Good morning friends. Slept well once again and grateful. Very foggy this morning. In fact it's been that way for the past few days. It does burn off which is good.
Today will be another day of taking it easy. I continue to plan my meals track and hydrate. Movement part isn't up to par as I am not up to par but I try. It's all I can do.
Pam you surely were a busy little bee. I bet you are a happy camper having the floors scrubbed and veggies planted. Good luck on DH's wound care appointment.
Tonight we are having a salad with a meatball and sausage grinder. I had two grinder rolls in the freezer that I defrosted and that will be a quick easy and tasty meal
Waving and shall CBL

Hey all,
Good morning Ann. Thanks for getting us rolling today. Yum on your meals. I can't wait to cook again. I am tired of the take out foods.
Pam, you sure are busy with all the vegetable gardening. I really admire your hard work and I am sure your harvest is great. How is DH's wound today? Did you mean The Girl Who Saw Colors? - about the senses, etc.? I have read about that one so I might check it out.
I downloaded several books today from the library that sounded good so I should be set to read. I like some of the period books of the early 1900s and the WWI and II times so I have some of them ready to read, too. I also loaded a few new mysteries. Jack Reacher mystery and a Dennis Lehane. I think I have covered all my moods! lol
Have a good one all and I will be back.

Ann, that grinder sounds delish! Enjoy dinner and reserve your energy. No sense in getting worn out. :-)
The day is drawing to a close here - lots going on and glad I am WFH tomorrow!

Good Afternoon, WW Friends ~
I am home from my last work day this week! I had a haircut appointment on the way home, and I really needed it! It had gotten shaggy, almost overnight! But it looks very crisp and cute now, so it's all good!
Today was a strange day at school. I found out that one of the classes I sit in at lunch time was closed - actually quarantined. One student's mom had tested positive for COVID, and though the student wasn't there, he tested positive yesterday - and the remainder of the class is quarantined until a week from Monday. Fortunately I have had absolutely no contact with this student. He is a special needs and at the beginning of the year he had an aide in the room just for him, but she is gone now. So the teacher and assistant have been providing his care. When they told me about his COVID, the first words I thought (and said) were "I have never been within a stone's throw of him" and the teacher agreed with me. I got a call from the secretary after I left today to let me know; and asked if I was vaccinated. When I told her I was doubly vaccinated back in the winter and received a booster last week, she let out an audible sigh of relief and an "oh, good". I never, ever remove my mask in that classroom (or any classroom for that matter) so there's that also. I am so grateful that our principal made that rule. We used to be able to eat lunch with the kiddos (in years past) but not any more because of the mask issue.
I stopped and filled my new car with gas after my haircut. I am really enjoying driving it! It handles completely differently than my previous Trax and then there's the bright color!! Crimson Metallic!! Just the thought of it makes me smile!
Ann ~ GFY for taking it easy when you need to. Hydrating is always good for my energy level too.
Judy ~ I have had occasions when I didn't cook for a time and began to look forward to it. It was definitely worth the wait.
Pam ~ Ypu have become quite the gardener! Your DH is very lucky to have you to pick up the slack and you are such a good sport about it!
I made poached eggs for breakfast this morning and toast for DH and grits for me. Then I put a pork loin in the crock pot before I left for school. It smelled divine when I got home! I have a large sweet potato to cook and split between us along with some lima beans (comfort food supper). DH has been working on a very tedious job for the past few days and has been very tired, so I think comfort food will be in order tonight!!
BBL. Make a great day!!

Love that you love your car and color.
Good ol comfort food. It can't be beat.
So happy you got your haircut and have some time off for you.

Ann - I had to google grinder. I gather it is a poboy/hoagie/submarine type sandwich. Sounds delicious!
Judy - The book I am reading is The Woman Who Heard Color by Kelly Jones. One of the characters has synesthesia, where one can see the color in music. I am actually a terrible gardener, especially in the heat of summer. I am pledging to do better with the fall garden.
Sue - I hope and pray you don't catch Covid, but if you do, your vaccinations would hopefully make it a mild case. Glad you are having fun with the new car.
This morning, I worked in the garden from 8:30 - 10:30 and made good progress with the hoeing and weeding. After a shower and lunch, DH and I left early for his wound care appointment and stopped at a greenhouse to buy cabbage and broccoli plants. Planting them will be tomorrow's project. Next, we made a quick grocery stop because I needed potatoes for dinner. We were still quite early for his appointment and they were running a little late, so had to sit around for a bit.
The wound care appointment went okay. He had less drainage, which is good, but the wound still looks so much bigger to me. DH has still not asked to see it (I take pictures for him to see it) for which I am grateful. I think it would discourage him. I estimate we still have several months of healing ahead of us.
Once we were back home, I prepped dinner and then went to Mass. When I got back, I made smothered okra and tomatoes, green peas, mashed potatoes and gravy and fried chicken tenders. It was a feast! I had Pecan Persimmon OO for breakfast and leftover Cheeseburger Soup, pineapple and yogurt for lunch.
Debbie is back from working in NOLA,so we will walk in the morning before I do gardening chores. Now, I'm going to read a few pages and head to bed.
