Good morning friends. Slept well and grateful. Today I plan on a day without any drama attached. I will rest up and just relax.
Pam that meal has me drooling. So happy you enjoyed and got your walk in. Prayers continue for DH.
From what I hear it's getting the tick out quickly so you don't have lingering issues. There is one gal that lives in our retirement community that has Lyme disease and she is in some sort of study where they try different medications.
Waving and wishing all a peaceful and OP day.
Again thanks for the prayers and well wishes.

Hey all,
It's a gorgeous almost summery day today and the dogs and I are just back from our walk and their "daily constitution." The cleaning lady comes on Tuesdays - one nice perk of living here at the hotel. We will clear out around noontime when she shows up and I have some errands to run. My wireless mouse has conked out and I need more treats for D&D. I'd like to find a small inexpensive purse because I am carrying one the size of a briefcase now - I filled it when we moved out but I am finding it nearly impossible to find everything in it. lol
I had a hair appointment last night with my regular "second daughter" hairdresser. She told me over and over that even if I do ever want to go to a different stylist, she will still love me. That was cute. I have no intention of doing that unless it becomes too hard once we move. She is off to her 20th h.s. reunion and needed motherly advice. lol She's lost 10 lbs and very excited about her wardrobe for the party and the festivities. I'm happy for her. She works her fingers to the bone all the time and is really the main breadwinner for her two kiddos. She's engaged, but work is not his middle name. I think she may decide not to get married to him. I remain silent!
Pam, I am so sorry to hear that you did not like the look of the wound but if the doctor is okay with it, that must have eased your mind a bit. Your breakfast with your friend sounded delicious to me! I often get corned beef hash and fried eggs when I go out - love that combo.
Ann, glad you are keeping and eye on the tick bite. Smart and it's good you got a "jump" on that critter. I think I told you that Doug - the dog - got Lyme Disease. He wears the prescription collar but got it anyway. We never knew until he came up positive on a test. Poor little Doug.
Have a great day all. I'll check in later. Lots of work to do today. Glad to be WFH (working from hotel!!)

Judy how awesome is that!!!! Your 'second daughter/hair stylist' giving you the A-ok to find a new one should the drive get to be too much. I know that feeling well. Enzo was an artist with hair...Shelly is a hairdresser...nuff said. But I won't make the trip into Worcester....way too much traveling back and forth in one day. Plus, even though I grew up in Worcester it has changed so much that I don't recognize it. I guess they call that progress!!!!! Thanks, my arm does feel much better but I am having Carl watch it like a hawk. He's good like that and doesn't mind. Right now is is off dropping off our winter jackets to the dry cleaners here in town and will also stop at Ocean State Job Lots as we have a few of their cards to use up. He will come back with a ton of stuff, I'm sure! Yes you did tell me about poor Doug. Benjamin had something with his blood test while living in NYC. Not full fledged Lyme disease but he is to be watched. Stephanie sent all his Vet records and we gave them to our Vet and she was quite impressed with all the work done on him. She has a copy and we do as well and she is aware of the problem. I leave it in her capable hands. I had to LOL at D&D and their 'daily constitution' Benjamin has gone out twice for his and mid afternoon he will go in back again just in case................then it's the final walk of the day after his supper of kibble I agree, it's a beautiful day out there today. I am happy to just stay put which is why I didn't bother to go with Carl. Nothing I need at Ocean State. Going to sit and read a bit. Will CBL Waving

Hi again! I am back from my jaunt. I managed to zip into Marshall's and snag a cute cross body bag for a good price. Much smaller than the "trunk" I was lugging around. Then, I popped into Walmart and picked up Busy Bones for D&D and a wireless mouse - much needed with my laptop. I had a quick lunch of half a quesadilla at Qdoba. Sue gave me the idea to try Qdoba. I've never been. That filled me up and DH can have the other half later. Even though our diets are not always great here in our temporary quarters, I don't eat between meals and haven't had sweets in ages. So, those are small victories. No crackers and cheese, etc. No ice cream.
The cleaning lady went home sick before she got to us but they are trying to line up another one since I am out of the hotel till Friday and I must take the dogs out when she is here.
Daisy is snoring to beat the band right now! She gets worn out easily. :-) They keep their little lives simple, don't they?
Have a good afternoon and Ann, I am glad you have Hawkeye Carl watching that tick bite. :-) I guess bull's eyes are something to look for. THat's how my boss discovered his. He never saw the tick since they are so small - like the head of a common pin. Nasty little things.

Judy those are HUGE accomplishments. Pat yourself on the back from me Speaking of snoring, I can hear Benjamin across the house LOL. He sounds like a freight train at times. I believe it's due to his pushed in face! Luigi and LuLa were the same way. All I can say is thank God Carl has such great vision. If it were the other way around I would never have seen it. He knew that the head was still inside of me which is why he strongly suggested that I go and have it removed. I am just happy that it's over with. It's still tender to the touch and I keep on applying the ointment that she provided at urgent care. I tried reading but nope it didn't happen. Our neighbor was out mowing the lawn and the sound lulled me to sleep LOL...doesn't take much Now I'll try once again!

Nothing better than a catnap mid-day. I love that!
Yep, Doug and Daisy sound like bears when they snore! lol We are off for another nap soon.
I am due for a pedicure but haven't really found the time. My nails are pretty pitiful, too, but they can wait a bit.
TTFN!

Hello friends!
After attending a virtual hospice team meeting, and a breakfast of persimmon pecan OO, I went out and planted 160 garlic and a row of green onion sets. I was a sweaty, dirty mess by the time I finished at lunchtime. I did take a couple of water breaks in between, but it still took a couple hours all told. After a shower and a late lunch of turkey sausage gumbo, brown rice and steamed okra, I headed to town for my hair appointment. I was looking pretty shaggy and am so pleased with the trim and shaping she did.
From the hairdresser's, I headed to Super1 for groceries. Unfortunately, I couldn't find everything I needed, so moved on to Walmart, since I needed to pick up prescriptions for both of us anyway. When I inquired about DH's test strips he ordered a week ago and the needles he ordered 3 days ago, I was told neither were ready as they were "out of stock". When I tried to ask questions, the clerk impatiently told me I'd have to speak to the pharmacist. I then asked for my prescription and was told it wasn't ready. I told her I had received a text message saying it was ready for pickup and again got referred to the pharmacist. The pharmacist told me my prescription WAS ready, so I got back in line and finally was able to pay for it. On impulse, I asked to speak with the pharmacist again and had him check on DH's prescriptions. Turns out the needles WERE ready, but still no test strips after nearly two weeks of waiting. He explained to me that even though there are several brands available, Medicare will only pay for one type of test strips that fit DH's blood sugar monitor and they are in short supply. They are scheduled to receive a shipment tomorrow and he offered to let DH know via email if they actually come in. So, I got back in line again to pay for the needles and was finally able to finish grocery shopping. The lines were long and it was nearly 5:30, so I checked myself out and headed home.
Luckily, DH and I had planned to have leftover pork roast and cole slaw for dinner, so all I had to do after putting away groceries was microwave a baked potato to go with that. By then, I was feeling exhausted. It will be an early bedtime tonight!
Judy - We seem to be on the same schedule for both hairdresser and pedicures. I noticed today that it's time for a pedi whenever I can manage to fit it into my schedule. With no cooking or cleaning to do, you are going to get spoiled, lol.
Ann - Glad you got to enjoy a nap today. Sometimes, we just need to rest.
Sue - Waving! Hope you had a great day!
