I'm back. That first film class session went very well. Bigger group than last series and everyone contributed something. For the next 5 meetings, 2 or more people will select their film and the leader and I will just help out where needed.
Ruth, still trying to picture eating hot dogs horizontally. Does that mean they hold them the way most people do, but eat little bits from the top down, not starting at one end?
AOTD:
1. What is your most controversial food opinion? I won't eat at a pizzeria unless they have something I can eat that is tasty and healthy. Pizza is a trigger food for me, and many pizzerias do not have good salads.
2. Do you have a weird food thing you love to do? When I was young, we used to put baked beans inside a hollowed-out Kaiser roll. So a baked bean sandwich. Wouldn't do it today but it was delicious. I also used to dip pretzels into ice cream. No longer do that either. I have a cousin who puts ketchup on EVERYTHING, even in soup. My son's favorite sandwich was cheerios and butter on toast. Don't really think I do anything weird at this point in my life, except that I eat the pith of some citrus fruits. I read that it was good for you.
Shragae, I'm Jewish too and also enjoy gefilte fish with horseradish and tongue. Matzo ball soup, matzo brie, etc., but my favorite deli sandwich is hot Pastrami on rye. Can't have that too often though. I miss the large family get togethers with all the ethnic foods.
I'll try almost anything. Two disasters were a Malaysian dish that must have been made with Durian fruit and a soup that tasted like regurgitated something. OMG the first was so foul-smelling and one spoonful of the second was more than enough.
I went to a terrific country music event last night. Talk about bargains, great music and dinner for $10. The singer was Drew Baldridge. I had heard some of his songs on the radio and he was a fabulous entertainer. Have you heard of him, Jane?
