My favorite food use to be sweets. I use to joke when I went out to dinner I should skip the dinner because what I really wanted was the dessert. Now I'm mostly off sweets. I like most food but don't have favorites right now I think mostly due to my lack of food imagination.
My favorite foods are still sugar foods but craving is not as bad because I haven't brought any junk food in my house in many weeks, thanks to BBR, I don't put it on my shopping list and many weeks my daughter does my shopping, problem solved on bringing junk in my house.
I really love the fresh yellow and green beans I've been eating for several weeks and now have fresh cauliflower and squash from the farm market in my refrigerator. I pierce the hard shelled squash in several spots, place on foil, bake 375' for 2 or more hours, cool and eat, so good.
One of my favorite meats is chuck steak with baked potato and carrots. I do allow myself beef products but only a couple ounces per meal as recommended by Mayo Clinic.
Ice cream is another favorite which is bought a couple times during the summer at an ice cream shop here in town and I only get a cup with no topping but love carmel topping on vanilla ice cream. The ice cream is eaten outside my house.
I am not sure...there is so much we are NOT eating that we used to eat that it is hard to say what my favorite food actually is. My go-to foods are usually made on a dish or in a bowl and have grain, bean, vegetables and a sauce. They might be Mexican (like lunch today) or Asian with stir fry or something like that OR I might make a wrap with hummus and veggies. A favorite is fresh fruit in season. I don't know what I would eat if it was available or how it would even sit on my tastebuds or in my stomach if I ate it!
Like lani, I like just about everything. But if there is one thing that I believe I could eat every day it would be warm crusty French bread topped with garlic, olive oil and herbs, chunks of Asiago cheese, black grapes and a beautiful glass of delicious white wine. Yummmm!
