Gabrielle 1. Wellness--take steps each day to address better wellness (moving, attention to my eating, getting sleep, etc. 2. Debt-- continue to take steps to eliminate debt (including the kids college debt that we are covering) so that I have no debt when I retire 3. Connectedness-- each month have a plan to stay connected to those who I care about (maybe dinner once/month after COVID, Zoom, phone calls, etc. 4. Christine: I often feel out of the loop and lost ... but I'm trying to be better about checking in. I miss knowing what's going on with all of you ladies... I'm doing better... well... I'm trying. I considered contacting HR immediately about the principal, but that makes me uncomfortable... I need time to process. I agree with all of your thoughts about the Data... he's just unbelievable. I don't blame you for taking the time you need ... even if it isn't all for physical healing. The emotional stuff is so important too!
Tony is going to make some phone calls for me to Oak Island today (I'll remind him again...) He does this stuff for our family and I like having a travel agent!
Sue: The pneumonia is very common this year even with my students. It has been a hard fall for sure! I am thinking positive thoughts that Jill will round that corner! Mamma Mia is an AWESOME show. Glad you got to see it! What a mess at work! I hope that letting the cat out of the bag makes things better for you!
Carole: It makes me sad that Eden is going through whatever she is going through. It really sounds to me like she needs some help to sort out realistic vs. unrealistic issues. Sad. I see so many kids these days with diagnosed anxiety.
Gabrielle: I am in a public school... just in the Bible Belt. It is a different place, for sure! I think he asked that question about love because he is so very insecure and "job scared"... and really, shouldn't he be? (A principal in the high school we feed to was just moved to an assistant principal position at our rival school... pretty humbling... hence the "back peddling" of my principal...)
Jenny: How are you feeling after your flu shots? Some folks do well... others struggle.
So ladies, I'm awake and needing to head to the shower... I'm going to be "Making It" through the day holding my head up high and doing my job in spite of stupidity of our leadership. The only thing that really matters are the kiddos... so that is what I do, take care of my kiddos.

Good morning!
A cool (43 degree) dry morning here in CA....it is not looking like rain will be with us again for a while. I have a few friends running the Boston Marathon today---it looks like it has rained and hoping for a nice, cool day for them today. The Chicago Marathon was yesterday and it was warm and humid. Yesterday was a nice day for me---we did take the time to go for a drive in the afternoon--and it was perfect Fall weather. I usually make myself turn down things like that on Sundays (too much to do --- at least I FIND too much to do). Glad that DH and I had that time together.
Karen: Thanks for starting us off today and glad that you have your kids! Really, through the whole COVID thing I have been grateful that, as hard as it is, I am doing something to help other people during some pretty challenging times. As a teacher, I hope you recognize how important you are! Thanks to Tony again for exploring the housing in Oak Island. Wow, I am sorry to hear that there is that much job anxiety for your principal...such an odd reaction though! Hope that you have a good day today.
Jenny: Hey, I STILL would love to help my boys with their laundry and they are 22 and 27! I am so glad that you had some Audrey time Yay for a 4-day week too! I think that your MRI is next week, right? I hope that the flu shot went fine--we didn't have any kind of reaction. Hope that today is a good day for you.
Sue: Wow, what a long line at the lab! I do feel for that lab tech--and how frustrating to have coworkers that are causing the work to be so stressful. Poor thing! Glad that you had your Hannah and the Boys time and that, since you weren't at the game, Jason could have a visit at the lot and the chance to hear first hand how it all went down. I do hope that things are "handled" with Tonya---it sounds like it has really caused some bad feelings in the workplace--time to clean it all up! Good job getting your water-drinking plan set up! Thanks for the photo-reminder!

Well, I got my TM run in this morning and I need to get moving...early meetings today and tomorrow. Glad that I took the time to carefully plan out my week last night though--you all know how I just feel better starting the week that way.
Oh, Carole: I totally forgot to mention the HUGE issue with the guy calling about cutting off the power! SO, SO glad that you stepped in! We know that, with your experience at the bank handling all of the fraud issues, you would be the voice of reason. It makes me so mad that people like that consume so much of other peoples' time and energy.....I just want them to get caught.
Okay, time to get moving. Hope that you all have a wonderful day!

Good Morning MAKIN' IT MONDAY ☼ Looking forward to a warmer - sunnier day here... and I guess we are going boating! It's not like I don't have things I should be doing her - but... these friends have been inviting us for 2 years and we never find the time. Today is the time! I am a little anxious about it - lot's of "little things", including after we accepted the invitation - we found out, there will also be other people there... not sure who. It will be fine - I know it will.
Meanwhile - yesterday was a pretty good day - long - but good. The good news is, there are no leftovers! LOL For once we had enough to feed everyone - without having so many leftovers. Except dessert... as usual my DS brought too much! UGH! I sent most of it home with her... but we still have stuff here I will most likely throw out! It was "weird" Tracy went up to sleep at 6 PM, because she had to work at 11. Bob stayed and watched the 2nd game with Ken & Tim. I am glad he is comfortable enough to stay without Tracy.
My Sunday was pretty Simple overall ♥ I also like that when we do pot luck type days - everyone takes dirty dishes home too! LOL
Sue: LOL I will NOT be getting my water today! Not with being out on a boat with no restrooms available! Yes, I am usually OK with my water/liquids, because I do usually get my 2-3 mugs of tea each day.
Hmm, not sure about a different airport - but I think I like NOT flying SW this time! After hearing of another weekend of cancelled flights - due to weather? While NO OTHER AIRLINE cancelled any flights?? They also used the excuse air-traffic control staffing... FFA says that's not true... feeling pretty skeptical of SW these days. I feel bad that you can't come to NC until Saturday. Yes that is a lot of driving... let's see once we figure out the logistics - about you flying into Wilmington, less of a drive, and we can see about coming to pick you up! Then if we all fly OUT around the same time - the trip back we will all just go together!
Oh - sorry forgot to share - the painter is not available until after the first of the year - she is booked solid! I like winter cardinals too. Yes - it's interesting the very first cardinal I have ever seen in our yard was on our anniversary - after Matt passed. I see them once on a while now... and always can pick "who" it is, depending on my feelings or what day it is.
I was feeling pretty "down" one day last week - but when I went out for my lap around the yard - there was my rosebush... a gift when he died... blooming again. ♥
YAY for being able to use your 2019 Christmas Gifts!
Oh my... Tonya really does take the cake! can she clock in from home? Or was she really in before 6 AM? WOW, she even checks emails from home? Does she not have a life at home?? LOL Glad paychecks arrived while you two were still reeling from it all! LOL Mark really got an earful! Let's hope he follows through.
Gabrielle: YAY for a cooler day for you to get your chores done, and work-work... and I don't blame you - I was like a kid on Christmas morning - watching my landscaping get done! Hundreds of pictures - I am sure the guys doing the work, were sick of me by the end of the job. Aww, sorry the races were too crowded, but glad you and Ds27 and DM had a nice outing.
The bank calls today Columbus Day and Day of Indigenous People Day... we cover both sides of the historic day!
Oh this new "fear" thing with Eden also worries me about the whole autism/spectrum thing. I know I am not using the correct terminology... but apparently sounds trigger her fears. Yesterday the crockpot "beeped" several times - indicating it was shutting off - and she freaked out! She was afraid it was a smoke/fire detector!
So far - so good with the store/accounts etc. I think when Ken mentioned the police, they lost interest. We will monitor the account - and tomorrow Ken will go open a savings account... move most of the money there, and for now - they will transfer over what they need each day to cover only checks written.
We peel and slice the apples, and freeze them in gallon bags. One gallon bag makes 1 pie. Yeah, they get a little mushy - but when baked in a pie they are soft anyway - so no one notices/cares. I especially like them in apple crisp! But they can also be used for apple cinnamon muffins-cookies-whatever. I am so leery about storing any veggies in our basement. Between the cold - the dampness and the (possible) mice... I worry I wouldn't have anything left when I am ready to use it! Not to mention I do not want to "invite" mice into my house!
I am so worried about just how this is affecting Eden. I am not sure (any more) that it is all from Jaclyn. But I have asked about her behavior issues before - and got shut down... so I need to just let it go.
LOL we went from PATS to COWBOYS... Bob is a Cowboy fan!

Jenny: Yes, many of the apples will be frozen for pies... we also make/freeze applesauce, and we do enjoy apple crisp! Next Sunday - football day - we will have pulled pork and apple crisp for dessert!
I don't know WHY anyone still talks about the darned bears! Like I said we watched one in the field - not even our yard, ONE DAY... there was one day when Ken had to keep our dog from fighting the Mamma bear - over our fence. It was kind of cute - the cubs were up in the tree and mamma was reaching over the fence for our barking dog! Anyway - we literally watched the bear and followed it, to watch it go all around the field and then through the neighbor's yard and down to the brook.
I think it's sweet that you helped Audrey with her laundry. I still do most of Tracy's - some days I don't mind, some days I wonder WHY I am doing it! LOL
Lucky you - another long weekend next week?
Karen: Thanks for starting us off again today...I slept in until about 7, then back and forth with our friend Jeff about boating.
I agree... and I will mention (again) that my concern about Eden is not just me feeling sorry for myself - that she doesn't want to come here. I truly am concerned. Yes, take care of your kiddos - and good luck with your Principal... I don't trust him either!
Sue: Hope your water efforts pay off!
Gabrielle: WOW Down to 34 degrees? What a change for you. Should be up to 70s for the marathon... but maybe overcast? It's still overcast here... but "up to" 59!
So glad Dh was with you yesterday. I didn't realize he was joining you at the festival. Were you in "THE CAR"??
Yes - so glad you have a schedule/plan for the week ahead.
OK So I need to get moving here myself. Still no confirmation of what time we will be heading to the boat. Who knows, maybe it will get cancelled if not enough friends want to go? Pretty big boat for just 4 of us... we'll see.
Meanwhile I will get a few things done, since by the time we get home it will be about time to head upstairs! After boating we will stop at Tractor Supply and get our pellets. LOTS of activity there!! Loading and unloading - and carrying those 40# bags!
♥hugs♥

Evening all...well actually it's still late afternoon but when I get home from work, it's evening in my world! LOL!! Well, no real fireworks from Tonya but she flat out lied AGAIN saying that she did the email on Wednesday afternoon and that she did NOT delete anything. Well, when Gloria said the time stamp on the email was 6:18am on 10/7/21 and we found the original emails and sent emails in the deleted folder in Barracuda she got very quiet and didn't say a word....she knew we had her caught in a lie!! She was reasonably productive today but her mouth ran non stop and most of the time she was turned around in her chair talking to the side of my head and the back of Gloria's...she just doesn't get the message!! UGH!!
Got home, got a baked potato in the air fryer, broccoli ready to steam in the microwave and lunch already started for tomorrow. Breakfast is prepped and ready in the fridge. Yes....I'm getting organized tonight because I got the OT handwork email about 3:00pm. Hopefully will only be one day but it is what it is.... but for now, time to catch up...
Jenny....just saw you popped in yesterday after I did!! We actually hit a 2nd page for the first time in a long time!! I'm with you, I'd find it hard not to giggle at Queen B too!! EXACTLY Jenny....Tonya is definitely trying to set both of us to to fail and look incapable of doing our jobs. Her self-worth unfortunately is based on other people looking stupid and that she will come in and "save the day"!! She is threatened by Gloria and I being able to actually handle her job. Enjoy your 4 day work week...jealous!! LOL!!
Karen...thanks for starting us off this morning...I was a bit disorganized this morning!! When I don't get thing organized on Sunday evening, Monday mornings are chaotic since everything is not in the same place as they are once the work week starts!! Finger crossed Tony finds out something about NC in the spring.... Yes, they are saying that flu and pneumonia will be higher in occurrences this season....last year with everyone social distancing, wearing masks, etc the cases were so low...the one big hospital here had 1 flu hospitalization last year....normally its between 200-300....not sure what this winter will be with illness!! Doing my best to keep healthy here!!
Oh...Jill came home last night after supper...she's very weak and not out of the woods yet but better enough to go home...I'm thinking they don't want people in the hospital any longer than necessary at this point in light of the increase in cases!!
Gabrielle...WOW, you got really chilly this morning!! It was 60° when I left for work. They predict upper 50's tomorrow morning but then we get our warm up and will be morning temps in upper 60's and day time pushing 80°....crazy this late in October!! Shea's sister Bryn is running the Boston Marathon today. Thankfully the weather is much better this year than the last time she ran it...last time it was rainy/drizzly and only low 40's for a high...miserable weather!! This year was mid to upper 60's, a bit gloomy but definitely an improvement from last time!! She finished in 3:32:32 with an average 7.44 mph....8.07 minute mile...she has always been an avid runner!! So glad you and Ed got to have a nice afternoon for a drive!! Sometimes you just need to take the time!!
Well...happy to report I did get more water in today just by stopping at the water cooler and chugging 6-8 oz as I went by....I think I made 7 stops so that's 50 oz, give or take!! Win for me!! Also had my 30 oz tumbler and 16 oz that I mix my supplements with....so about 96 or so....

Carole...glad you got sun today!! We were supposed to get some "peaks" but we got NOTHING!! Gloomy and dreary all day....it's been 9 straight days of gloomy weather according to the weather forecast a few minutes ago....really is getting depressing!! Glad you just took the time to go boating with friends...everything else will wait!! YAY for perfect planning on the food for yesterday!! Although I would have love an extra bowl of soup/chowder for one lunch at least!! LOL!! I think that's awesome that Bob is starting to feel comfortable around the family even without Tracy!! I'm sure Bob was pleased with his Cowboys...I'm thinking them won since Gloria is a Cowboys and fan and she said they looked good!! LOL, I don't blame your for not getting your water today....no bathroom and on a boat is NOT a good thing!
Well Carole....part of the cancellations for SW were the weather and air traffic controllers in FL but some of it was staff calling in since the vaccine mandate came down the end of the week. According to Shea yesterday the same thing happened to American and Delta/United, I forget which the other airlines are...but they had the same problem the first week after they mandated vaccines. Shea is thinking that things will settle down in a week or so....SW, like the other airlines, had to put in mandates because they have federal contracts for service members....it's 15% at least of the income for the airlines and because they have these contracts, they have to follow the Federal mandates. The deadline for vaccinations is 11/24....hoping things are settled down by the time we fly on December 16th.
After the first of the year works for me Carole for painting...yes, isn't it funny I you get that little reminder of those lost from this earth just when you need it!! So cool that rose bush was blooming again!!
WOW Carole....afraid of the beep on the crockpot?? These fears seem to be getting worse and worse. Are their concerns that Eden is on the autism spectrum??? If you mentioned that before, I missed that. I know you have been concerned about the behavior issues lately and it seems that Jaclyn, not sure about Tim, is not interested in even contemplating the issue.
YAY, so glad the accounts seem secure and have a plan to keep the bulk of the $$ in another account just to be sure. Did the employee give account information?? Did they get on the computer system to access information??? I will say, we have no critter issues with the veggies in the basement....the spot where Jason keeps them is not quite as cold as the fridge when it gets the coldest part of the winter....mostly it's in the low 50's most of the winter. Honestly, never heard of anyone who froze apples before but seems like it works for you!!
OK...time to put my feet up for a bit and hit the sack early! That alarm will be ringing early!!
Waves to all I missed...hope everyone had a great Monday!
