Fraudulent package delivery scam…FYI. We recently received a delivery containing an Xbox and one game which we DID NOT order. Surprisingly the delivery didn’t require a signature. The address label said that we would be getting a call from Citizen One Bank to set up payments!
So we called Citizen One and they told us this is a pretty common scam…what the scammers do is order the product, paying for it by opening a credit card account in your name then attempt to intercept the delivery (steal it from your door step).
The scammers had enough information about me So the bank approved an account in our name based on our credit report. Fortunately We didn’t suffer any financial loss…just hours and hours dealing with the bank, filling out their fraud forms then submitting fraud alerts and freezing both of our accounts on the three biggest credit bureaus….My reason for posting this is to alert others what to do if this happens to you.
I guess that’s what they call identity theft. I would appreciate any advice on how we can protect our identity other than what we’ve already one.

Post office told us to just refuse the package !! We had that happen to few people here. If you didn't order it and no one sending you a gift. Just refuse it. Guess here they said if you haven't talked to them they do not have your information. Like the charge of 10cents or a $1 on your credit card. If you let it go through they will use it again. trying to get your information. If you call and refuse it they are done.
Please don't think I am saying your information is wrong. I'm not. Either way works I guess.
