Good morning.
This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
All are welcome here.

Good morning friends. Happy Thursday!
Jana - thanks for starting us. I don't even know what to say about continuing fridge issue. As my granny would have said, "That's enought to make a preacher cuss!". Sending good thoughts your way.
Well when we got home yesterday Mark had an email from his new company asking if he could come in today to do their "onboarding session". And another that the president of his old company and they want to take him out to lunch tomorrow. Refer to my granny's quote above. So much for "can't wait to have Wed, Thurs & Fri to relax and do what we want. Yesterday we spent 3 hours driving, and while it was a really nice visit and I always enjoy his Aunt and Uncle...it wasn't exactly what would have been on the top of my list of relaxing/fun activities. Now I feel like Thurs and Fri are being taken from me. Saturday is wall to wall football, and while I enjoy that - it's not like it's anything different than we would have done anyway a the same with whatever Sunday brings.
I know I'm being kind of a brat about this, and I'm trying to take it all in stride but just DANG IT! I was really looking forward to actually doing some things together that we wouldn't normally get to do because of his work obligations, and now his 2 last off days are filled with exactly that - Work Obligations.
I might be putting the cart before the horse, he'll be getting back with the guy first thing this morning regarding the onboarding stuff, so we'll see what happens there. But until then, I'm just kind of left hanging with how to plan for my day.
Sorry this became such and "all about me" post. I guess I'm feeling a little disappointed. Clearly I'll survive whatever it is that he has to do the next couple of days. Although, sometimes it is nice when a day might revolve around what I want once in a while. Lol.

Good morning everyone.
Today one of our techs is retiring so I will be heading over to his facility for his lunch. Just means my day will be broken up but that is ok.
Lora M's relatives' property sounds so nice. So if you find something like that, would it be a vacation, get away kind of place or where you would actually live? I like living remotely - not sure I would want to be off grid - LOL
Susie glad your test went well and you are feeling better.
Jill I am sorry I missed your birthday - happy belated birthday. I hope yesterday was not too bad. About the deer - they wouldn't be right outside the window - they would still maybe half a football field away. We have seen them toward the tree line a few times but we haven't seen them since we put the corn out. However the crows have found the corn and they are loving it - LOL Wild life is wild life I suppose Supposedly there are black bears in the area.
Waving to Robin and Janet.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Oh Lora - I am so sorry about M. I know it is frustrating and you have every right to be a brat. I completely understand you wanting to be a priority.
I hope his obligations do not take too much time.

Jana - if we did find a place that checked all of the boxes, it would be a weekend getaway type place for now. But possibly a permanent residence later down the road. Offgrid isn't a MUST, but I do think it would be an interesting challenge to learn to live that way. We're also looking at is as kind of an investment opportunity. Land with harvestable timber makes it a potential income source - not that we'd at all be completely clear cutting anything, and replanting trees can be a very inexpensive investment, but lowers the property taxes immensely. Farmland is also a great investment opportunity and beneficial tax wise, even if you're just allowing someone else to come in a few of times a year and cut the grasses for hay. We've been looking at this casually since before we even moved here, but with Ms new job we have a little more financial freedom to pull the trigger on something if we find what we're looking for. I think we'd probably still keep this house even if the new place had a move in ready home on it. I love this place. We're not in a big hurry, it's just something we've talked about for years and we've seen a couple of places for sale recently that looked interesting. The one was more interesting that the other, but we're patient people. I feel sure we'll know when the right opportunity presents itself. I mean we looked steadily for like 2 years before we landed on our current house. Haha.

Okay, so here's the update on my day. DH got in touch with the HR person from the new job this morning and his onboarding session is scheduled for 2pm this afternoon, and via microsoft teams, so it's a virtual meeting. So, he asks if I want to make a quick Costco run, as that was one of the things that was on the list for his "days off" this week. So I load up the car with coolers & cold packs etc. and we haul butt into the city make a mad dash thru Costco to the tune of $400+ then come right back home. We get the car unloaded and I'm left to put the food in the fridge, freezer and pantry, process the giant packs of ground beef into 1lb. packs for the freezer, slice and package the whole pork loin into chops for the freezer, etc. Now...y'all have known me long enough to know exactly how I feel about grocery shopping, right? So why is he befuddled about why I'm not estatic about "getting out" this morning? Please feel free to insert a ginormous eyeroll at this point. MEN!!!!!!!!!
I mean, not to be ungrateful, but we went to Costco and came right back home. Clearly nothing there is joyful backflip inducing, right?

Lora, oh my goodness, what a day! I hope all is working out with Mark's work stuff. And... I hope some of the rest of the week's schedule is cleared?? Oh goodness, I totally get the grocery bit. I can't stand grocery shopping at all, and that doesn't sound like a little trip. I loved reading about your country land ideas. I grew up in the country and my DH grew up on a farm in Iowa. When we go back to visit the farm... it's heaven. Jana, awww black bears, fun. I hope the retirement lunch went well. I love Thursdays. I have enough time to complete everything I need to do and then relax in the evening. I did get to the gym today, phew! Tonight I'll watch a couple of shows I recorded earlier this week. Waving hi to all!

Hi Everyone....actually had a pretty good day.
Lora - oh man, what a crappy day...at least you got the COSTCO run accomplished, but you need to tell Mark that is never a "quick" run (unless you are totally stressed at the end of it). Sounds like your day was pretty bad...sorry. I hope you find the kind of property for which you are looking. I don't think I would ever want to live in the middle of nowhere, I am too much of a people person. Can you imagine me in a place like your "dream location?" Ha Ha.....No mah jongg, tap dancing, bridge, gym classes, walks with DD, Hand & Foot, Saturday coffees at the clubhouse, and on and on .... It does sound like a great weekend get-away though!
Jill - yippee for this being your favorite day.
Jana - I bet those crows did find the corn... I hope no bears do!
Waving to everyone and hoping you all have a very good night.
