GOOD MORNING! Love, light, blessings, and good health!
Carol an ocean trip sounds so nice. I loved swimming in the ocean in August! Good for you for planning ahead -- car ready, packing healthy eats. Prep is most of it!
Jan I hope that you are okay.
Yes I did: home abs, rowing machine, weights, walking. Lots of law, project slow but turning the corner. Attended wedding. My friend announced at the last minute he was attending with me! After that a nice walk down by the river, healthy supper, and we watched a movie on my computer. Romantic comedy so no nightmares last night! LOL.
Yes I can: Home abs. Walking breaks. Chores. Lots and lots of law. tonight is hard toning class and then reward myself with a nice swim.
I remain OP. I am starting to plan ahead for MO trip. I have purchased bunches of tuna/salmon packed in water.
Step one - check my email and get dressed!
Love, light, blessings, and good health! janet

Happy Monday Late Evening.
Busy weekend. Very nice weather and got a lot done. Thought I posted...but I see I did not. Thursday's appt at the radiologist went well, I now have three tiny tattoos on me for "mapping". Nat, it is breast cancer, we think they got it all, but I am doing radiation to be sure. Four weeks of it and 5 days a week. That's one more week than I was expecting.
It's late tonight so I will be back in the morning.

Good Tuesday morning Canners! Happy travels to Carol I LOVE your photo Janet- need to figure out how to get a photo onto my profile someday Jan: thinking of you as you mentally prep for radiation Hi Nat! Will read about you in a minute.
Yes I can: view my "stew of complicated family members that all happen to be men" as a permanent situation that needs a long term emotion management plan for me if i am going to be a support to them. This means- I won't use food to numb a feeling (since I am having many and often) BECAUSE 25 lbs of extra weight on me will only make me feel more resentful, out of control and overwhelmed. A way of self care is to take care of my nutrition and my health. So there!
and how about you?

Good Morning!! Love, light, blessings, and good health.
Jan I am so happy your appointment went well, I hope they continue to go well. One day it will be behind you and meanwhile each of us are here for you. That is what happened with my knee surgery. Just concentrated on what was in front of me and somehow one day it was in the rear view mirror although my knee still hurts if I overdue - which I always do. Hope the critters are keeping you company.
Sally, click on your name. Follow the prompts to upload a photo by editing your profile. I wish navigating the stew of complicated relationships were as easy as navigating photo uploads. When you figure it out, please share it with me. Both my Dad and my brother are angry with me. And as y'all know -- the relationship with my boyfriend has always been hard. But you are right throwing food at it just makes it worse. I am trying to make myself read a bunch of self-help books but instead have been caught up in a novel about zombies.
Yes I did: take my own advice and have book discussion about a self help book last night with a friend who is also dealing with aging-parent-issues. Home abs, walking breaks, tough weight class, and lovely swim. Aforementioned book discussion. Lots of law, finally light at the end of the tunnel on current project. I am OP but really need to work on portion sizes and salt. WI later this week. Yes I can: home abs, walking breaks, weight class, swim. Lots of law. Stay OP, watch portions and salt. Start adulting by getting dressed and checking the mail! Nice gentle rain off and on all day and throughout the week. I hope my friend's (he is the sound & lighting guy) outdoor concert does not get cancelled tomorrow night.
One two three getting dressed!! Love light blessings and good health , janet

Good Morning!!! Love, light, blessings, and good health.
Just a quick check in. I am still OP and yesterday I did home abs, a couple very short walking breaks, rowing machine, toning class and a swim. Weigh in tomorrow and I am a little nervous because AP have been lower due to work deadlines and portion sizes have been creeping up (stress).
Today online seminar all day so have to work from home. Afterwards something at gym. Rainy icky weather so probably no concert tonight. Probably no fitness breaks. Okay best get my home office set up for seminar time! Mail and stuff online I need printer for before it starts.
Love, light, blessings, and good health, janet

Happy Wednesday. "It's going to be a good day". That's my new Mantra said every morning before I even put my feet on the floor. Having my 2 good buddies over this afternoon to chat. Always happy with friends around me. My SIL goes back home to S.F. tomorrow morning so I have no reason not to get back to a better, lower calorie diet. Have done too much unhealthy cooking. More gardening yesterday, so getting a lot of steps in and digging is great exercise. Planting lettuce as soon as I can get my row cover installed to keep out the critters. Having raised beds help. Beautiful weather this past week after "the storm" and suppose to be 82-degrees on the coast Fri. and Sat. Saw my Swee-pea bunny twice yesterday. Must be hungry. Sally/ Janet: Family stuff is the hardest to navigate. Maybe find a new thing you like to do that helps park your mind in a different space? Something that takes concentration and is fun. Reading a great book helps me, or my almost-a-meditation jigsaw puzzles. Just finished a good novel about the Civil War Sunflower Sisters by Martha Hall Kelly who also wrote Lilac Girls, both are good. And if you haven't read Four Winds by Kristen Hannah I highly recommend it. Waves to Nat and Carol. Need to get going. Back Later.... Jan

Good Morning!!! Love, light, blessings, and good health.
Jan so lovely to read you this morning! I am glad that you had a nice visit with your sister and am visualizing yummy garden fresh lettuce. I have noted the book titles & authors, thanks for the suggestions. I always love your recommendations.
Yes I did: manage mini-versions of abs, walking, spinning, and swimming to accommodate grueling & brutal all day online seminar. Yes I can: WI. Still raining so no walks and I will miss morning abs but hope to make up for everything tonight at the gym. (toning class, swimming, will do extra abs at gym to compensate) I am hoping that the WI will launch me back into Frugal Fat Farm (FFF). As always gotten derailed by a work deadline. It is always a work deadline! But I am making a lot of progress on that deadline. Working from home all day yesterday has made me appreciate the library even more. Okay - one, two, three go!! love light blessings and good health janet

Happy Thursday Friends,
Got my SIL off to the airport this morning, then a quick trip to Costco. They have some Puma sports bras for sale that I really like. Need some softness for the radiation treatments that start on Tuesday. Yesterday we had a lovely time visiting the beach and Old Town San Diego. This is where Sally and I had lunch when she was here. Lovely Tropical Margarita and we all 3 split an appetizer plate for dinner. Lots of walking and my knees (both of them!) are pretty sore. Taking it easy today. My friends rescheduled our get together till tomorrow as one of their daughters had a man try to break in her house yesterday morning. So scary, both Mom and daughter very shaken up.
Janet: I am with you One, Two, Three, GO! I am ready to get back to healthy eating. I can see why the pressure of deadlines would derail you. Stay strong.
We can do this! OP starts NOW.

Good Morning!!! Love, light, blessings, and good health.
Jan I am with you on eating changes. I have been OP but need help with portion sizes. We are in this together. I hope you found some needed softness and prayers continue for you -- today and continuing up to, on Tuesday and beyond. My knee has been talking to me - I hope it is the weather. So much rain and a big weather change here.
Yes I did: maintain at WI. I am pretty much at goal weight so I am considering that to be a victory. I would like to think about losing another five pounds but need to get through this deadline and upcoming trip to check on parents. (keeping dates/details off of internet at some point I will just disappear and come back) I also did abs at gym, weight class, swim, and walking breaks. Lots of law but still behind with deadline. Yes I can: The sun is supposed to come out so will chance hanging out the load of wash I started. I will do some abs. I have not been sleeping well and am running behind this morning but a short version of home abs, spinning class, and swim. I have already adulted with email -- need to do the same with snail mail. Law this afternoon, I hope to get a draft ready this afternoon so I can get it in final and off electronically tomorrow afternoon. Tonight: healthy shopping. Yes we can! We got this! I am starting with portion sizes right here and right now! Love, light, blessings, and good health, janet

Happy Friday Evening.
I had such a wonderful day with my friends. I try new heathy recipes on these girls and I picked a winner. It's myrecipes.com Herbed Shrimp and Rice Salad. Lots of veggies, rice, with a healthy dressing served on mixed greens. Was a busy day with the morning full of AT&T appt for cable and a rather large grocery shop.
Wildlife Report: My little Swee-pea bunny came out this morning, along with 3 squirrels and a half dozen birds, the cable guy was amazed how well they all got along. The squirrels sometimes fight among themselves, I think there are 2 tribes. They just chase each other around, no real harm.
Janet: Did a load of laundry myself today, hung out in the unseasonably warm weather. I'd gladly trade you for more rain. And yes my knees hurt worse in damp weather. Good luck with the parents visit. Goal weight is a Victory for sure. High Five.
Sweet Dreams to All,
Jan

Good Morning!!! Love, light, blessings, and good health!
Jan I loved the wildlife report. That shrimp salad sounds so good. Time with friends sounds even better. I am meeting a friend tonight to walk. I have not seen her in too long and I am really looking forward to getting caught up. She is my movie buddy but I do not feel safe in theaters right now so I have not seen her. She has agreed to walk tonight and I am even missing Mass to meet her.
Yes I did: a load of wash done (and put away slightly damp due to humidity) yesterday and another started predawn this morning. It gets light so late this time of year. Abs. Walking breaks. Spinning Class & then swim. Lots and lots of law. Finally turning the corner on that project. Healthy shopping & cooking. A good night's sleep after all of that. Yes I can: yard gym this morning as soon as the sun comes out. I will probably end up doing most of it tomorrow. Wash sheets. Swim. Hopefully finish law project, or at least in close to final so can finish it and ship it off tomorrow. It is 52 degrees here believe it or not. Wow. Finally fall. And tonight get caught up with my buddy! okay getting dressed -- one, two , three . . . . love, light, blessings, and good health, janet

Happy Saturday positive peeps, first time checking in this week!! Woohoo Sally on the photo upload, love it! Good luck with navigating those men in your life, let me know once you figure it out. I need to also watch the stuffing of the emotions with food. Oh Jan, hugs to your and prayers for your upcoming radiation. You've got this! And that also reminds me to schedule my mammo this week. Glad you had some good friends time. Very scary for the friend's daughter, glad they weren't successful. Janet, kudos to you on the maintain and also being OP. My knees, hips and top of left foot are talking to me this week. I'm carrying an extra 10 lb from this time last year. And cooler weather must be making it worse. I can't seem to get myself motivated. Carol, good thing that the retirement worked out for you, that's such a short amount of time to decide. I would have wanted to get closer to around 65, but I just can't see that happening in this current situation. Hoping they give some kind of help with medical but if not, I'm pretty sure I'll be saying goodbye anyway. I hope you are enjoying some beach time! It's been a bit of a nightmare this week with another person out because her 3 kids came down with covid and also her husband. She was vaccinated in August because she had to. She's so glad she did now, it's kicking her hubby's behind. Anyway, I survived the week. Enjoying weekend home, as I stayed at mom and dad's all week with split shifts and some OT. May this week be a little better Yes I CAN: Focus on food choices. Get moving more! Waves, Nat
