Good morning WW friends. Slept well and grateful. Today shall be a DOR! My back feels much better but Sunday I take off. Nothing resembling a household chore will get done
Carl will be busy getting the lawn tractor put away for next year and bringing the snow blower out for the next season. That's not work for him as he enjoys doing it!
Seeing as it's Sunday we shall have meat sauce pasta and garlic bread. Also have the fixings for a salad that I'll throw together.
Other than walking Benjamin there isn't a thing on my agenda. I did strip the bed and sheets are washing.
I plan on getting reading done.
Waving and shall CBL

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Sunday! Though it is a mild 64 dg, it is very cloudy (can you say GREY"?) It even rained a little earlier this morning. Oh well, it is Fall..... We have the promise of some warmer days this week.
I slept very well despite dreaming, but they were pleasant (what I recall of them). I woke at the usual time and got right up. I'm afraid that too many days of sleeping in will mess with my internal clock.
We are going to meet DBIL for lunch today. I had a fruit bowl (used up the last) and a HB egg for breakfast. I will eat my only real meal for lunch today. Last week I ended up bringing home half of it and eating it for supper. Today I have salad with steak already in the fridge. Plus, I overindulged a bit yesterday and need to rein it back in.
Last night we watched "Coming To America" which is one of DH's favorite movies. I had never seen it and he wanted to share it with me so he watched it again. It provided a light evening's entertainment. That may be what contributed to my good night's sleep.
I have stripped and remade our bed, with the old sheets in the washer; and after I empty the dishwasher, my chores are done for today. Laundry is all caught up. My energy level is returning to normal. I walked both Friday and Saturday and if it stops raining long enough I plan to walk today. Skipping both Fitness classes this past week took a toll on my weight and well-being.
I need to grocery shop, so I am deciding between going this morning and going tomorrow after school. But I'm really leaning toward tomorrow. Tuesday I have a Fitness class before school, then a dental appointment (for a cleaning) after school. That will make for a long day. Speaking of which, we have been hearing a lot on the news about how many people put off their routine medical care due to the pandemic; and we were patting ourselves on the back because we did not. We got everything done, including a couple we had been putting off (like eye exams) and I recently had my mammogram. So we are completely up-to-date.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Good Sunday to you all!
I have been to Mass and enjoyed a breakfast of Carrot Cake OO and an applesauce/banana muffin to quiet my noisy stomach growls. Soon I will head out to the garden. I have just about managed to get enough weeds pulled that I can till the soil and then plant garlic and green onions for DH. It's not my thing, but a labor of love for the man I love.
Due to DH's medical appointments and Debbie having family from out of town visiting, we haven't walked since Wednesday, but I feel like I have burned enough calories in the garden to count. The scale supports me in that I was right on goal this morning. I have tracked most days this week and gotten my late night snacking under control again.
Yesterday, we spent several hours with a rep from a solar energy company exploring the possibility of going completely solar, as well as having an alternative to electricity for hurricanes and other power outages. DH had done considerable research and felt that we could afford it, even though it would be very expensive. However, the prices this guy quoted would put it completely out of range for us, so "back to the drawing board". Alternate power is high on our priority list. If Hurricane Ida had continued on the projected path and not taken a turn to the east, we might have been without power for 20 days or more, as were those that got a direct hit.
For my lunches the past couple days, I have enjoyed some turkey-sausage gumbo from the freezer. Dinner tonight will be venison stew (a neighbor graciously supplied us with some meat after we shared fresh sweet corn in the spring), brown rice, smothered okra and corn.
Judy - I will look forward to drinks on your beautiful deck someday! When my bunion was at it's worst, I found Aravon shoes very comfortable, if not terribly stylish. New Balance used to carry them in their stores, but I'm not sure they still do. You can certainly find them online. They are expensive, but I am still wearing my Candace sandals and slip-ons after 10 years, so they are excellent quality.
Ann - Enjoy your DOR! I hope to squeeze in some rest after garden duty is accomplished.
Sue - I can't believe you had never seen "Coming to America"! Such a cute movie and I love a happy ending. I'm glad you are getting your energy back to a normal level.
Time to hit the garden before it gets any hotter!

Hi All ~
Ann ~ I used some of your good advice today. I went ahead and went to Meijer and satisfied my growing list there. They had some canned pumpkin as well as evaporated fat-free milk, both of which I need for my (WW) Crustless Pumpkin Pie. When you mentioned stocking up for holidays, I realized I didn't want to come up short at the last minute. Now I am well stocked on both.
Pam ~ Good to hear from you!! I am so glad things are going well with you. Hopefully you'll be able to get a more agreeable quote elsewhere on the solar power.
Judy ~ I hope your day is sailing along. I know you are busy, and can't wait to hear from you.
Headed out to lunch .....

Sue happy you enjoyed that movie. Carl and I have seen it several times. So upbeat and happy. I may see if I have a copy laying around and revisit it Thanks for that happy reminder! Nice that you are all 'up to date' with your medical appointments. We are as well and didn't miss any at all. We have a few this month to get done and I know that my PCP will be scheduling a colonoscopy for me and perhaps Carl. Not a favorite of mine but a necessity as my mom passed from colon cancer 1/1/1985. Also happy to hear that you are getting your energy back. Don't blame you for pushing grocery shopping off if you are not in the mood to go. Hope you find a more reasonable price for solar. That would eliminate a lot of problems for you. I can't even imagine being without power for that long a period of time! My heart goes out to those that endure that disaster! Pam you are a great wife....love the 'labor of love for the man you love'. I hope it's still cool enough for you to get R done. yeah to being right on goal with the missed walking. You cram a lot in a day so no worries of getting exercise in. Me? The only thing that I DO DO is walk and CLEAN. I enjoy both which doesn't make it work for me. Your meals sound tasty and healthy. My breakfast and lunch are one and done. Have the meat sauce bubbling away in the crock pot and Carl is outdoors doing his thing. In a bit I shall take Benjamin for a very short walk in back of the house and down what I call the 'bunny path' LOL. He loves romping around there and it's easy for me to walk on. Judy...waiving and hoping all is well with you and DH. Waving

suewms, wow Sue...you done did it Glad you are now all stocked up. I too love that pumpkin pie from WW. We may hit Hannaford's later today as Carl just ran out of milk. He is a milk drinker and has it with his lunch and in the morning with his oatmeal. Me? I don't touch the stuff LOL. I do want to get some butternut squash to go with our chicken breast that we will have for supper tomorrow. Also green grapes.......

Well, lots of sweat and several fire ant bites later, the garden job is done. I will plant tomorrow morning before we head to wound care. This afternoon, I will start the venison stew so it can simmer in the crockpot and probably get a head start on laundry. Other than that, I will enjoy some of the new book I started, The Woman Who Heard Color by Kelly Jones. So far, it is very good--about a woman who recovers art stolen during the Nazi years in Germany.
Enjoy your Sunday!

Sorry for your bites Pam. Good job getting the weeding done. Hope no bites happen when planting.
Enjoy the stew and your book.
Outside of a few more Benjamin walks my afternoon is very laid back. Just the way I like a Sunday to be.

We are just back from lunch with DBIL. We all three had the same thing (Wet Burrito) which was filled with meat, rice, beans and covered with chili and queso. I chose it first and then both the guys jumped on my bandwagon! <LOL> We all enjoyed it very much.
I am home and emptied the dishwasher and folded the clean sheets and put them in the linen closet. I think I can safely say I am DONE! I am so glad to feel like myself again! Words cannot tell you....
I am going to go sit for a while and then go for a walk (while DH goes to Kroger). BBL.

My other great find for today was a box of Burt's Bees lip balm. Recently I found a tube of Burt's Bees at a sale price at Meijer and bought it. It has worked well for my lips. Then while out to lunch with GFs recently I noticed one of them applying some and asked about it. She said she wouldn't be without it, that she keeps one in her purse, one in her bathroom, one in her bedside stand drawer, etc. I had the one I bought in my bathroom and I swear the spot on my bottom lip that was chronically chapped and peeled (and bled then started over) was beginning to heal. Today I looked in Meijer and found ONE box of four tubes that were clearance priced down to $2+. YIKES! I bought it and put one in every place I could use them. I consider it quite a find!! Doesn't take much to delight me, does it??

Sue - I like the Burt's Bee lip balm. Blistex Moisture Revitalizer is another good one. My favorite is the Carmex Moisturizer Plus Ultra Hydrating, but I think they stopped making it, because the price for the tinted version has skyrocketed on Amazon.
