last Spring's test results (we all know this was an exercise in compliance and not "real" information) but, when you described the conversation with him in the classroom, I was stunned. Did this question come from a religious place? Is your school a Christian-based school or a regular public school? I could not imagine why he would ask that question. I am sorry that your year has taken this turn and hope that you are able to just focus on kids next week--the real reason why you are there. Yes, the rain was an event around here! Only .25 inches but, when you have had zero for months, it is a major change! We all hope it is a sign of a wet winter. I hope that Tony wandered off to bed and you were able to get your things done before church....sounds like it would be a good start to your day!
Sue: Oh, I am so sorry to read about Jill and her situation! I do hope that she turns a corner soon. So glad that you got to see Mama Mia and enjoy that live performance though. Wow, so much going on at work! It must feel good to have Gloria by your side so that you can support one another. I wonder if you will see anything significant happen as a result this week?

Carole: Oh, I am so sorry to hear about Eden developing these fears! I am sad to say that I have seen the middle schoolers with parents who share their fears with them and the kids take it on. Sometimes, as a parent, we have to know when to filter what we say. I hope that it becomes apparent soon and that you see things change. Yum, your food for today sounds so good! I am planning soup for a couple of nights this week for sure---love the cooler weather. Yes, I remember how happy you were when your yard was done! Our project is much smaller than yours, but I am still excited about it DH wants to seed the lawn himself so I am having to wait on him for that. Hope that it can be done soon. Going on the boat sounds so fun--definitely one of those things that you are so happy you did afterward. Do you have tomorrow off? Oh wait, do you have a Columbus Day holiday? Here in CA, we do not celebrate Christopher Columbus --- we talk about how he hurt the indigenous people who lived here....we used to celebrate it though. I look forward to the day when things settle down and we can all look at it with fresh, well-informed eyes. I hope that you hav a great day today--enjoy the game with family and relax!
Christine: How great to see you! You did share that you would be having surgery but I don't recall you sharing the date--so glad that you can get it taken care of and GREAT idea to focus on COMPLETE healing by avoiding that toxic work environment. Wow to the anxiety there! I do have to say though, it is just so stressful with how much time all of the COVID protocols are taking! It is truly exhausting. Regarding the trip to Oak Island, some of us were looking at Airbnb and VRBO and then Karen shared that they had a realtor she uses and offered (offered up Tony, LOL) to look into it for us. Yep, Airbnb and VRBO will be the next option I think if the places won't allow for a shorter stay. I would think that they would need the business, but you never know! I am sorry about Linds....we all know though that a program like that takes a level of "I want it" and maybe she is not there? My mom has a soft spot for the Chargers too (my dad did as well) -- and they are pretty good this year! I hope that you have a good day and great start to your week.

Jenny: So glad that you had time with Audrey at home! I love hearing about your rain....ours was one night, .25 inches. But .25 is much better than zero so we are easily amused here in CA--sounds like you are doing much better than us in the rain department. Wow, I wonder if her roommate is not sleeping at night and Audrey is asleep and doesn't see it? Are they friends? I hope that she is okay. Only about a week until your MRI--yay! I hope that you have a wonderful Sunday!
Hello to all who follow. Time to finish my grocery list and get on my way. Hope that everyone has a wonderful day!

Got my blueberry pancakes and coffee so will keep catching up while enjoying my breakfast and waiting for Hannah to FT this morning!
Carole...about my only "fitness" on Friday was I did get all my dots!! I was busy since it was only Gloria and I but I managed to be pretty good with my water!! So all in all...not a bad day for me!! Glad you work days in the office are more "drama free" than before...blessing in disguise to working from home even PT. We see the ISS often here...not sure why...I wouldn't have hung out for the meteor shower either, especially with the 5/hour.....more waiting than watching!! Not my thing either!!
WOO HOO Gabrielle.....glad you finally got some rain!! Carole and I have been trying to send it your way but couldn't. Glad it's finally showing up on the west coast! So happy that some are finally seeing and recognizing all the hard work you have put in to support them and the department!! Nice to finally get that "nod"!! Sounds like the new building will be nice and doesn't seem like the move will impact commute or anything else much!! Wish I had a travel agent like Karen and Carole but that chore rests on my shoulders. We usually fly SW too but if we have to use another airlines we do...just not the "go to" at the Moul house. Even before Shea worked for SW, it was still our favorite...much easier to deal with if changes are needed, luggage issues, etc!! Sounds like perfect timing of your next 1/2 marathon since Ed will be gone anyway!! How fun to run with some old running friends!!
Karen...thanks for starting us off yesterday!! LOL, yes, we have been well aware you principal is a putz!! Glad his stupidity didn't derail your eating plans. Sounds like a crazy week...we have confidence that you will handle the call to Margaret Rudd and get us a nice place to stay!! Seems many of us had a dry start to the summer but then once the rains arrived, we caught up!! Glad you are not minding the rain...will say Jason is getting a bit cranky!!! OK... A LOT CRANKY!!! He is trying to get the 4 rows of sweet potatoes out before the end of the month but the weather is NOT cooperating. Hope the rains soon give us a break!! One good thing is that our temps are about 10-15 degrees above normal so it's a little extra "stretch of summer" for us!! We are still looking at mostly green foliage....we expect the color to be peak the last week in October but not sure! Jason usually "mows" the last batch of leaves off the yard the 1st week in December!!
LOL Gabrielle...have to chuckle at you being "giddy" about the rain...sounds like perfect timing with the wind event coming...hopefully it was enough rain to help!! Fingers crossed the power shutoffs don't have to hit your area!! Hope your Friday was indeed a work-work-less day!!
Carole...the current "fear issue" with Eden makes me sad!! In my opinion, it comes from Jaclyn primarily!! She has always seemed to be an abnormally nervous, fearful, smothering, overprotective kind of "helicopter mom" and actually stifles Eden and her growth!!
OK ...hannah just called...be back later!

Well...air is moving and it seems things are starting to dry off a bit...Jason is happy about that!! Had a fun chat with Hannah's gang!! Kale was very appreciative of his gifts...he loved the subscription to "Puzzlemania"...so glad it finally arrived in time for his birthday. It is actually a combined gift for the boys...there were 2 books that came so Hannah wrapped one for Kale and one for Rowan!! Rowan said "thanks grandma" and when I asked why he was getting presents since it wasn't his birthday yet he said "well, you gave it to both of us...if you don't want me to get it early then you have to give it only to me"!! That kid cracks me up!!
Carole...will say Zoe is wise beyond her years....her question and confusion with Eden's behavior made me smile!! Glad Tracy picked her up for apple picking but had to chuckle when I saw the orchard pictures!! You do always seem to choose the "less than perfect" days for apple picking!!
Carole/Gabrielle...we don't have Octoberfest here either but we do have several Apple Harvest festivals over several weekend that have vendors, lots of "apple stuff", etc. We also had "Snack Town Festival" a couple weeks ago here in Hanover....also with local breweries, wineries, vendors, all the snack places too....remember, Hanover area is the "snack capital of the world" with Utz, Snyder's, Wege, Revonah, etc...we have plenty of snack companies here in Hanover, heck, I drive past 3 of them on my way to work every day!!! You want/need snacks...we got 'em!!
WOW Carole...what a fiasco with the ROBO call at the store!! Glad you & Ken got it figured out and hopefully stopped everything before any money was exchanged. They had a great segment on the local news the other night about ROBO calls...it was Brian Roche, I think he's just local but it was very informative!! According to the news report, much of the information they start with is publicly available but it's the little details that they don't know so hope that whoever is on the phone falls for the scam out of fear! Which seems like exactly what happened with the employee. I hope he doesn't have to open all new accounts, checks, etc but best to be safe!! I'm sure he's ready to get rid of all the headaches and thinking retirement!! I know Jason had days like that...heck with Tonya's antics so do I!!
Jenny...glad you got to have some more time with Audrey. Yes, does seem odd that one of the roommates sleeps all day??? Depression??? Something else?? Who knows but doesn't seem normal too me!! I'm thinking that you, like Gabrielle, need the rain right now?? Right?? A lot of places are requiring appointments too for flu shots...guess with the uptick in COVID cases still they are trying to keep the crowds to a minimum!! Yes Jenny...that is exactly what the Brian Roche segment on our news was about. I keep getting texts, emails, etc about refunds, payments, etc and they are just phishing scams. When you call they want more info and want you to go to the computer so they can link it somehow and get the info. Brian Roche said that once they know your system type, Windows vs MAC they can get in and steal your info. His report he was actually on the phone with a scammer and this guy was slick and could easily scare the begeebers out someone. It's crazy!! Heck, just this morning I got a text that someone sent me $700 and I needed to call with more info so it could be deposited...REALLY?? I did NOT just fall off a turnip truck!!! Delete/block caller...done!!
Karen...aren't you sweet to let Tony sleep but glad you got to pop in and start us off!! WOW...just WOW!! That's all I've got regarding the principal and the data that was wrong!! Makes me wonder where he got this info in the first place. If you are aware the data was skewed, why would he be spreading false data?? Talk about stepping WAY over professional boundaries...sounds to me like you could get his caboose fired if you wanted to!!! That was harassment at it's best!! Yup, go to the superintendent....not a problem...get the truth out in the open!! WOW...he is a piece of work!!! YIKES!! He knows he stepped way out line...hence his current "suck up" mode!! Good idea to NOT do anything with him alone or out of school hours....stand strong on that one!!
Hi Christine....crazy week, eh??
Well yesterday...let's see...we had a plan to head to the lab by 9:00am for the Multiphasic, then go to breakfast, then to Jackson's game...we took 2 cars since the lab is the next street over from the lot...we planned to leave Jason's car there, go to breakfast/game then I would drop Jason back off and head home while he worked at the lot. Well....when we got to the medical center they said the lab was a 1/2 hour to hour wait...well, we knew Saturdays would be busy and hoped for closer to the 1/2 hour...well almost an hour and a half we FINALLY got taken back for the lab work!! Come to find out that thanks to COVID, vaccine mandates, etc several other lab locations have been closed to to staffing issues and this one is the only one open on Saturdays. She said it was just as bad during the week even though there are more techs working!! I felt so bad for the lab tech...she was run ragged and is so frustrated with the fact that people don't want to work, etc. She even mentioned that mandates are not something new in hospitals/medical centers....there are several other mandates for employment every year but this COVID thing is just crazy!!! She commented that people are medical professionals, watching people die and suffer from this virus yet they say "I haven't gotten yet so it's not that big a deal"! She was just baffled...
So needless to say we went to breakfast because we had been fasting over 12 hours at that point and were very hungry so we missed Jackson's game. I came home and puttered, Jason spent the afternoon at the lot and then we headed in for the "game under the lights" for Kellen at 6:30pm...got home about 10:00pm and were beat!! Jackson did run out to the lot to fill Grandpa in on his great game and he told me that he "almost got a touchdown" but some kid knocked him out of bounds right before the end zone!! So fun to see his excitement!! While Kellen's team lost again, last night they did have pretty good game....we were all actually wondering if they were the same players! LOL!!!

LOL Christine...I always laugh at the game, football, baseball, I think all professional games all start at 4:05, 9:10, etc...what does the 5-10 minutes do?? The RedSox start today at 4:07pm!! Hopefully you will get that last contract report done today!! I can't imagine the juggling of work at this point. I know COVID in schools is just a hassle with the quarantining, close contact, virtual learning...we all thought last year was bad but I'm thinking that this year, at least to start is worse because everyone is back in school full time and they don't want to go virtual so it's creating more work and creative thinking when the cases do arise!! I know around here they are trying to limit virtual to classrooms with outbreaks as opposed to closing the entire school. Has to be a nightmare for educators!!
WOW, the Prince is still a PITA!! Since when have you EVER not been a team player??? I think Queen B is regretting her promotion and is realizing she is WAY over head and incapable of doing the job!! She will never admit it but her behavior says it all!! Yes, steer clear of situations that are not yours...autism is NOT a psychiatric issue...behavior support plans are the only way to help those kids and teachers, parents, support staff...EVERYONE needs to be on the same page and follow through with what was developed!!
YAY Christine for getting the hernia surgery scheduled!! OMG, I'm rolling at your interaction with the Prince regarding time off and the fact that it's none of his business!! Glad you didn't push the issue and you can plan some time in Fulton County while off!! I know when dad had his hernia surgery, he was only down for a couple days but hey, milk it for all you can! You have the time...use it!! Yes, working with staff, parents and students that appreciate what you have to offer them. I'm sure you will indeed need a few more days to "rest"....WINK, WINK!!!
Carole...we had our flu shot clinic last week for employees only but Jason just popped in after work at our PCP for his!! Hopefully you can do that too so you don't have to head into work on an "at home" day!! Sounds like Bob and the girls have some fun together...I'm glad he continues to be part of the "family" fun!!! Question....do you slice all the apples for pies this time of year or do you do them for applesauce. I'm thinking that they would be too mushy for pies after being frozen?? I know we will make and freezer applesauce but we have never frozen apples. We actually keep them in basement with the potatoes, sweet potatoes, squash, etc and they keep for many months just perfectly!!
Makes me sad about Eden's fears....I'm thinking that it fostered by Jaclyn but not sure why....why would you want your child to be afraid...heck, when my girls were little, I hated bugs, spiders and bees but since many are good for the garden I had to let them know they that bugs are here for reason and will not hurt you. We actually had a fire in our house and we help the girls work through the "go to a safe place in the yard" and don't go back in....we were in a car accident when they were young....thankfully no one was hurt but we got back in a car to show that these things are scary at the time but can all be handled safely!! I do think that Eden being home schooled and going to church with many of the same families, she is sheltered and "out of touch" with the real world in many ways....while Zoe, she is out in the world, actually learning about and dealing with life and the world around her! Hopefully this irrational fear thing will pass.
LOL Carole...Pats are at halftime now so hopefully they will be done by the time the Sox start!! Your menu for the day sounds yummy....the KETO and BB Beef Stew should be decent choices today....portion control is the key and hopefully the snacking on other stuff will be minimal!! I know you can manage just fine!! Your boating day tomorrow sounds like fun...just have an extra layer if you need one!! I think a "Ken & Carole Day" is a great idea!!
Gabrielle...not sure what will happen with Tonya this week but Gloria is fired up and she is ready to confront Tonya if she makes one negative comment. Mark told us he would talk to her and he knows were are both at our wits end with her antics!! Hopefully things will change but we also know that when Tonya is "not in control" she is MISERABLE, HATEFUL, SPITEFUL AND A DOWN RIGHT B!TCH!! Could be a long few days!!
OK...been hanging out long enough...got some laundry and dishes I need to tackle!!
Waves...Jo, Jenny, Lisa, Shelly and anyone else I might have missed....hope all are having a nice Simple Sunday!!!
