Good morning. Heard a storm earlier this morning, cloudy now and 64, showers coming back later with a high of 71.
Gareth, I too am happy you are seeing the Cardio today. (Good luck!) As that fatigue needs to be checked. I had fatigue, but that was after Covid, and eventually went away. About the water heater, if I do not hear from management by early afternoon, I will call them. I am still shocked that a 3 yr old heater could quit working. I too have read the thinking now is 10,000 steps are not that important, but to me that is still my goal I try to reach.
Robin, DGD did not like the taco dish I made, because it had garbanzo beans in it, and she does not like those. If I remember right, I did not like those either, when I was younger. Oh boy...I don't think I could keep my mouth shut if what happened at your house, happened here, when DH was still alive. The thing that gets me ticked now, with the TV is, with it being a smart TV, every so often it freezes, with that circle going around in the center of the picture, just long enough to be irritating. What day does the painter come?
Carol, so sorry about that older lady from your church passing away. She must have wanted to come to church one last time, before passing on. That tray sounds like a great idea.
The kids are really growing up, but I can still see some immaturity in DGS. It is so easy having them over for 2 nights, but I was glad last night that I did not have anyone here to worry about, during the night.
No mail today, and the banks are closed, right? The credit union I belong to is calling today a mental health day for their employees. We never had that, back when I was working. That is what weekends were for, lol!!
Have a nice day, everyone!

Just stopping by quick before I have to get up and get moving. I changed my mind about going to WM like I usually do first thing Mon mornings. It's raining and it's suppose to most of the day. 55ยบ now but only "warming" up to 61ยบ I've started an order for pickup at WM That'll be easier too for awhile when I'm in my cast.
Karen, you're more patient than me. I'd be on the phone first thing if I'd been without hot water all weekend. It's supposed to be Columbus Day but I guess now it's called Indigenous Day. I don't understand all this changing history, monuments etc.

Hi friends!! I didn't come on to post at all over the weekend so caught up on the posts already. Just enjoyed the grandkids and my time with them as the guys were out combining and I had them all to myself. DDIL picked them up a little before noon and then it was catchup time around the house.
It was only 40 degrees when we got up this morning at 6:30 and now it is up to 43 as I write this. High is going to be 64 for today----fall has finally arrived. The leaves are sure falling fast around here too. We had a little rain Saturday evening but not enough to amount to anything. We had a great lightning show with it. We were at the south edge of it and to the north of us they had some nasty weather and good amount of rain---i guess 3 inches some places, that would not be good for harvest right now.
Karen---glad you had fun too with your DGC and you were able to do some fun things and also got some work in the garage done. I find that kids are generally happy when they can help and it makes them feel good. Good as long as you don't do all work and play with it. OMG on the water heater, I hate that but at least you do have water. I would be calling before noon I think as you have been out the whole weekend. Is it possible you blew a breaker? I was like you that the kids left yesterday---it was fun but when you are used to the quiet it is nice to go back to that. DS took his kids home at night so at least I didn't have them overnights. The 2 older girls ages 10 and 8 help so much with their baby sister too so that helps. She is a sweetie but will be 1 in a month so she is getting quite mobile----in other words in to everything. Their brother is 5 almost 6 already and he is so good too. You are right--no mail and government offices are closed. Our local school is closed too today and state colleges are, but our DGS school where they live is open.
Gareth---so glad your appointment is today and hope you get some good answers. Thinking of you today.
Carol---so sad about the 9 year old and very nice of you to attend the funeral for support of the family. My 3 year old nephew died when I was 4 years old. I do not remember the funeral but I do remember being at the cemetery and everyone was crying. I remember I thought I should be crying also but I didn't know why nor could I. I soon realized after that I would not see my DN again in this life. I have been to a couple of teenagers funerals but that is it where children are concerned.
Anngie---I hope the wedding was grand and you have enjoyed your weekend with your DS's family there. How fun!!!
Marsha and Robin-----do you work today or is it a holiday for you?
Time to do some farmbooks again so that is what I am up to for awhile today----ladies enjoy your day!!!

Pinky, I am at work. Marsha is in Arizona, so not working anyway, but maybe because she missed one less day this way. Are weather is cooler too, but definitely not that cold, in the 60's, and it might hit 70 for a minute. They are saying we might hit 80 towards the end of the week.
Karen, boys tend to me less mature than girls, and seeing as you only had girls, you may not remember that from your youth. It is that way with a lot of things, so not surprised. Your DGS is 14, am I right? I really can't remember.
Gareth. Definitely a good idea to use Walmart curbside pick up when you have your hand done. Are you allowed to drive? DH said that they are going to start to charge for Amazon Fresh, but then our Amex card is going to give us some kind of special Walmart perk, so might use that instead for certain things. I have never tried their groceries, and don't really know whether the store close to us has groceries, so I will have to see. I will wait until I see if Amazon Fresh really does charge. It is kind of nice, but if I have to go back to shopping in stores in a few weeks, I will be fine.
The painter is starting next Monday. I have decided on 2 of the paints, but want to go back to the store that has Benjamin Moore to see if I can get something similar to the very pale blue I found at Sherwin Williams, so they can get all the paint in one store. DH is going to arrange for someone to come for 4 hours on Saturday to help with moving things around and packing up. I don't think there is 4 hours of work inside, but if not I will have him start organizing and throwing out in the garage.

Karen, I didn't realize it was Columbus day until I read your post. I wondered why all the schools are out. I think our school district was off on Friday, too, so it is a little Fall break.
We had a thunderstorm last night. We should get rain for the next 3 days and the temps should be much lower, tomorrow 81 and then for the next week, highs only in the 70s. I need to get out some long sleeve shirts.
The mom of a good friend died last night. She was in her 90s and had dementia. Not unexpected, but still hard. A lot of people don't make it to their late 60s with a parent still living.
DD and family made it to her in-laws okay. She sent a picture of DGS in a boat.
Robin, glad you found a paint color. Paint is one of those things that looks easy until you realize all the prep required. It is one of those jobs that I'm glad we can pay people to do.
Karen, hope you get your hot water heater fixed soon. I think it is one of those things that is a necessity and don't want to be without for too long.

I am really feeling much better today, it is close to 3 pm here, and I am not having any pains really, but I am not going to tell DH that. I did take care of something he wanted me to do, I am going to do a few more things, and maybe leave. I have a prescription to pick up, then can run over to the paint store.
Carol, when someone in their 90's dies, especially with dementia, sometimes it is a blessing. I know it is always sad, because no one wants to lose a parent, but if they have a long, good life, what more can we ask for.
