Good morning.
Had rain over night, supposed to clear out and have just cloudy skies, with a high of 70.
What is going on with Southwest airlines? They keep cancelling most flights, and blaming the government, but the government replied that is not true, other airlines are working fine. Strange. Hope Marsha didn't book on that airline!!
Gareth, can not wait to hear what your Cardio doc told you, yesterday. Fingers crossed!!!
Great idea, starting to use WM curbside pick up. I remember last year, with using them, and 2 other local grocery store curbside pickups, WM's was the best of the 3, which surprised me, but I had to say honestly, their system works great.
Yes, you are right, it used to be Columbus day, but with how the Indian nation got treated so badly, since we all started coming to America, I do not mind giving them that day. I did not celebrate Columbus day anyway.
Pinky, nice to see you here. 40! That must be a shock to the system, after having those warmer temps!!! I feel the difference here, with the 60's, since we all were so used to the higher temps for so late into the fall season. The weather guy was showing that snowstorm you mentioned, on the nation's weather map. No thanks!!! They are just now saying on the news that natural gas for heating this winter will be UP around $40 per month. Of course! And that goes with all the empty shelves at stores, and the warnings now to Christmas shop very early this year, as there might not be much around, to buy at Christmas time. Oh my, lol, I hope I didn't depress you!!!
I did have fun with the 2 grands. Back when they were very little, and would come stay overnight, it took both me and DH to care for them. I am happy that, with DH gone, they are grown and do not need the 2 of us anymore.
Hope you had fun with your farmbooks yesterday!!! I bet that is just not the same as a good book, lol!!!
Carol, there sure has been so many changes since the Pandemic started, and one of those is how easy it is to shut down a school system, like say, yours having Friday off besides yesterday. All they do is blame Covid, and just like that, there is no school. It was just a few years ago, it seems, that school boards were tougher on kids getting the required amount of days per year of school.
We too have a few days that we could get rain, at least it isn't constant raining.
That picture of your DGS in a boat must be just precious!!! Is that a first for him?
Robin, I do remember the whole thing about boys maturing later than girls, and I grew up with 2 brothers, but there a just a few things that makes me think that DGS is a tad behind on maturing. He is better than he used to, with such as picking on his sister, but I can see where he would still like to do that. And maybe he knows that with being with Grandma, he can act more silly...who knows. And yes, he just turned 14 in July.
Good to hear you are feeling more and more like yourself, but..you know what I am going to say....just because you feel good, do not over do!!! We all have done it, and have suffered for it. Some of it has to do with the fact that we are not 20 years old, lol!!! How many weeks has it been?
Painting starts next Monday....yay!!! How long is it expected to take? You will have a great Thanksgiving this year, with you feeling great by then, and your house all ready for company!!!
Hi to Anngie!! How are you?
The maintenance guys were here by 9 am, and found the issue in a box on the wall next to the water heater, something plugged in there was not properly plugged in. So, of course I have to ask, how would that happen, after being plugged in for these last 3 years??? A question that can not be answered. So that all turned out well.
Was supposed to be storming, during DGS football game, if you listened to the weather people, but of course they were wrong. No rain, but we kind of wished it had, since DGS team played so poorly. He got to play the whole game finally, and as center. He likes that position. So none of the outcome was due to him at all. Thank goodness next Monday is their last game!
Lots of laundry to do today, as I striped the bed DGS slept in over the weekend, and have those sheets to wash, along with a big load of clothes. According to the weather man, I should be able to go over to the trails and get some fresh air, walking outside.
I have Thanksgiving on the brain now, since mentioning it to Robin, so I may start working on the menu, later today.
Isn't that something about John Gruden quitting his coaching job? What a turd!!!
Have a wonderful day everyone!!
