HAPPY BIRTHDAY ,RUTH
IT WAS MENTIONED ON LIFETIMERS,
HI CRAFTERS, WELL I Am having good days and bad days. the bloating is not getting much better. now IT IS THE LEFT SI NERVE,VERY PAINFUL,with painful spasms at times. my chiro dose not know what to do with me,my Patti(anp/bc) Doesn't know where to tell them to give me the si injection
Monday I went To DR.JORDAN ,to find out why I AM VOIDING ALL THE TIME.I will be learning pt on NOV.10 TH AND 17 FOR THE KEGEL EXERCISES..feeling like I am falling apart.
good news is I SAW MY ONCOLOGIST YESTERDAY, platelets are up a little since AUGUST,NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT ,I am in the safe zone if I NEED HIP SURGERY.
told him about my bloating and he has away of putting his hand on my belly and tapping it. sounds like a drum, means I am bloated..also gave me some stretching exercises to do, different then from my pt ones. AFTER 3 VISITS I have finally decide I WILL REALLY LIKE THIS GUY. I asked him with high platelets did he see any bad cases with the virus? he lost 8 patients, but their inmune system was really low.
yesterday was our 59th anniversary.we went to Rochester had the firehouse subs.before I stopped in the quilt shop, bought another 2 yard of fabric.. I wanted to check out their TJMAX and TRADER JOE'S, by that time I was hurting so bad we came home.
last night we went to olive garden for dinner. last week I HAD to cancel out a sew day because of the sleep clinic, today I cancel out on sew day Saturday. maybe this Thursday I can go. not doing any sewing at home, darn it.

CJ,I think those may be my favorite blocks except I've loved so many of them that it's hard to say. The everything blocks are really great. I love those reds and blues. I'm sorry you had those bad headaches. They can be very debilatating/ And no, I don't think you're crazy at all. I think you just love creating beautiful things.
Phyl, thank you. I haven't been to that thread in a long time so I'm surprised they mentioned me. I'm sorry to hear that you're still having bloating and as if that isn't enough on it's own that you have to suffer from bladder problems. Is your bladder painful too or is it that you have to "go" so often? I do think it's terrible that they haven't come to a conclusion of what's causing the bloating and therefore haven't been able to do anything about it. And Happy Anniversary to you and Don. You do seem like a very happy couple.
I've mostly been playing games online since my last post and i get so mad at myself for doing that and wasting time. I did finishe the Christmas hat and want to start another this evening.

Hello Everyone Thanks for the comments on my quilt blocks, I appreciate them and enjoy sharing pictures with you all here Ruth - What type of online games do you play, if you don't mind saying? I do jigsaw puzzles sometimes and I have Rummy and Majong on my Kindle that I like to play. I'm glad you've made progress on the Christmas hats. I had another headache today that was about as bad as the one on Wednesday. I wish I could figure out what is triggering them. I have a few other symptoms, so who knows it could be a virus of some sort. When I was feeling better yesterday I did some more hand quilting and I've finished all the hearts on the doll quilt and now I just have some straight line quilting to do through the nine patch blocks and around the border. I also did the next step in the Autumn Jubilee quilt along (picture below). I'm really happy with my acorn block and excited to use my acorn and pine cone/needle themed fabrics for this quilt. I like the layout of this quilt and was thinking it would be fun to make with a house pattern block in the center. The weather was nice here today and warmer. Sounds like we're supposed to get storms tomorrow afternoon and then cool and dry weather after that. Hope your weather has been nice and you get to do some crafting this weekend. Even though I've made a lot of leaf blocks this year, I really like the quilts that were on the MSQC tutorial today. I especially like the 2nd and 3rd one and might think about making one of those. Here's a link to the video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rluD_Xv2-N4 Take care

CJ, I'm sorry to hear that you've been having headaches again. I hope and pray that they will leave you alone from now on. It's great that you got so much done. I really like the acorn block. I still have to go and watch that video but it sounds like you've accomplished a lot.
Ginny, it sounds like it's been another very busy day for you. At least you did get to Joann's for the supplies you need and you got your flu shot so two things to cross off your list.
I finished the dining room today finally. There was so much to do in there. Besides all my things in the cabinets I have a lot of optted plants in that room that all had to be moved and a table ...kind of like a coffee table...that also had to be move away from the very large floor to almost ceiling windos. They are also wide and there are three of them so it took a lot of window washing. The windows have wide ledges on the bottoms that hold mostly our rock and mineral collections so those all had to be moved to clean those sills and then the vacuuming of the floor. It looks great now. Tomorrow the kitchen with all the shelves and stove drawer, etc being cleaned or maybe the living room getting dusted and vacuumed, windows, baseboards and all.
I also was able to get in some crocheting and finished another Christmas hat...only 7 more to get done before the middle of Nov.Luckily they're easy and fast.

Happy Saturday all! Right now i am sitting on the deck- skies are blue but the clouds and the cold front are visible off to the west…..mid 70’s….nice day to get some leaves raked and some weeds pulled.(which I did )
Ruth, sounds like you accomplished quite a bit. A nice feeling of accomplishment getting that large window cleaned and the plants/rocks/minerals straightened out. Bet your crochet time gave you some nice time to relax and be creative.
CJ- glad you got more hand quilting done. I wonder if your headaches are seasonal in nature? My DSIL has some symptoms that we have figured out come with fall weather (but not sure why that is a problem yet). Hoping that today is not a headache day for you and you can do what you want without feeling poorly. I will check out that video later on today….I usually enjoy the MSQ videos- they have a great way to make things easier in the world of quilting.
Phyl- happy 59th anniversary to you and Don!!! I know you cherish every day you have together…and pray that you are blessed with many many more. Hope that you can get some answers to your discomfort and bloating. I will keep my fingers crossed that you can get some sewing done this week. I love Olive Garden!!! What is your favorite meal there??
Gonna finish some light vacuuming here…get a short walk in and then DD is supposed to come over.
See ya later! Ginny

This has been a beautiful afternoon. Sunny, in the 60s, and clear air. Most of the snow on the deck (about 2 feet) has melted.
I'm moving furniture around to get hb upstairs (our main floor). I've also made a series of appointments to start moving in the direction of hospice. His doctor, a geriatrician, said that based on weight loss, he would qualify now.
This was a tough week. Snow, a very sick dog, and everything else that happens in life. Sweet dog had advanced cancer as it turned out. That hit hard because I thought she had back problems.
Helper hasn't been here all week. That was an unfortunate situation in her life where she had a miscarriage. She should be back on Tuesday.
I did some crochet a few weeks ago but quit after having a problem with stitches in a row.
I spent a long time this afternoon updating my stepdaughter about what's happening here. Good conversation.

It was a fairly nice day here too but windy. It got only to about 58. I would really like fall if it didn't lead to winter.
Sue, It sounds like you're having some real trials and tribulations in your life.I hope you can get Hospice for your hubby. You definitely need help. I'm sorry to hear that your helper had a miscarraige. She must be feeling very sad.
Ginny, dh and I did some yard work also. Not too much but we did get a bunch of invasive weeds pulled. I've never seen these before. Our snow is about 99% gone.
CJ, I hope you're feeling well today and were able to work on your quilting.
After we came in from yard work I did some cooking making things for the next couple days although since dh thinks he has to have three meals a day I may have to do a little cooking for one of his meals in each day. He also got the a/c taken out of the window.
CJ, you asked what games I play online and I forgot to answer. I play solitaire, yahtzee on the internet, Bejeweled Blitz on FB, and solitaire game with fish...When you win you get points to buy the fish...no real money involved..the fish then swim around while you play the game. There were other games I used to play on FB but they changed whatever it was that supported those games so they became unavailable. I also don't play with anyone except my second FB account that i set up because I needed an opponent in order to advance in some of those old games.

good morning,
Sue, gee you have had such a tough week or so…between the decision to get hospice care and the loss or your dear dog, Snow. With hospice help comes relief but it also indicates that the situation has become more dire….will keep you in prayer during this most difficult time. Glad you had a good conversation with your DSD, and hope that was comforting to you. Stop in when you can….even if just for some companionship and a place to vent. You are loved here by all of us and we support you.
Ruth, so you got some yard work done also! Good for you. Been working hard the past week both inside and outside the home. Bet its nice to have that window back after taking the airconditioner out. I like having the additional light coming through the window in the fall.
I was tired last night and read instead of crafting. But today is a new day and I will get to probably ornaments in a little bit watching football.
CJ- hope your are headache free.
Phyl, hope you feel well enough to get some sewing time in

Hello Everyone Sue - I'm sorry to hear your DH is ready for Hospice, but my family has worked with them several times and they are so helpful. I hope you can get him settled upstairs, and that you your caregiver will be back soon when she feels like it. I'm glad you have family around too. Ruth - Thanks for the game info. You have been so busy with getting house and yard things done, I'm sure it feels great to have them finished. Ginny - Hope you were able to rest today and work on the ornaments. When you embroider do you use a back stitch or a stem or outline stitch? Phyl - Hope you are feeling better. It's gotten much colder here after the storms that went through yesterday. It's in the low 60s today. I'm going to see how long I can last without turning on the furnace I managed not to have a headache yesterday and I'm good so far today too. I hope I'm over that round of them, they can be so exhausting. I finished hand quilting the doll quilt but I'm not that happy with it. It just seems over quilted even though I did minimal quilting in each small block. I can't really figure out what stitches could be removed to help, so I guess I just have to go with it. Probably once it is washed it will be softer. I pulled out a few more small quilt projects to hand quilt and hope to work on them next. I want to get to the Baptist Fan project soon and get it done this year. Hope all of you are having nice weather and getting to do some crafting. Take care!

CJ- so very happy to hear that you have not had headaches today!!!! Yay. I think with the doll quilt the best idea is to walk away from it- and perhaps take a picture of it.. Sometimes the picture brings out a different perspective of your beautiful work. I would not take any stitches out…and I bet its prettier than you are seeing at the moment. Ok…so just a few weeks ago we were too hot?? Now its a race against time to see when the heat goes on. Probably not this week for me, but perhaps by the end of the week. Hope you can get to your baptist fan project soon- you have been looking forward to that for a long time.
The stitches in this project include french knot, stem stitch, seed stitch, split stitch and satin stitch. I am curious how all the stitches will work out and might change some. I have already substituted the split stitch for the stem stitch in one area, and I think it looks better.
Off to go work on the base for some more Christmas ornaments.

it was warmer here today. I think it hit 70 but dh said it actually got up to 72.That's the kind of weather I like.
CJ, I agree with Ginny. Don't take out any stitches until you put that doll quilt aside for awhile. A lot of my things look disappointing but if I wait they look ok. I remember you mentioning the Baptist fan quilt and you sounded excited about working on that so I'm glad you're planning on doing that this week.
Ginny, I never could figure out how a french knot worked. There are a lot of crochet patterns that tell you to use one for the eyes for small amigurumi. I forgot all about football so don't even know what games were televised here.
I'm still working on hats but somehow something keeps going wrong on the rows that stay the same. They're all single crochets and you just keep doing that for several rows but I've found that after those several rows I have a lot more stitches than I should and therefore the hat is too large. How that can happen I have no clue. Esp in this last one I made sure to pay close attention to make sure that I'm not going into a stitch twice and even and still ended up with extra stitches. And I might have to make some over because I don't like the way they look.
