This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
All are welcome here.

Hello Everyone... I am dragging drinking this awful stuff for my procedure tomorrow, so this will be short.
I am sure everyone is having a better than me - sure hope so at least - lol!
Janet - I like the idea of you becoming more specialized and working with one student at a time. I think you could develop a special closeness and also feel like you were helping more also, but it also sounds like it could take a lot of training when you are close to retirement also. Good luck whatever you decide.
Robin - oh when you mentioned the lilac bloom, I could just see and smell it. I love lilacs and sooooo miss the ones I used to have! Hope all goes well at your interview
Lora - enjoy the games Jana - hope the fridge is stocked and you are enjoying your company Jill - make some more candy today - yum
Waving to everyone....

Hello everyone, Lora.......when I posted that, I thought "whew, hope I didn't jinx something". My sincerest apologies for any bad mojo I may have contributed to! I hate that the game went that way. Susie, I hope you get through today and get tomorrow over with! I had to have 3 in one year recently, but thank goodness I had that first one. I have been doing laundry but so far not much else around here! My plumber came by to change out the elements on my water heater.....do you guys remember him from a long time ago? When he showed up at the same time 2 other guys came by!? Same guy. We have been friends forever now, and he is still my plumber. He changed my tub to a walk in shower when Mom came to live with me. He got married a few years ago, but he still gives me a great price I talked to ODD today and she strengthened my resolve to go to the interview. I keep trying to talk myself out of it, but I feel like there was some serendipity in this and I just want to see what the pay and the hours would be. Its not like I don't have a job, I just know that my office would stab me in the back in a heartbeat so no matter what they tell me NOW in regard to my job future, I know better. I can certainly stay for the moment, if I don't like what I hear tomorrow. To be continued.... I am making myself a taco salad bowl for early dinner. I made the beef yesterday, and it just sounds so light and flavorful. Other than that, I am just going to relax for the evening and watch some football. I should probably pick out clothes for tomorrow, too. I hope everyone has been having a great weekend! Waving to all, and I'll be back tomorrow..... RobinMD

Hi Everyone,
Just got home from running around doing erands. I decided to buy the ingredients to make meatloaf which I havent had in some time. I almost forgot to buy an onion. I dont usually keep onions around as I wouldnt use except for making something occaisionally.
I ended up going back to Target ( same area). I was going to look at their vitamins at the grocery store which is usually stocked near the pharmacy. I thought maybe they relocated the pharmacy elsewhere in the store but I asked someone and they said that CVS bought them out. So went back to Target to get the bottle and a bottle of dillweed that I saw on sale but somehow I must have picked up a different spice so didnt feel like getting out of line. I was waiting for this other lady to get done as she was arguing about an item. The line opened up and the guy says to go to the register and the item isnt showing so he does something and rings only 5.00 total. I dont know if he realizes that I had two items but I paid what it said and no alarm went off when I left so got the vitamins for really almost nothing. The spice was supposed to be on sale tho but since I got the vitamins for almost nothing I am not complaining.
Susie, I hope that the prep isnt horrible. I wish they would make it easier as I dont tolerate it well at all. I am supposed to get it done every 3 years. I think as it would be very hard to prep at work I might delay it until the summer when I have off or have to take pto for 2 days. Since I dont get much pto during the year and I already took 2 unplanned days when I was sick I may wait until then. I think I will start reading a new book maybe that my friend gave me.
I may have forgot to tell you about this new staff member that started about a week or so I dont really care for. The first day when our director brought her around to introduce I was by myself that day and she came in and out of the room so fast that I didnt even say hi. The next morning I said hello to her while we were waiting for the kids to come in. She said nothing. Some of my kids still cry when they seperate from their parents and she made some comment about whether I comforted them..no! Of course I don't comfort them..what kind of teacher wouldnt comfort them? Stupid comment. Unfortunately, she isnt in the downstairs class where I wouldnt see her too much.
Have a good day!

Hello and happy Sunday! Or at least "hope you hold your cheeks together Sunday" for Susie.
Susie - soon you'll be empty and then it will just be a matter of getting the procedure completed. Fingers crossed!
Robin - You didn't contribute to the bad mojo. Lol. Somebody has to win and somebody has to lose, and it was just our time. You can't win them all. There were just too many things not clicking right on our side and it all caught up. I mean, it was our first loss since 2019, how can I really be mad at that? Mark always says the best time to look for a job is when you already have one. That way you don't feel like you have to accept an offer you're not totally pleased with. I agree with DD...go to the interview. It won't hurt a thing to hear what they have to say.
Janet - how interesting that could be just focusing on a single child. It sounds like it could be intense, but I'm sure very rewarding. Give it some serious thought, investigate all of the requirements and keep us in the loop. We're all rooting for you.
We did a short hike this morning over in the state park where we found CC. I'm happy to report that we did not bring home or even see any more foundlings. Lol. We got in right at 3 miles, so not too bad considering how long it's been since we hiked. I remembered that when we were hiking every weekend in ATL that I was wearing those patella tendon knee straps and they helped so much with my post hike achy knees. So anyway, I dug those out yesterday and used them today. So far, so good. IDK why in the world I would have forgotten about them, but they could be a game changer for me. So hoping that I see a difference with them. If it seems like they're helping, it would sure make getting active on the trails a whole lot more attractive.
Well, not much else happening around here. Believe it or not, Tuesday is DHs last day with his current company, then next Monday he starts with the new one. That 2 week notice really seemed to go by quickly. Tomorrow he has a morning meeting with the current bosses, then goes over to the new office for a brief orientation, a little more paperwork and fingerprinting for his security clearance. Other than that, all is quiet here. Lol

Oh Susie, I am sorry you have to go through the yuckiness of today. Hopefully by now, you are mostly through it. RobinMD, glad ODD talked you into going through with the interview. Doesn't hurt to find out more, right? Oh, yum! Taco salad is wonderful. Janet, my DD is an ABA therapist for autistic children and absolutely loves it!! Oh dear, sorry about your new colleague. That's not a great way for her to make a good impression. Lora, it's nice you got a hike in at CC's old stomping grounds. I've never heard of knee straps, but so glad they help. Gosh, the last bit of time for Mark really went by quickly! I am enjoying a nice chill day at home. I am NOT doing a bit of work today. Tomorrow we don't have school, so I'll work tomorrow. I did get my haircut this afternoon, which desperately needed it. I am watching British Baking Show episodes, so I am just really taking it easy. Lora, you might enjoy this story YDS shared with me today. He is an information guy in the box rooms at NFL games for his college "job." Today there was a lady at the Bucs game with about 5 kids and a woman that looked to be the kids' grandma. He said they were quite a handful the entire game, and he felt a bit sorry for the mom. But, he enjoyed them...every time there was a good play they'd run over to him for a high five and such. Well, towards the end of the game on the TV, one of the kids said "look mom, Dad is on TV." It was a star player's family, and YDS had no idea. Kind of cool. He had a good day. Waving hi to everyone!

Jill, how did your daughter train to be a ABA therapist? I assume she had to have had some special course/s to work with Autistic children. I have a friend I have to ask who is retired but I know that she had training and worked with young children which would be still the group I'd prefer since that is my experience.
