Kathy, I wonder if Southwest is only having problems at some airports and yours isn't one of them. I guess highs in the 80s could constitute fall there. Come on up! We'll be in the upper 40s for lows starting this weekend. I had never heard of pickleball until a coworker's DH died of a heart attack after playing it. I wondered why a retired person was playing something so stressful. I guess it was just his time because I know a lot of people who play it here and seem very healthy. Dale actually got to play last night and seemed to enjoy it. I would love for him to make some friends here and that might be a good way of doing it. There are several places here that it's played so he will have lots of options when he retires. They don't seem to play much on weekends, so he can't do much right now. Has your humidity decreased since yesterday?
I think manners are in short supply everywhere, Chele. Yes, DB and family were fortunate they had support with the battery. Not sure what they would have done otherwise. Iggy had several things going on at the doctor. Glad the shoulder pain was just muscular. Was it the left or right side? What's he doing about the sinus congestion? Enjoy the haircut tomorrow. What kind of herbs will be wintering in the refurbished planter on the patio? I need to pull the zucchini plants out of the bales and some of the Sungolds need to be pulled as well. I need to check the Midnight Snackers today to see if I have some ripe ones. I'm not seeing many masks at the grocery stores (or anywhere else for that matter) here either.
Linda, you definitely are having unseasonal weather right now. Glad things went well on the eye. Was the office any better organized than it was the day before? Hope you have enjoyable weather today like you did yesterday.
Are you expecting rain from the remnants of Hurricane Pamela, Becky? Anything new on the jewelry or MK front?
Denise, are you still working a lot of OT?
When Dale got home late from class it almost 10pm and then he had to get a shower. So we were late getting to bed. Then the smoke alarm in the bedroom went off about 3:45. When they do that, it's usually only 1 or 2 cycles but this one kept going and going and going. They seem to be very humidity sensitive and the shower may have built up the humidity, but we wondered why it didn't go off earlier. He used the can of air and changed out the battery. I am still fighting a headache and my ears are still ringing. I'm also very tired. I would love to take an afternoon nap, but we have a conference call with the FA this afternoon, so that may not be an option. I managed 9 miles on the bike, which took no mental effort but probably zapped some of the physical effort I had. I have a load in the dryer and have ingredients coming to room temperature to make a loaf of bread. We might actually get a little sun today and temps should be in the 70s. Comfortable.

Karen, the Southwest problems at the Orlando airport were all over the local news this weekend, but they said things were going smoother this week. My cousin was a pretty competitive tennis player, so I think pickleball is actually a little easier for him. Humidity is at 74%, so a little higher than yesterday. They're predicting a high of 88. Would love some weather in the 40s! I just watched Captain Kirk after his space adventure today. He was kind've speechless when he landed, but then he got going. They'll be no stopping him now, lol! Sorry on the bad night's sleep and hope it's better tonight.
Waving to everyone. Have a good day.

Smoke detectors seem to only do that at night when you cannot call anybody. Knock on wood. Frustrating.
Our dr called. Staff was supposed to call and tell us she wanted to see the actual images for herself before talking because the two reports were different. I don't know how long it takes for her to get them.
49 this morning for dog walk at six. Unheard of! Got out the bathroom Vornado space heater, robes and winter slippers!

Good Afternoon Chicks and thanks for the start Karen. Karen - I hope the visits with the family went well and enjoyable. I actually had to look-up "pickleball" because had no idea what the heck that was. Apparently it's all the rage right now amongst sports enthusiasts. Did you by any chance manage a small nap today? Shame on that smoke alarm; it must have been talking to my Wally this morning . It's terrible when you have unexpected sleep interruption due to loud noise. How's the headache doing? We had a very cloudy and gray day here in the city with temps never quite reaching 70. Gary was going out golfing with some friends today up north so he probably had a nice day. Chele - how are you sinuses doing with all this crazy cool then humid weather? How is Iggy doing? Have you been to any of the farmer's markets for seasonal goodies? No GI series until this coming Tuesday. Prep will begin tomorrow. Forgive me but I have to run; just received a phone call I need to deal with. Waving hello to Kathy, Becky, Linda and Denise. Have a safe and good evening ladies; ciao for now~

Karen, thanks for the start. I hope the ear ringing and headache are gone by now. I hate the sound of the smoke alarms. I hope you get some better sleep tonight. It was the same kind of day here. The herbs are parsley, rosemary, thyme, oregano, marjoram and savory. The sage and mint are still in the ground and will stay there. We already eat our big meal at lunch time because of Iggy’s GI issues. Frankly, it’s a PITA because that means one or the other of us cooks in the morning.
Iggy’s muscle pain is right center. The doc said he would give him a mild only muscle relaxer because of all his heart medicine. CVS has yet to call saying its ready. For some reason CVS always has a problem with his prescriptions and never with mine.
Iggy got a letter from the GI doc that there is no sign of disease or infection, upper or lower.
Kathy, we are going to have mid sixties/mid forties weather over the weekend. Bliss!
Linda, I bet it feels positively frigid after the nineties and 100s.
Iggy mowed and put the patio furniture away while I worked out, then made black bean chili and buttermilk biscuits. Iggy is delighted I will be away at the lunch hour tomorrow so he can go get Chinese carry out. MSG doesn’t seem to affect him.
Edit addition: we cross posted. Liz, good luck with the prep and test. Sinuses are what you would expect with the shifting weather. Hope you are well other than the usual craziness.

Linda, I can't believe how cool it is there! That is unheard of for this time of year. Liz, love your cute avatar! I'm guessing things are as crazy as ever in the city right now. I'm sure it's an adjustment to have Gary not working while you're as busy as ever. Hope you and the pups are doing okay. Chele, that's great news on Iggy's results. Oh sure, brag about your cooler temps! I'm always the last one that gets cooler weather. Yes, I'm pouting.

Lots of great avatars.
We are usually uncomfortable with heat until Halloween or after! Nice change
We should change to bigger meal midday, but most of my whole life was school based with small lunches and it never seems right to switch, that and I have to really work on eating slower from the habit of working through lunches.
Well, I got myself out and finished burying drip lines and changing out a really old landscape light, then did a lot of overdue pruning (lot to go) in a big bag the yard guys can take Friday. They don't prune the back because I do not want it over cut into weird shapes that destroy the natural shrub. I can't do the front. 2 1/2 hours, but Any digging gets done on a wicker footstool from the patio.
Next job is trying to convert the east back landscape lights to hardwired as the solar gets a lot less light this time of year. Yuck.
Then Micki got a nice walk in the cool air.

Kathy, I saw Captain Kirk go into space for real. I hope I look that good when I'm 90. Do you remember that Jon Gruden from the Raiders who got fired and is under so much scrutiny right now, was almost hired as the Vols head coaching position that eventually went to Jeremy Pruitt? That could have been a real mess here.
You're right, Linda, about smoke detectors having the uncanny abiity to go off at the worst times. We hope we have the problem fixed for now. I guess we'll see in the middle of the night. Good job on the yard work. Do you have to change out the lights every year when the natural light starts to decrease? Does Micki appreciate the cool weather due to his color?
Chele, headache is gone, but the ringing continues. No nap time, so might be an early night here. I never had a lot of luck with Rx at CVS either. Always took them forever. Is Iggy using heat to try to dissipate the pain in the meantime? Congrats on the great report from his GI doc. Hopefully now that the polyps are gone, he will have no problems. I really do need to start eating a larger lunch than dinner for the same reason you do. I eat a lot of "encore presentations" to avoid having to cook every day. I usually have beans, rice, marinara, and a lot of staples cooked up so it's just a matter of deciding what to pull together.
Thanks for checking in and sorry you got pulled away, Liz. Good luck with the prep. As you know, it's worse than the test. Are you planning to take a few days off so you won't have to work while you're prepping? Your weather in the city today sounds like what we had yesterday. Hope Gary enjoyed his golf outing.

Wow..ringing is a pain.
Texted dr to ask if we should fetch images. Dr will not call back until at least Friday afternoon because imaging company has to install software then on her computer so she can access the pictures. She could have said, and bet it is not until Monday ,…pissed
Went out to plug in the power box for east side landscape lights we have not used in long time to see if they all work …it does not work. Think yard guys dropped it last year. I could do a new one. DH gets mad when I do stuff myself instead of hiring people. Not to thrilled to change over the lights to hard wired. May get someone to do it. Probably cannot get a power box with everything. Back ordered.
Remember we redid bathroom fixtures in beginning if a June, the the tub front would not slide far enough to change works underneath? So a part had to be ordered that would work like old one? Well, still waiting for it.
so waiting for that, now heaven knows on lights, waiting for tree people Nov 12 and hope no rain. Waiting for doc, waiting for whomever she referrs us to to call and want more tests.
too much waiting.
