This is a thread devoted to those in their 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond who don't have children or grandchildren but live rich, full lives. Please feel free to join our stroll thru life and come back often for support and to share. ******************** Hair cut day! Yay! I havenāt had it cut since May. I am going short again, so the silver will come shining through.

Iām back. I now have a pixie cut and thereās not as much silver as I thought there would be. I left a basketful of hair at the salon. On the way home I stopped at DLM for some gourmet items. Meanwhile Iggy went to a new sushi and hibachi buffet and brought back some sushi for us. He said itās very clean and one is required to wear gloves when filling up. Itās reasonably priced too.
Karen, how was Osteo? Did you make any stops? I hope you got a better nightās sleep. How are the ears? I hope you are not joining the tinnitus club.
Kathy, we have a warm day here at 84Ā°. Supposedly, we will have rain later. Iāll believe it when I see it. Itās mid October already. Have you started your Christmas shopping?
Linda, thatās crazy about the test results and the doc follow up. Iggy is still having problems with the docās offices prescriptionās and CVS. He followed up today and they are still not ready.
Waving to Liz, Becky and Denise. I hope you are having a good day.

Sympathy to Iggy.
Hope your pixie is cute.
We will reach 79! Heat is coming to 90 for weekend though which is still under norm.
dH got his blood test done and is now on a normal lighter eating diet like mine. Phew. But we are having our October pumpkin pie. House smells good. So today we can eat outside at restaurant with cooler temps and Flemings closed their patio for two weeks.š„“. So it is late lunch / early supper at Mexican place . Linda

Thanks for the start, Chele. Still nothing on the Rx? That's insane! I would be tempted to change pharmacies. How do you feel with your freshly sheared locks? Be proud of that silver. You earned it! I'll bet you left enough for a good-sized wig, given that you haven't had it cut in about 5 months. How was the sushi (besides being clean and reasonably priced)? What kind of things did you find at DLM? Osteo went fine. No new highs, but good performance. Ears are improving, TG. I took a load of recycling on the way (the one in KVL where I can recycle just about everything), then stopped at Publix for a few things on the way home, and the gym. Lots of cars in the parking lot when I got there but the crowd cleared out and I only had to alter my routine for one machine, so not bad. I think we only got to 82Ā° today, so you were warmer than we were. Good luck with that rain prediction. We are supposed to have a nasty Saturday morning, but Dale plans to run at the state park. He said the crowds should be light š. Will you cover the herbs that will be left in the ground to overwinter?
Linda, you only got to 79Ā° today? That's pretty amazing. I guess you need to enjoy it while you can with the heat returning soon. All your backordered stuff is probably on a ship sitting in the Port of Los Angeles. We really need to get manufacturing back in this country. NAFTA really screwed us, but it took the pandemic to feel the full effects. Pretty bizarre that this imaging center uses such unique software that she doesn't already have it available. Is the imaging center so far away that she can't go there to view the images? Wasn't it Tom Petty who said the waiting is the hardest part? You said Bob would be eating like you do after his blood tests. Enjoy the pie. That probably won't be on the diet for long. Homemade crust?? Hope you enjoyed the Mexican food.
This week's Publix ad was pretty lame IMO , Kathy. I had a couple of things on my list that they apparently don't carry but were on their website as being in stock. That was disappointing. I saw a sign at a restaurant on the way home today that should give you an indication how acute the labor shortages is here. It read, "Now Hiring Catfish". That's pretty desperate. Are DS/DBIL planning to go anywhere in the RV to see the leaves changing? Tourists are definitely here. I even saw a car from Alaska this morning.
Liz, you made it til Thursday. Hope things are settling down a little. How's the prep going so far?
Hopefully tonight will not be the end of my baseball season. National news is making a big deal of the Giants-Dodgers. So far we have won games 1 and 3 and Dodgers won 2 and 4. So it's our turn (I hope). Being a "winner take all" scenario, both teams will be throwing everything they have in order to win. Hope we can find a chink in their armour early. If we lose, I guess we'll be pulling for the Astros to make it to the World Series. Rain and a cold front this weekend, so I may need to look at moving some plants indoors. I need to do some work outside on Sunday if possible.
Waving to Becky and Denise.

would you believe Bob was having fajitas and decided to do all veg? Normal fajita is colorful peppers and onions off the grill with Mexican seasoning and meat, but he got a pile of STEAMED cauliflower, yellow squash, broccoli and a little onion and pepper. WHAT! Probably last thing You would think of as Mexican a d never steamed..He mixed some of his beans in with it, but after all this time ā¦rotten dinner. I had fish tacos. At least he could come hime for pie.
