Welcome to the Clutter Patrol, formerly CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Back from my doctor appointment. She was thrilled with my cholesterol numbers, and happy that my A1C went down too. My weight was up, but she said she take the 2 positives. Asked if I want to see another dietitian and I said no. I told her that I was still on WW, just not really working the program. That’s a change I need to do. We talked about my almost non-existent exercise, said that I’m in the same boat with a lot of her patients. She wanted to know what my future exercise plan was. I told her I was starting to do YouTube exercise routines, slowly but would like to get that habit going. She was glad to see me so positive after the last few visits. I also got my first pneumonia shot, she called that progress. I’m due for my booster next month. She’s ok with the supplements that I want to add. It was a good office visit.
Dreary looking day. It’s not raining, but looks like we’ll get some rain some time today.
Started going through paperwork yesterday, I’ll take unwanted papers to work to shred. Especially with all of the things I’ve had done the past couple of years, it will be nice to have that organized.
Nothing much else going on today.
Ruth - yes, I have definitely switched my sport of choice. I used to be a huge Sabres fan, my friend and I would go to their practices back in the day. I have pictures, autographs and it was in the 70s. Now I hardly know who’s on the team, but I know all all of the Bills and am waiting for my first Bills jersey purchase to arrive.
If you want a laugh, go to basilford.com and go to their Facebook page. You will see me sitting at the cashier desk with a bills t-shirt, waving … I am wearing a mask but I was smiling when she took the video. I’m a celebrity! 😂
Time to get moving. See ya tomorrow

Joyce, your visit with your doctor sounds great. I’m happy to see that she actually takes time to talk to you. Lately my appointments with the doctor are very quick and she is done. Having a place to take your shredding is great, I miss that from when I worked. I got to see your picture, nice.
Ruth, that’s great that your DS might be able to get his surgery sooner than he thought. I thought you mentioned that you were thinking about changing you Hawaii dates till June when DGDs could be vaccinated. Hope you hear from the pain clinic soon, it seems like insurance companies are always very slow. I think all over people drive like idiots and it gets worse when it rains or snows. All the leaves we have in our yard is one thing I really won’t miss.
Martha, good to see you stop by.
We found out from our lawyer what the holdup is. There is one inspector in town who apparently is difficult to work with. That inspector is the one that our builder has unfortunately. The inspector will find one thing wrong and the builder will fix it, when the inspector comes back he will check that and then start going thru the house again and finds another problem. According to the lawyer these are minor problems that really aren’t a safety issue, at this rate this could take a long time. The inspector is due back to the house this afternoon or tomorrow morning, when he has time – UGH!!!! We are optimistic that the builder with get the CO this week. Have a good day.

Good late morning all. Joy, how fun to see your smiling face. It is always great to put a face with a name!!! I love it! Sounds like your doctor appt went very well. You have a caring doctor who takes the time to really get to know you. That is so special. And you are doing well with the diet changes; now add in the exercise. Baby steps will get you there!
Dottie, nice to know what the issue is. Sounds like that inspector is on a power trip! You could have a closing date soon. Exciting! I know you won’t be really excited until you are closed and have things moved into the house.
Dottie, we contemplated moving the trip to June; but because DSIL is a pilot and he buys tickets at a special price, they may not be able to change their tickets w/o a big penalty (or at all); so we will probably just go in January. Either is fine with us. We’re just so ready to get away!!! DS’s surgery will probably be mid-Dec so that will work. We will have him, Mara, and the puppy and DIL can deal with the other dog and the cats.
I got awful news yesterday about a former colleague. An elementary principal in the district where I worked committed suicide over the weekend. He was probably 50. He leaves behind an ex-wife and 2 young adult children. I knew him when he first started in the district and he was an elementary teacher and he took over coaching our high school boys soccer team from our good friend who lives up north of us on the lake. Brian had been on leave this fall due to mental health issues, so it was a known health concern, but I’m not sure anyone knew he was this far down that deep dark hole. I’m heartbroken because he was such a great individual, parent, teacher, coach. I considered him a friend.
Rainy, cool, windy and overcast here today. Rain is hopefully moving out of the area soon. If it does, I’m going to try and get outside for a short walk. I’m with you, Joy, gotta get back at it. I need to get both upstairs (clean out the bedroom so we can get Mara into the toddler bed w/o too many things to get into) and downstairs (get stuff ready to sell, donate, get rid of). Good day for it!
I also would like to hit a couple boutiques this week. I need a pick me up that isn’t food or very expensive! And there are 2 or 3 of the boutiques I enjoy going on right now.
Waving to Martha! Hope all is well with you! HUGS back at you!
more later!
